A New Start on Life

[Princecloud]

Looking at the scenery outside a train window a young man stared at all the skyscrapers and fast cars, his tail wagging from sheer excitement. Everything looked like in the movies, the lights, people, the entire environment was nothing like he had ever seen before! As the train came to a stop he got off bouncing on his tippy toes before stretching, it had been a long 3 hour trip by trip by car and 6 hour trip by train to the great big city, from a small town in the middle of nowhere. He had never been alone, so being in a unfamiliar place plus that made him quite nervous.

Clutching his messenger bag close to his body he rushed down the stairs and started asking quite shyly for directions to some apartment place his uncle had gotten for him. It wasn't the best place in the world only a small studio apartment in the lower part of the city. Of course he didn't notice it til the scenery changed as he was driven there by taxi, it smelled like garbage, and people were in alleyways staring at him, some smoking heavily. He coughed making his way up to the gray building talking to the man in charge,"Um... I'm Basil Timothy Ashers... I have a studio apartment..",the pup told the man not sure what to make of the smirk on his face but it didn't seem good.

As soon as the key was given he rushed up locking the door falling back on the musty couch in the middle of the area.

[Angel]

Alistair, a black haired fox man in a dapper suit, was not a good match for this part of town. He was well off, a gentleman, and not... Sleazy.

He was in the area to try and find ways to assist the populace, though it was mostly obvious; Support food banks and soup kitchens, and clinics, etc.

The man was a popular professor at the local university, holding a PhD from the University of Michigan. Needless to say, he was smart... So when he saw the sleazy man eyeing a young Pomeranian with hungry eyes... Well, he stuck around in case he needed to intervene.

[Princecloud]

Basil had glanced around his new apartment before something came clear to him, or reminded him, a growl was heard from his stomach as he rubbed it heading straight for the door to get some food. But right before he reached the door, there was the owner and he was acting weird, breathing heavily and trying to hold him,"I gotta go mister!",the young man said before backing up, he'd never been in any situation before much less this one!

[Angel]

Alistair stepped in front of the boy, making his presence known.

"Hello, little pup. Are you alright?" he asked, not taking his eyes off of the creeper.

[Princecloud]

The hazel eyes looked up at Alistair both in relief and fear,"Noo. He's acting weird.",he responded his tail starting to shake as little tears came to his eyes. Basil had never been out of town, let alone by himself, it all seemed scary and he wanted to go home, wiping at his face slowly.

Alistair glared at the creep, who backed off rather quickly.

The tall, black haired fox knelt to the pup's level, and took a handkerchief out, wiping the boy's eyes.

"What's a gentle soul like you doing in a run down apartment like this?" he asked quietly.

[Princecloud]

Basil watched the newcomer carefully before sniffling softly as his eyes were wiped,"I just arrived here.. And it took so long to get to the city. But I can't go back the country. I don't have enough for that and it'll only prove I can't take care of myself.",he said looking quite sadly at the man. His ears were drooped, and he seemed quite sleepy yet he was very hungry but in the panic the pup had forgotten til his stomach growled slightly.

[Angel]

"Such a poor sweetling..." he murmured, and patted his head.

"You know... I have an offer for you. I'm always in need of a live in assistant... I have a big apartment, and the job for being an assistant is VERY easy. Just need to keep me company, and do a few chores here and there."

[Princecloud]

His ears perked up slightly,"You do? I can do it. I'll do my very best. You won't even know I'm there.",he said looking at Alistair as if he was the most amazing person ever.

[Angel]

Alistair chuckled softly, and gently ruffled the boy's cute hair.

"Defeats the purpose if I don't know you're there." he playfully joked with him. "Shall we head to my car with your things?"
