"Bonjour!? Monsieur?" A young boy around eight poked his head in through the dark, cold, seemingly empty castle door. He had no idea a hideous, thunderous Beast was the master of it, he had been running from Wolves and happened upon the Castle by chance. He let himself in and walked over to the fire, warming his hands and his little bottom by it. France was cold this time of year, and the journey had been long, he had tried to deliver some mail to another town, but got lost.

"I wonder who the Master of this Castle is..." The young boy asked himself, looking around and he found a very human looking candelabra, "Oh wow, I bet this is worth a lot of money." he gasped, picking it up and admiring it's features.

Geppetto had been overjoyed when his little Pinocchio became a real boy, he could feed and clothe Pinocchio now, and he could also spank his little bottom if the six year old needed it. He was sat at his desk, working on one of his clocks, a very bright and colourful one, with bouncing rabbits and tweeting birds. "Oh my leetle Pinocchio will love this, don't you think so Figaro?" he asked his cat.

The cat pulled a face and shook his head.

"Oh well, you never know. He'll be back from school any moment now." The man smiled, "I want to give him this as a present."

Little did the boy know, the castle belonged to a hideous and ill tempered beast. Who was once a prince, whose entire castle was put under a curse do to his selfishness. Even his servants were put under the curse. One of them was the very candlebra he was holding. Lumíere who was the princes maître'd. When he heard an eight year old boy was in the castle he was surprised. What was a young boy doing out here all alone in the middle of winter? He'd catch death out here! However, he was even more surprised, and very unhappy when he was picked up and was considered a lot of money.

"Mon petit! I hope you aren't thinking of selling me!" He cried. Not thinking at first he'd probably startle the boy.

Pinocchio was just adjusting to becoming a real boy. And well it was very fun! There was so many things he could do now that he couldn't do before. Still, there were also some cons to this whole thing. One of these things being that he could get his bottom smacked if he was naughty. Luckily he wasn't too naughty, but sometimes his curiosity landed him in trouble.

Soon the boy came through the door with his school book in hand,"Father! Father I'm home!" He cried happily,"I learned so much at school today!"

The little boy's name was Phillippe, and he had been living in the work house with other orphans ever since he could remember. His parents died when he was a baby so he was never really taught much discipline. He picked up the Candelabra and looked it over, it was so beautiful and no doubt worth a lot of money. Then, it started talking to him.

"AH!" Phillippe dropped it in shock and backed up so much he almost landed in the large open fire. "Y-You....you spoke!" he gasped, his little blue eyes wide with horror and amazement.

Geppetto looked up and threw a blanket over the clock quickly before his little son could see it, it wasn't quite finished yet and he wanted to present it tomorrow before he went to school. "On my little Pinocchio!" the man cried with so much joy, scooping the boy up and twirling him around. "I am so happy you are home, did you behave for your teacher?" he asked, settling him on his hip as he walked over to the table. There, he put Pinocchio down and smiled.

"How about a little something to eat, my boy?"

Lumíere cried out when the boy did, and when he dropped him he quickly stood back up. Gasping when the boy landed very close to the open fire,"Yes! I can talk, but do not be frightened little one. I can explain! But first, don't set too close to the fire. You're burn yourself or get soot all over you."

Pinocchio laughed as he was twirled around. Being just as happy to see his dad as he was to see him. After all he had the best papa in all the world,"Yes, father. I was really good and she liked the apple I gave her too!" He smiled, though he didn't answer his fathers question right away. He was too transfixed on the cloth covering whatever was out of sight,"Gee father! What's under this?" He asked and reached out.

Phillippe did as he was told, mostly because he didn't know what to think. Was this real? Candles didn't speak! He swallowed and nodded when told not to be frightened. His heavily French accent was gentle and calming, which made the boy feel a little better. "S-Sorry Monsieur Candelabra..." he said and then frowned some.

"A-Are you the master of this Castle, Monsieur?" he knew it was a foolish question, but if Candelabras could talk and move, then who's to say he WASN'T the master of the house. "I'm sorry for intruding, I just had to get away from the wolves..."

Geppetto beamed when Pinocchio said his teacher liked her apple, "Oh that's good, that's very good." he said and then his eyes widened when Pinocchio tried to see under the blanket. "Oh no Pinocchio!" he grabbed his hand, "No, no, you must not see this until tomorrow morning before school." he explained but he wasn't angry or upset. He placed a gentle kiss on his son's head and then smiled.

"It's a surprise." he said with a grin and then decided he would cook some fish for Pinocchio.

"It is alright little boy." The candlebra assured in that same calm and gentle tone. Chuckling some at his question and shaking his head slightly,"No, no no little one. I am not the master of this castle. I am however the servant of the owner. My name is Lumíere. And what is yours if I may ask?" He said. His heart going out to the poor boy apologizing and saying he was trying to get away from the wolves.

Pinocchio quickly drawed his hand back, and nodded at his explanation of why he couldn't look under the blanket at the moment,"Okay father I won't." He said, and looked up with a curious and adorable smile,"Will I like this surprise?"

Phillippe listened as the Candelabra explained that he was the servant of the master and his name was Lumíere anf then he asked him what his name was. "My name is Phillippe." he answered and sat down in one of the arm chairs, "If you're not the Master, then who is Monsieur?" the boy asked curiously, his fingers inching closer to the Candelabra's flame. "So is everything in this Castle alive?" he asked curiously.

Geppetto nodded his head, "Oh I hope you will my little Pinocchio, I made it just for you." he explained and ruffled his black hair. "Now then, would you like some lemon with your fish?" he asked, going back over to the stove for the moment, and waiting for the boy's reply.

Lumíere got up on the table again as the boy introduced himself,"Ah! It is a pleasure to meet you Phillipe." The candlebra replied in that thick French accent of his. A warmth and gentleness in it as he spoke. When the boy asked who the master was, and if everything was alive, he opened his mouth to reply when a furious roar sounded throughout the castle.

"LUMÍERE!? COGSWORTH?!" The voice roared,"WHERE ARE YOU? And what's that voice I hear!?"

"Just for me?? Gosh! I'm sure lucky to have you as my father!" Pinocchio beamed. Before watching as his father went to the stove and asked his question,"Yes please." He said, and looked at the blanket still. His curiosity overwhelming him on what was underneath it.

Phillippe smiled when the Candelabra said he was pleased to meet him, "You too, Monsieur." he answered and then jumped out of his skin when he heard yelling of the most frightful kind. His eyes widened and he put his hand over his mouth to stop himself from breathing too loudly. He looked nervously at Lumíere and swallowed, mouthing; 'Is that the...master?'

"Oh dear...he's in one of his moods again." A rather british sounding clock said as he jumped down from the mantle. "Why is there a boy here?!"

Geppetto smiled brightly, "No I am the lucky one, my Pinocchio." he told him and kissed his cheek before then heading over to add lemon to the fish, wanting to make his son's meal special. "I am so proud of how good you've been lately my boy, so that surprise is going to be your reward." he explained and fried the fish over the flame.

Lumíere jumped slightly when he heard his master start screaming his name. Though he wasn't to frightened, because he was used to this. He nodded at Phillepes question before looking to his friend,"Cogsworth, the boy was trying to get away from wolves and was seeking shelter from the cold. I couldn't just turn him away could I?" He asked and looked around. Worried of how they were going to explode this to he prince.

Just as suddenly the beast roared again. This time so loudly it shook the walls,"COGSWORTH!? COGSWORTH WHERE ARE YOU!??"

Pinocchio smiled when his father said he was the lucky one before kissing him. However, what really made him happy was that he had made his father proud of him, and that was why he'd earned it,"I'm glad I could make you proud of me papa!" He said,"I'm gonna go put my school book up and feed Cleo!" He said and hurried off. While he was feeding Cleo he noticed a clock on the wall looked rather dusty. So he grabbed a cloth and stood on his tiptoes and started to wipe it. Unfortunately while trying to clean it, he leaned to much on it to get the top, and his weight caused it to fall to the floor with a CRASH!! He gasped. He wasn't hurt, but he was scared. His father would be so angry and he wouldn't get the surprise. That was one of his favorite clocks!
