Deep Blue and Red Bottoms (for ZeldaFan64)
The see was calm as the princess of the deep swam along the ocean floor. After spending years on land, being this far under the water was truly a lovely experience. However, she did catch a strange sound. Following it she two legs frantically kicking in the water, making it gush everywhere. Seeing the distress Ariel sped up and approached the form quickly. She noticed it was young boy, either he was injured in some way or his swimming skills leaved something be desired. Swimming up she lifted the boy up from the water as quickly as she could and pushed forward toward a small set of rocks in the center of the ocean. Only when climbed them and looked down at the boy was she shocked to see how young her looked.

Rhei heard of Atlanticia before, where he heard stories of talking sea creatures and mermaids as well. He approached the land via Glider, his own personal weapon-turned transportation, and landed upon the beach. It felt... well, divine. The sun was out without a cloud in the sky, there was a nice atmosphere of seagulls, waves and a gentle breeze flowing through.
The young man that visited was a young warrior from another world, where he travels from here to there. He worn a robe of red, a white shirt and green shorts, as well as some grey shoes. He also had spiked-up brunette hair. One aspect of Rhei was that he was really curious with lands like these, but maybe a little too curious... it so happened that he fell straight into the ocean after trying to locate a fish, and since he wasn't a fan of swimming,... he almost drowned.
But, his life was not going to end soon. A lady managed to save him in a nick of time, and take him to a set of rocks. Rhei stopped panicking during the rescue and looked up to see the redhead. "Huh...? L-Lady, you saved me...! Th-" he however was distracted with what she had replacing legs...

Stroking the wet hair Ariel did notice any shock from the boy. "Shhh take your time. Deep breaths. What happened ? Were you left at sea by your ship or something." Ariel asked, lucky she gotten to the boy in time. "Start with your name alright little one. " she said soothing the boy in the same manner she would comfort her daughter. Stroking the wet locks of hair. She hopped the beating sun would try his clothes quickly so he wouldn't become ill. "You know children shouldn't be out in the sea all alone."

She was one of them! A mermaid! It made his emerald eyes englarge at the very sight of her. "Whoooooaa! You're a- a mermaid!" It was true; she had the tail and everything! But of course SHE knew that but what she needed to know about his name and how did he end up in the sea. "My name is Rhei, I'm not from around here..." he stood up, wobbling a little as he did but managed to gain balance. "Listen, thanks! No, really, I mean it. I owe ya my life... And for the record, I'm not a child.

Ariel kept a firm hold the boy, gaze ever curious. "I'm indeed a mermaid and I can't tell you're not from around here by the lack of tail." She quirked an eyebrow. "You're welcome for the rescue, but you shouldn't lie about your age. I won't think less of you Rhei." She said with fondness running her head over the boy's back. "How did you end up out here ?" She said moving a strand of wet hair out of the boy's face gently.

Rhei looked forward and kicked his legs, heels going against the waves causing some splashes. "No... I'm not around here. I'm from... somewhere far away." Rhei said, before stiffening at the affection this mermaid was giving, where it showed him that she was rather worried about his safety. The young teen gave a few coughs and explained when his spiky hair was lifted, before looking down at remembrance. "I was only exploring the ocean... and saw a fish and well... thought I might as well dropped in." He chuckled afterwards.

Ariel's gaze narrowed a little. "Like I said before, such a young boy shouldn't be traveling alone. I would say it's likely you'll hurt yourself but you already have ." Ariel said scolding slightly. She rubbed the boy's back to try and help him work all the water out of his system. "You could have seriously hurt yourself." She said giving the boy the once over, he looked quite young to despite what he'd said prior.

"I'm not hurt, I'm all right! It's just-" he widened his eyes and released a few coughs that interrupted his defence, where a few drops of sea water could be seen spat out. The back of his hand was rubbed against his lips, before he started to breathe in order to console himself. "Aww... I'm fine! Really... it's nothing, I had worse than drowning..."

"Young man why are traveling all alone ? Where are you parents ? Who looks after you ? " Ariel asked with rapid fire speed, honestly the idea of her daughter doing anything similar was absolutely terrifying. She turned the boy's head to face him. Ariel couldn't help but feel her parental nature coming out.

Rhei was slightly taken back by the quick questions, before he was forced to look up into her eyes. His emerald ones blinked twice while in their widened state, right before he cleared his throat. "I travel alone... well, because I can. My parents are... well, they're out there somewhere... I'm just looking for them..." he asked, eyes downcasting as a hand rubbing his head.
