Elemental Academy (for GloriousDeath)
Just as the earth is divided into four hemispheres, there are four main elements - earth, fire, air and water. Once, there were people who had the power to manipulate these elements by using supernatural forces. As time passed, those who possessed these powers became more numerous, but the wielders who weren't naturally gifted in the use of these powers vastly outnumbered those who were, so they honed their skills by learning at the feet of those who were more talented and by training.
The power of fire originated in the Southern Hemisphere. The power of water originated in the Northern Hemisphere, and the powers of earth and air originated in the Western and Eastern Hemispheres respectively. As people traveled, mixed and mingled, however, the powers also mixed and mingled across continents. These days, each hemisphere was ruled over by an all-powerful monarch as though it were a single country, though the Hemispheres were still composed of many different nations. In each hemisphere, in the country and city where its monarch resided, there was a special academy that was dedicated to the hemisphere's most prominent element. But it was the Eastern Hemisphere, in the country of Uniosen, that had not only the Ethereal Academy, but also the Global Academy of all Elements.

"*Yaaawn* what a drag, do we seriously start tomorrow?" complained a teen as he flipped through a thick textbook. His bluish-grey hair unkept from the late hours as he looked over the text with his eyes, covered with big round glasses "Can't we wait until next week? It feels like we just got here.". If one were to look, the book he was holding was a history book, the chapter he was on chronicled the beginning of the so-called 'Elemental War'.
"Ugh, I dunno, sitting here all day will eventually get boring, but on the other hand all the stupid rules of the academy make it even more annoying." a younger voice rang out. It belonged to Zephyr, a 10 year old kid who was currently relaxing by laying on his back on the couch, his legs kicking up into the air.

"I wish it were today already," moaned little brown-haired, brown-eyed 11-year-old Ayla. "Summer's so boring in Ardi City when everyone's off visiting their families and we're still here. We might as well go to school. Ooh, Leith, what's that? No fair. I want to be in your grade and learn about the War, too."
"Stop doing that, Zeph," 15-year-old Areyalani scolded. "It's so rude. Are you ready for dinner, or are we all going to lie around complaining all night?"
The four children, Leith, a water wielder, Zephyr, an air wielder, Areyalani, a fire wielder, and Ayla, an earth wielder, were all orphans and had lived together for a few years. Areyalani and Leith did their best to look after the youngest two, who tried to return the kindness in their own ways.

"It's a history book, there's lots of those." Leith said as he slightly tilted his book to show her. "And Ayla, you already know the story, everyone does. 'The elementals seemingly show up out of nowhere, the hemispheres unite to fight back, win and then everyone gets a happily ever after'..." he began "...if not for how important it was for establishing the current peace we enjoy I'd suspect that the only reason everyone talks about it so much is because unlike most conflicts, this one was entirely morally uncomplicated." he added in, with a bit of a pessimistic tone.
"How can it be rude if no one who would be offended can see it?" asked Zephyr with a smirk before perking up at the mention of dinner. Jumping to his feet he smiled "Dinner? Well why didn't you say so first?".

"I didn't understand anything you just said," the little girl complained. "You shouldn't use such fifty-cent words."
Areyalani put an arm around little Zephyr and led him into the kitchen, where she began serving plates. "Leith thinks that the main reason why people talk so much about the Elemental War is that it doesn't take alot of work to decide who was on the right side or who was in the wrong."
"Well, I think he's wrong. And I bet if I could just find one really detailed book about the Elemental War, we'd find out more about the lives of all those people, and they'd be so much more interesting than that!"

"I'm simply using proper vocabulary Ayla." Leith defended himselff "And as for you point, well, I'd love to find something that would shed more light on this historic moment it seems rather unlikely. It seems that almost everything, even the names of major players on both sides were lost. And if you excuse this conspiracy theory of mine, perhaps even intentionally so.".
Zephyr sat down, staring at his plate "So, can I begin eating already?" he asked impatiently.

"Oh," Ayla sighed. "That's too bad. This sucks."
"WHAT sucks?" Areyalani demanded. "This meal I made, or what Leith said?"
"Both. I hate broccoli."
"Oh, Ayla. Yes, Zeph, you can eat now. Afterwards, I want you to put your school uniform together and bring it to me to iron, then brush your teeth."

"You probably shouldn't use such strong language." warned Leith "While we tolerate it, some of the academy staff might not. And it's best to put your best food forward.". He then looked over his plate "Well, even if it isn't my favorite arrangement, I suppose the health benefits win over here.".
"Eh, I just don't have a strong sense of taste, so I never got what was so bad about it." said Zaphyr while chewing. Swallowing he then rolled his eyes "Oh, darn it. Those stupid uniforms, do we really have to wear those stupid things.".

"Strong language? You mean 'sucks'? Is 'sucks' a bad word?"
Areyalani wasn't thrilled to see that none of her friends were enthusiastic about the meal she'd spent three-fourths of an hour cooking, but nothing could be done about that. "Laith is right, Ayla. You shouldn't say 'sucks' in school. It isn't a bad word in itself, but supposedly it's half of an ugly phrase. And, Zeph, sweetie, don't complain again about the uniform. I'm not sure why were forced to go to school in uniform, but we're lucky to have the chance to go to the Academy at all."

"It's part of many uncooth phrases actually." Laith half-mindedly mentions. "As for how uniform became standart, I belive it was both to foster discepline and to make it easier to recognize students at multi-Academy ventures." he explained "It hasn't really changed, but now it's also traditional.". "Speaking of that, are your uniforms prepared? Because the academy has very strict dress code vialation guidelines." Leith asked the two girls.
Finishing his meals, Zephyr stood up "Fine, I'll get it ready." he said, leaving for his room.
