Star Wars: Light And Dark

3,000 years before the Galactic Empire, the Republic was at peace. The Jedi Order protected the galaxy and the Republic, their commitment to the light strong. And sometimes to protect that light the Jedi had to step between two sides of a war, as Master Gavin had been called to do on the outer rim. As the human male prepared to jump his ship to hyperspace he received a distress call.

"Looks like we'll have to delay our return to the temple, I've just gotten a distress call from a group of archeologists." He said over the intercom to his close friend Master Kamarie.

“Does there call say anything about what they’ve uncovered?” *Kamarie asks, brushing some non-existent dust off of her white robes.*

"Just that they need us immediately." Gavin shrugged. "Bandits, pirates maybe?"

He took the ship in closer to the nearby planet where the signal originated from, getting a strange look as they neared the atmosphere. "Look, see those craters? That's the telltale sign of orbital laser fire. This planet has been scarred by war."

“They don't look recent...” I comment, pulling out a set of binoculars and zooming in on the terrain below. “Maybe they where here to examine the recks of ancient ships of something like that?” I suggest.

"I thought there was something familiar about this." Gavin said as the ship dropped out of hyperspace. "This system was the site of some major battles during the old Sith wars a thousand years ago. And according to the coordinates they've sent, they've been digging around a Sith stronghold." He added as he brought the ship in over the desert landscape, still cratered from orbital bombardment even after a thousand years.

"It's possible they dug up some sort of Sith weapon." He said while steering for what appeared to be an ancient base of some kind, preserved by the desert. A small crowd of humans could be seen standing next to a make-shift camp and landing pad. As he landed the symbol of Czerka Corp. was clearly visible on everything.

"I should have guessed. Who else but Czerka would be trying to dig up relics of the Sith?" Gavin sighed while opening the hatch.

“It’s odd, they can’t use most of what they find.” I say, a slightly disturbed look crossing my face. “Maybe have access to force users of some sort...” *I suggest, shivering slightly at the idea of Czerka having access to someone who could use Sith artifacts.*

"The black market most likely." Gavin said as before they were approached by a red-haired human woman wearing the uniform of a Czerka researcher, flanked on either side by guards.

"Greetings Jedi." She began. "I'm Alias Ran, and I'll cut right to the chase. A research specimen has escaped into these ruins and I want you to retrieve it."

“Have you been experimenting in Tukata or something?” *I ask, placing my hands on my hips and squinting suspiciously at Ran.*

"Not exactly." Ran began.

"About a week ago my team punched through a tunnel filled with debris into a small room. Inside was a specimen in a red energy field of some sort. According to our scanners it was still alive."

"What kind of specimen?" Gavin asked, getting a bad feeling.

"We believe it was a Sith." Ran replied. "A living Sith, held in stasis since the time of Revan."

I bury my head in my hands.

“What type of sith?” I ask. “Was it a human who followed the ideology, or was it one of the species?” I glance at Gavin, a little worried that he’ll suggest killing them is it’s the former.
