Ryobn was in the signal academy, having a sword she was given to from her mother. her mother was..well..the best. she just had to train..which wasn't what she liked at all...but she had to do it anyways
"hm...what if I didn't have to do it"? she muttered

and that's when she just put down her weapons and began to just...slack off..or take a break was her excuse. she's been doing this for the past week...hanging out with her other three friends sometimes as well.

when she entered into the signal academy, she grabbed her sword as she began to do some practice moves with it, but her phone wouldn't stop buzzing..probably cause her friends were texting her..she'll have to ignore it for now

Ruby rose smiled to herself as she had just returned from her latest intense combat mission, exterminating Grimm along the outskirts of vail, she had just returned to some rather unfortunate news about her daughter slacking off in classes bringing home poor grades and not really trying in her training.

Now ruby did hold some of the blame over herself, having not been paying much attention to young Robyn the past few months she knew how much Robyn missed her when she had to go, ruby had decided to take a bit of a break from her work as a huntress and focus more on her other fulltime job of being a mom. These thoughts ran through her head as she approached her daughter who was training in the field she stopped short to observe her with her sword and smile a little to herself feeling pride that the weapon she’d made her was becoming so useful.

Robyn began swinging the sword more as she tried to ignore her phone. "man..my friends are chatty". she grumbled as she put her sword down for a moment. "okay...let me see what they want....wouldn't hurt to check". she checked through her messages, not noticing her mom around the corner

after a few minutes, she put her phone away and muttered something under her breath about bratty friends before continuing her training. she looked over for a minute and saw her mom, yelping in surprise as she almost dropped her sword. "hey Mom"! she made a brightful smile as she held her sword tightly

She looked a mix of stern and happy “honey you should never touch your phone during battle, even if it’s just training, this is where you form bad habits and techniques that can get you killed.” She informed her as she closed her scythe holding it under her arm, she strode across the grassy field closing the distance before she bent down and hugged her tightly “I missed you a lot.” She said happily.

"sorry mom...just my friends texting me and stuff..it got annoying after a while". she chuckled as she rubbed her head. "it wasn't important anyways". she muttered. she saw her mother come up to her and..she smiled when she was hugged and hugged back tightly. "I miss you to mom". she actually did...besides her training..her mother was more important to her

“Well I’m glad about that because I have some big news, I’ve decided to take a step back from my work as a huntress and take on a position at this school, how does that sound?” She asked curiously knowing her friends were all still in this area made her decision much easier.

"hm? what news"? she then heard her idea and groaned. great...her mom being here...she'll definitely have to try her best at trying to train and be..a bit more sneaky when talking to her friends..which will be futile at this point. "oh..yeah..that's great mom".

She smiled a little “you’re so cute when you’re brushing me off like that.” She commented “how about you call it quits for the day and we can go get lunch? I’d love to catch up.” She added as her hands were behind her head.

She smiled “good father your things so we can go.” She instructed as she moved to go back towards her car.
