Today, wasn't a day like many others. For, this day. Robotnik had taken over 90% of Mobius and all of Mobotropolis, which is now Robotropolis thanks to his Robotisizer and army of Swat Bots, not to mention his nephew, Snively. Everything went into Chaos and panic. Kids went missing or were lost in the panic Parents turned up dead, missing, or Robotisized by being captured. Anyone who tried to fight would end up in Robotnik's dungeon to be dealt with later.

But one day, the people had enough. They banded together and tried rebelling. They raised shipments. They blew up factories. They even tried taking out a good number of Robotnik's defenses, but sadly, all was in vain as people started to notice they're past loved ones turned into slaves for a monster. Once Robotnik sicked them on the people, they were captured or got away because they lost the will to fight. But that didn't stop them from rebelling. The peope who fought Robotnik for peace back to into their homes and freedom for the enslaved were known as.... The Freedom Fighters!

They fought time and time again to regain their homes and families back for years to come. There was one in particular who was on Robotnik's Most Wanted list. And that was Sonic the Hedgehog, otherwise known as the Blue Blur. He used to fight as a trump card for the Freedom Fighters considering his ability to move faster than the speed of Sound. But now he's fighting on the front lines, with his best friend and girlfriend, who is also the leader of the resitance, Sally Acorn, Princess of Mobotropolis. Her father, The King, had went missing right after Robotnik took over, no one knew of his whereabouts or even if he was still alive.

Now moving on to two of their Top Elite and Youngest Fighters. Here we have 15 year old Midnight The Hedgefox. What is a Hedgefox you ask? It's a hybrid between a Fox and Hedgehog. Yes, it's unnatural, but it was love that made him, so what are you gonna do?

He has Dark Blue and Black Fur. Violet Eyes and two Fox tails. He has similar speed to Sonic the Hedgehog and has flight capabilities like Miles Prower, a.k.a Tails. His main abilities are Shadow and Phasing. Shadow means that he can make a clone of him self and use them to fake out an opponent sort of like an afterimage. Phasing means he can pass through things swiftly and quitely, while being hit, he can use the ability to get behind his opponent to counter and strike.

Rodrigo is somewhat of a unique case among the Freedom Fighters. He is the same age as Midnight....but he is living proof that an entire race can't be considered evil by the faults of their greatest enemy. The boy....is an Overlander.

He was very wrong when he ran away from a war among the Overlanders,rather sent away by his parents who he never knew.

How surprised was Julian Kintobor to see such a young Overlander reach the Acorn Kingdom as he had! A possible future ally....or a great threat to his plans,perhaps.

For you see,while today,if asked why he tries to find and eliminate the boy as much as he does Sonic or Sally,despite Rodrigo apparently not being a threat to the same level as they are.....Robotnik was afraid of him. Why?

Because of his very existence as an Overlander.....only one who stayed loyal to the House of Acorn,unlike Robotnik himself! The boy was too young when he arrived,that's right-but Robotnik was infamous among his peers....what knowledges might the young boy have buried within him,either forgotten, or ignored due to how young he was at the time? Julian alone allowed the Mobians to turn the tables against the Overlanders and banish them. How can be sure that young Rodrigo,so loyal to the Mobians who adopted him as one of their owns, might not one day remember something,anything,that might help them actually end his rule?!

Of course,if asked,he'll never admit it,only saying he hates the boy for being a traitor in not siding with him.

....And yet,Rodrigo isn't aware of this. While one of the Top Elites,his job is to protect the mobians instead of joining the Princess and her squad in the frontlines. Rodrigo is the most skillfull swordsman...or being 15 qualifies him as a "swordsboy" among the Freedom Fighters,and learned much about strategy himself,training incredibly hard to make up for lack of natural powers. But he was often frustrated that Sally won't let him join the frontlines.

This happened because Rodrigo doesn't know about Robotnik's wanting to eliminate him-but Sally does! As mentioned,Rodrigo was very young when he arrived-and thus was often on the palace Sally feels as if she has a sisterly responsability to him,and wants him out of the frontlines for his own safety.

...embarassingly threatening Rodrigo with a Royal Spanking if he ever disobeyed her.....

(Lol,I thought it would be funny and a bit embarassing if Amy's big brother had also a "big sister" himself to take care and spank him occasionally. Specially since Sally is pretty good on this,as she was an adoptive aunt for little Tails on the series. And maybe Sonic can even get on Sally's nerves by asking why she is so adamant on letting Rodrigo away from the frontlines when learning strategy like her and being so good with a blade, he and Midnight could help a lot on the frontlines! ^_^ )

Even so they were still both equally skilled fighters. Secretly, Sonic and Midnight had taken Rodrigo on front line missions. And made sure Sally was none the wiser. There were a few occasions where Rodrigo has almost gotten caught for trying to go out on his own fight, luckily he managed to get covered up by Sonic, who told a lie to save him Sally turned back and was out of sight. Sonic grabbed Rodrigo and ran off to the border to fight Swat Bots that had gotten too close to finding their borders and discovering their base.

Midnight could go solo on night missions. He brings Rodrigo with him, but only on his terms. He knows about Sally and her strictness over the Overlander, so he does his best to lay low on sneaking him out for a few missions.

But today, was an exception, for Sally had given Midnight and Rodrigo an order to scout the forest surrounding Knothole. She gave Rodrigo the South and East part of the forest and gave Midnight the North and West part.

Rodrigo searched on the ground,specially since Sally would have a fit if he tried to climb a tree and swing in vines only to fall. Being an Overlander without natural powers like Sonic's or Midnight's had disadivantage...

....however,in actuall battle Rodrigo was the same as Sally-both do not use super powers,only extreme skill and strategy! So Rodrigo made up for his lack of powers with extreme skill training.

Suddenly for Rodrigo, sounds of grunts and horrible Metal pounding could be heard from where he was.

For Midnight, he heard sniffling and whimpering. He went to go see what it was.

The sniffling was louder and louder as he approached.

By the time he got there, he saw there was a pink Hedgehog, holding a Hammer standing near scraps of Metal and Parts.

Midnight got closer and saw the source of the crying.
