Work, was hard to find these days...

a bit of history is in order

WW3 finally came wiping civilization almost entirely off the planet, some had feared the complete collapse of the ecosystem...

civilization has slowly, but surely reestablished itself, though society has regressed in many ways. Ideals that were long forsaken have come back into vogue, and the emergance of a new feudal hierarchy seemed inevitable

Christina has a position as maid for a upper middle class family... she dislikes the... unflattering uniform and the 'discipline' very much, but it helped her keep a stable roof over her head, and her belly full... not things to be taken for granted.

Before the war, the Grant family wouldn't have been considered rich. In this day and age, though, when almost everything was left with absolutely nothing left, they were pretty well off. Well off enough they wound up owning one of the larger homes in the area. Nothing grand, but certainly more than adequate for the man, woman, and 2 children that lived in it. And it was sitting on a 'yard' that had turned into quite the plot of land. Roger Grant ran their little slice of 'heaven' like it was a grand estate, despite the fact it would have been barely more than modest a few years ago.

He walked in through the front door, shrugging his shoulders after doing some work in the garden. Having the resources and space to grow food was going to make him much richer very soon.

Christina is going about her chores currently and is so preoccupied she forgets to curtsey Mr Grant when passing him in the hallway...

As he passed by where the maid was working, he noted that she didn't have much in the way of a greeting for him. Ingrate. He cleared his throat, and stopped walking, deciding instead to inspect the work she was doing, to make sure he was satisfied. That was not always the case.

"Christina, it doesn't look like you're quite done over here. You're not doing horribly, but I don't know that I'd call it good enough quality to excuse your lack of etiquette."
