"Dante, ¡Cállate!" Miguel hissed at the Xolo dog, batting his hand back as the mutt whimpered and whined for Miguel to go back. Miguel had once again fought with his family, while they accepted that he wanted to be a musician they believed his school work should come first and because Miguel's grades had been slipping the past few weeks, his Abuelita confiscated the guitar he'd been given on his thirteenth birthday. However, Miguel knew one guitar that he would still be able to use. The thirteen year old marched through the cementerio and up to the mausoleum which now held his great Grandpa's coffin and more importantly right now---his guitar.

"If I can't play music here, then I'm going to play in the land of the dead." Miguel told himself, breaking into the mausoleum by bashing in the window, like he'd done the first time. , It wasn't dia de los Muertos, so no one would hear him for miles. The cemetery was empty.

Miguel hurried over to the mounted guitar and smiled when he saw his reflection in the instrument, seeing this guitar brought back memories of last year, when he'd managed to save his Papa Héctor from being forgotten. "Rivera plaza, here I come." he smirked, taking the guitar down and strumming a single note. Like before, it granted him access to the bridge, which Miguel sprinted toward, an excited Dante scampering along behind him.

Even though he had come back to play music and be free from his familia's strict rules, he had also really missed his deceased familia, especially Héctor. Miguel ran through the security gate, "Hola!" he called out, and the woman skeleton waved.

"Hola Miguel!" she called out.

Miguel pulled up his hood and then walked down one of the back alleys where Héctor had gotten the shoe polish before. He grabbed a tin of white and black, and then tried to make his own face look more---dead. He did a fine job, but nowhere near as good as Héctor had. Miguel then turned to Dante, "What do you think, boy?"

Dante drew his ears back and whined, clearly not impressed.

Miguel laughed, "Aw, what do you know?" he teased and turned on his heel, putting the guitar strap around his body so the guitar hung upside down from his back. "Now we need to find Papa Héctor." he told the dog.

A year had passed, and yet it seemed like only a few days ago that Héctor finally got the happiness he deserved. Not only was he able to see his beloved daughter Coco again, but Imelda and his relationship was now stronger than ever. He had also rightfully got the fame and recognition he deserved, and with his photo up on the ofrenda now he could cross the bridge. However, despite having everything he had wanted and more there was one thing he missed. Miguel, his great great grandson. Sure he could see him on Dias Les Muertos, but it really wasn't the same. He couldn't talk to him, or hug him or anything like they did the first time they met.

Of course, another visit would be out of the question. Who knew what trouble could be caused by ANOTHER curse? Besides, as much as Héctor would of wanted to see Miguel again he'd rather wait until he had lived a while longer. Got married to a pretty senorita and had kids of his own. Today he was playing in the plaza. Normally he played alone. This particular day however Imelda had joined him. Her singing while he played the guitar. A unspoken word of love in their eyes as they gazed at each other while the crowds cheered and some tapped their foot to the music.

"Ay de mí, Llorona
Llorona de azul celeste
Ay de mí, Llorona
Llorona de azul celeste!" Imelda sang beautifully, despite the emotional meaning behind the song she was actually happy. Happy to be singing it with Héctor and not while trying to keep that monster who murdered the love of her life from getting the photo of Héctor back.

"Y, aunque la vida me cueste, Llorona
No dejaré de quererte
No dejaré de quererte
Me subí al pino más alto.." Suddenly, in mid song her eyes widened in shock and surprise. No it couldn't be..

"Miguel!?"

Héctor stopped playing,"No mi amor the next line is-MIGUEL!" He shouts in surprise, his jaw nearly dropping when he saw his great great grandson pushing through the crowd. Xoxo dog following happily behind him.

Dante, being the reliable spirit guide he was, started sniffing the cobbled path, looking for any of Miguel's family. Miguel followed, knowing if anyone could find his grandparents, it was Dante. Then, the hound started howling and he sprinted on ahead. Miguel's eyes widened and he gave chase, "Dante! Dante, espérame!" the boy called out, running after his dog. "Did you find Papa or Mama?" he asked when he finally caught up to the mutt, though before he could do anything else, his ears were filled with delightful music that he'd heard before.

"Ay de mí, Llorona." Miguel sang along very softly to himself. Opening his eyes again, Miguel recognised the voices singing, "You did it Dante!" he praised, petting the dog all over and laughing when Dante started licking him. Miguel hurried down the path to the plaza where a large crowd had gathered, "¡Mira!" Miguel pointed out his Papa Héctor and his Mama Imelda on the stage and he went to stand with the crowd so that he could enjoy the performance. He had never seen them sing together before, and it was simply bello.

Then, the grandparents noticed him and Miguel figured out right away that they were incredibly shocked and not in a good way, "Heh---hola Mama Imelda, Papa Héctor." he said nervously from the crowd, feeling awkward now that all eyes were on him.

Shocked was putting it lightly. Imelda was worried and also a bit furious. Wondering what idiotic stunt her great great grandson managed to wind up in the Land of the Dead again. Héctor was a mixture of worried, shocked, and delighted. Delighted to see Miguel again, but shocked that he was there, and worried about how he got there.

"Ay.." Héctor looked from Imelda, to Miguel and then to the mumbling crowd,"Lo siento everyone. It uh seems we have a family matter to handle." He said, beckoning Miguel to follow them backstage. Once they were backstage he wasn't sure whether to hug him or ask him what he was doing there.

He was ready to do both, but Imelda beat him to it. We, the asking him what he was doing there part anyway,"Miguel Rivera!" Imelda barked sternly, glaring down at the nervous boy,"What have you done this time?" She asked..already knowing it wasn't good. Judging by the nervous look Miguel had she knew he'd done something pretty naughty.

"Did you steal from the dead again Chamaco?" Héctor asked.

Miguel nodded when he was beckoned to follow his family back stage, and he wormed his way through the crowds, "Pardon me, sorry." he said a few times before then ending up back stage where his Grandparents showed expressions of concern and confusion, and Mama Imelda also looked rather stern. Miguel had learned that his Mama Imelda could be a frightening woman, but she was also very loving and family oriented. The young boy winced when Imelda barked his name and glared down at him, asking him what he'd done this time.

Then, his Papa Héctor asked him if he had stolen from the dead, his tone was gentle and calm and Miguel moved closer to him, eventually wiggling his way behind the skeleton so that he could somehow shield him from Imelda's wrath. "No Papa..." he answered and then thought back to what he'd done. "Well---kind of." he changed his answer. He wasn't about to tell his familia that he'd run away from home and his failing grades, instead he would tell them he wanted to see his Papa's guitar again, and when he touched it he ended up in the land of the dead.

It was a lie but Imelda and Héctor had no reason not to believe him.

"I-I wanted to see Papa Héctor's guitar again. I started to miss you guys." he explained, sounding convincing. "Only---when I touched it, I ended up here." he held onto one of Héctor's ribs and peered up at him with those large brown puppy dog eyes. "Don't be mad Papa Héctor." he pleaded.

Héctor, despite adoring his great great grandson would not protect him from Imeldas wrath. Not only because he was a little bit afraid of her wrath. Okay, he was very afraid of her wrath. But, he also knew that whatever Miguel had done warranted punishment. When Miguel seemed to struggle for a direct answer, his eyes narrowed then. He knew the teenager was lying, and he didn't appreciate it.

"Miguel..No apreciamos mentir." He said sternly. Telling Miguel they didn't appreciate lying, but he sighed when Miguel gave him puppy dog eyes and told him not to be mad. That actually melting his non existing heart.

"Well..I guess I can't be too mad at--

"Not be too mad!?" Imelda interrupted, and lightly pushed Héctor aside,"Idiota! Of course we should be mad! Not only is he lying about why and how he is here, but I know there's another reason why he's here too!" She yelled, her temper flaring and she crossedid her arms at her grandson,"Miguel..You have one more chance to tell your Papa and I the truth." She said sternly.

"I'm not lying Papa!" Miguel answered, which in itself was a lie. He did feel terrible lying to them like this but if they knew the main reason he was here, they'd try and send him back, and Miguel didn't want to go back. A small smile began forming on his young, painted face when his Papa Héctor told him that he couldn't be too mad at him, however that was short lived as Imelda's temper reached boiling point and she lightly pushed her husband aside to speak directly to her grandson, telling him he had one more chance to tell them both the truth.

If they didn't believe that lie---then he would have to tell another lie, something more believable. He racked his brain and then he finally came up with something both believable and very, very naughty to lie about.

"The---the truth is. I---I just wanted to be here with you guys. Back home, Mama, Papa, Abuelita all give my baby sister tons of attention---and I wanted to come see you guys because I'd get you to myself." he explained, trying to sound as genuine as possible even if this was a very deep lie. "Lo siento, I just miss having some familia to spend time with me." he looked up at Héctor and he could see the skeleton felt bad for him, so Miguel walked closer to him, knowing Héctor was easier to get around.

"Can I stay for un poco?" he asked pleadingly. "Por favor?" he didn't think his papa would have anything against him staying, but it was Imelda he had to convince, she was a very stubborn woman but hopefully Héctor could butter her up.

"Please Mama Imelda?"

That it was a very naughty lie. A lie that Héctor, and even Imelda believed. After all, it was not uncommon for older siblings to get jealous of newer siblings and with Miguel now being a teenager it had to difficult adjusting to how much his life and he himself were changing. So, Imeldas temper soon deminished. She hadidn't to admit, despite her stubbornness and temper she did have a soft spot. Which Héctor and Miguel often seemed to get to.

"Come on mi amor..He came all this way to see us. Sure stealing the guitar was muy travieso, buy his heart was in the right place. One song and then we will talk about the stealing and sending him home?" The skeleton of a man asked. Giving his wife a look that could melt butter.

Had she had a nose Imelda would of pinched the bridge of it. She sighed and she glared at her Idiota of a husband,"I can't believe this is the one moment where you've got me to change my mind over something. I'll let you play.." When Miguel started to get excited, she held up her finger,"But, after this and visiting your other familia here you'll be going straight home..Understood?"

Miguel was surprised when his lie seemed to fool them, and he would have given a small cheer of triumph had it not been obvious. The boy looked up at his Papa Héctor and listened as he said that stealing the guitar was muy travieso, "I didn't steal it---I borrowed it." the boy protested and then nodded eagerly when Imelda said she would let him play one song, "Gracias Mama Imel-" he stopped nodding and bouncing though when the skeleton woman said that after his song and visiting his other familia, he had to go straight home.

He frowned, "What?! But I want to stay here, at least for a week." he answered, he didn't want to go back home and face his familia, and then conform to their rules. He just wanted to play his music, he had hoped Héctor would understand since he was the only one who understood his passion for music, and once they were alone, Miguel would tell him the truth as he was sure Héctor would take his side in the matter.

"Can't I stay for a few days Mama Imelda? I'll be good, please?" he asked, trying out the puppy dog look on her, even if it was usually more effective with Héctor. "I want to play music with Papa Héctor for a long time,"

As much as Imelda would of liked for Miguel to stay longer ((Well not as much as Héctor would like him to)), she knew he couldn't stay for more then a few days. Despite what Miguel might think because of a new baby in the family the woman knew that the teens family was worried about him right now. Which was why, despite wanting him to stay, chose to give him a firm order that he would return home right after.

"Your mama Imelda is right mijo." Héctor said, as much as he would of liked to have his grandson there longer when it came to taking sides, he was going to take his wife's,"Your familia is probably worried sick.."

"Probably!? They are!" Imelda replied, and she leaned over to brush a strand of Miguels eye,"Listen Miguel..As hard as it is to believe your family is worried. Remember what My husband and I had you promise? Never forget how much your family loves you. Just because theres a new baby doesn't mean you're loved less. So, take my offer. Sing Poco Locco, visit your famila, and go straight home. Or, continue arguing and go home without a song."
