A day of school had come to an end. David made his way across the schoolyard, backpack slung across his arm. It was filled almost to bursting point with books. He was a voracious reader, especially of literature that dealt with mental disorders and special needs. He wasn't at all sure he completely understood everything he was reading, nor did he know which of many conflicting theories he ought to follow, but teenaged curiosity led him on. He planned to grab a sandwich and then get home, read until he had just enough time to complete his homework before dinner and bed, then read at the table till he fell asleep. He'd wake up at midnight to watch some television, then fall asleep again and arrive at class bleary-eyed and barely alive, as usual. In other words, it was an ordinary afternoon for him.

While walking, David saw a girl sitting on the bench by the road. David haven’t seen her in the campus before and she seemed nervous. David approached the girl and said with a friendly smile:”Hi, my name is David. May I help you? You look like you need a hand.”

Mary is a 16 year old girl who lived in the countryside. She and her family just moved in town and started a new life. After the first day of school, Mary felt frustrated since she was unfamiliar with the environment and she was too shy to befriend others. She sat on the bench by the road and start wondering how can she survive another day.

David, noticing a girl sitting near the road, couldn't help but to slow down. Why would she be sitting on a bench? This wasn't the bus stop.
"Hey, there," he said softly. "What's the matter?" She didn't exactly look joyful.
