Default The Winter Warrior Princess (For Fenrir13)

After several very bad days in a row Arya has really hoped today would be different. So far she had no such luck. First her father had been hurt, then just as it seemed like he was getting better the King died. Things had been pure chaos after that. Men tried to take her from her dance lesson, one of the Kingsguard among them. She got away but she hadn't seen Syrio since. She didn't think he had made it. She had spent days on the street, trying to get by with nothing but the clothes on her back and the thin sword at her hip. Then the worst. Her own father was...

She didn't remember much after that. She some how ended her down by the docks. She remembered seeing someone in the distance that she thought was was Syrio. She had rushed to catch up to him, getting lost in the crowd of sailors and dock hands, but once she got close she could see that is wasn't him, just someone with a passing resemblance.

After getting her hopes up if even for just a moment the realization was like a fresh blow. She hadn't payed attention to where she was going after that. Until she hear a commotion and saw some of the Goldcloaks poking around. Afraid that they might be looking for her she found herself a hiding spot, her small sized letting her slip into a small a mostly full crate easily enough.

She wasn't sure how long she hid there before she felt the crate getting lifted and moved. She had panicked at first but then the crate was set back down and she realized that the gentle rocking she felt was because she had had been placed abord one of the ships. She didn't dare leave her hiding space until she was sure there was no one to catch her thought she she tried to bide her time. As hungry and tired as she was she probably shouldn't have been surprised that she eventually nodded off, the gentle rocking of the ship lulling her to sleep.

Which lead to her latest problem. Namely getting woken up by a very disgruntled sailor. She was still trying to wake up enough to figure out what was going on as she was drug out of her hiding spot by someone who seemed to be doing a lot of yelling and cursing without actually really saying anything. Arya of course responded on instinct, kick and trying to draw her sword. It did her little good and soon she was swordless and being dragged out onto the deck, her feet nearly leaving the ground as both her small wrists were held together above her head in a single large hand. In such a position she neither kick, nor punch, nor bite at her captor and her Needle was in the sailor's free hand.

It wasn't till she was brought out into the bright light and of morning sun that she got a look around and realized they weren't in port any more. Some time after she fell asleep the ship had apparently left King's Landing, and taken her with it. She stopped her futile struggles briefly as that sunk in. Where were they going? More immediately where was she being dragged off to? Most importantly of all, what was going to happen to her?

The Sea Serpent was a proud Tyroshi ship that had come to Kings Landing to Trade Tyroshi colours in exchange for the masterful Westerosi weapons and armors that were produced there. They had a special deal with a Northern mercenary company to sell the good Kings Landing steel to them for an espacially good price.
Syrapho Hotanar was the captain of the ship. He was a tall, broad shouldered Tyroshi man who wore bright yellow clothes and had short blue hair and a blue goatee. In his belt he had a curved long knife, and a Dothraki Arakh, which he cherished. He was standing by the wheel as a muscular sailor brought a gaunt little girl to him, which had apparently been caught sneaking onto his ship. The Tyroshi looked over the girl critically, arms akimpo and then kneeled down, grabbing her chin to make her look into his fierce green eyes. "Who are you girl that you dare to sneak on the ship of Syrapho Hotanar, master of the eastern sea?!", he yelled at her,"Speak fast until I put my foot up your ass and kick you back into the cold water were you belong, you little rat!" Some of the sailors chuckled. But his tough attitude was mostly for show, trying to esablish respect between himself and the girl. He would probably just make her peel onions and potatoes, for a place on the ship. Syrapho was not an unkind man. They could feed a little orphan well enough, until they found a proper place for her.

Arya stumbled forward towards the man that was apparently the captain, the sailor who caught her more throwing then releasing her. She glared at the man as he started yelling at her, her indignation at her treatment only adding to that of the last few days and bringing her swiftly towards a boiling point. Normally she might have been cowed, or at least thought about where she was and what was going on, but at the moment she was just not thinking straight.

"I didn't mean to sneak on your stupid ship," she yelled right back slapping her hand away. "I
was just hi-er napping in a box and woke up here. Maybe you and your stupid men should be more careful. You practically kidnapped me." The words were coming out faster then she was really even thinking them and it took a moment for her to consciously consider that last bit. There was a momently pause before she did and her face clearly showed that she had just gotten an idea. "Yeah you kidnapped me! You could be in big trouble if you don't take me home to Win-er um White Harbor." She quickly correct that last bit, going with the name of the North's major harbor then her actual home. If she could get there she'd be safe enough anyways. "And give me my sword back," she decided to add on to her demands standing as tall as she could although she looked more like an angry kitten then any kind of true threat.

Syrapho laughed at the threat, finding her more cute then threatening or even bratty. It was a haughty laugh but the smile was genuine. "A street rat with the pride of a noblewoman! This isnīt something you see all day. Alright, little rat. You can have a place on my ship. But we wonīt be going to White Harbor anytime soon. I have a shipment of arms and armor that I need to deliver...and I usually donīt trade with Northeners. Alltough there are some Northeners among the buyers. You are better advised to save money until you can afford the passage. If you help the crew on the ship, maybe clean the floors, I will give you some coin. Just donīt be a brat. I donīt mind a sharp witt and a little sass, but if you cross the line youīll end up over my knee and will be very sorry indeed, are we clear?!", he said, speaking loudly and proudly as your typical Tyroshi, thinking he was being generous to this kid who stumbled into his care.

(Which port should they go to in your opinion? And what was the name of the mercenary company again?)

Arya's face began to heat up and her hands curled into tight fists at her sides. Was this man really just laughing at her? After everything the last few days for him to just... there was practically steam coming out of her ears as she starting to strongly consider giving the man a solid kick where it would do the most damage.

So angry was she that she almost missed what he was saying entirely, however the comment about meeting some Northerners caught her attention. If that was true... well she wasn't really sure where they were going outside the North where he expected to run into Northerners but if they were men properly loyal to her father then they'd have no problem taking her straight home! It sounded like all she had to do was keep her head down until they got there and then she'd be in the clear.

"Fine," she eventually grumbled crossing her arms over her chest and glaring down at the man's feet. She just needed to keep her cool until he sent her on her way. No doubt as long as she kept herself out of this man's line of sight he'd forget all about her after this conversation. The comment about being taken over his knee went completely over her head, the idea of someone other then her parents doing such a thing seeming far to bizarre to seriously consider. After a beat however her self control slipped a little and she looked back up to glare at the Captain's face. "But I want my sword back," she demanded.

(Hmm not too sure on the port. Braavos or Pentos maybe? I think Pentos is closer and a fairly short hop from King's Landing, while Braavos would probably have more tempting things that might get Arya in trouble later for wandering off.

As for the company I think we threw up some ideas but never decided between them. How about we go with The Sons of Snow, cause I like alliteration. lol)

Syrapho noticed the blush and how the girl curled her fist. Apparently she wasnīt used to not getting her way. Maybe a rich merchants daughter who had fallen on hard times? But then she agreed to his proposal. "I am sure youīll do fine. You will have your fair share of work but I treat my crew well as long as everybody does their part.", the Tyroshi said and came a bit closer to Arya. "Welcome onboard the Sea Serpent.", he greeted her and gently patted her head in a friendly manner. The gesture was meant to be comforting but it would probably only anger Arya further. Then that glare! The kid had an attitude so much was certain! Hopefully she would obey, otherwise the spanking threat will not have been idle!
"You want your sword back? Alright, you can have it. I donīt mind girls playing with weapons. BUT handle it with care and donīt injure any of my crew or we are going to have a serious talk. Is that clear?!", he told her in a commanding tone.

(Hm, I think Pentos then. Or are there some other locations maybe? Yunkai for example? But I donīt know right now if you can even reach it by sea. I just think they should have a longer voyage. Sons of Snow sounds good. Just not a lot of Snow in Essos xD But I guess its a refrence to their origins.)

"Yeah, okay," Arya agreed grumpily but without much heat. She had expected a bit more of a fight then that but was glad to not lose such a precious thing. She then promptly turned away from the Captain to give the sailor with her sword a pointed look. "You heard him. Give it here," she demanded holding out a hand expectantly. She was not going to risk someone trying to pull something as soon as the man who had agreed wasn't looking. She wanted her sword back right now and then the rest could work itself out.

(Either Pentos or Yunkai works, whichever you prefer. I'm almost positive you can reach Yunkai by sea seeing as they had ships to try to bribe Dany with. If we go that route however that could lead to some clashes between Arya and the Sons if they are actively working for slavers, considering she's grown up in slavery opposed Westeros. On the other hand depending on how long they stay there she could cross paths with Dany if you wanted her to end up over a Mother of Dragon's lap. lol)

(Then Yunkai would be better I think. Not sure if I want her to meet Dany. Does that fit with the time line?)

"Here, little brat. But don't start making any trouble with it or else", the sailor warned and handed over the blade, handle first.A smile made his words seem less harsh.
"Alright, now start making yourself useful. Dinner will be served in about three hours.", the captain said and gestured towards the busy crew.

Arya gladly took her sword back and hugged it tight to her chest, being careful of the blade. It was the last thing she really had of home now. She didn't need to be told twice that she was dismissed and quickly made herself scarce. Of course since the Captain didn't tell her to report to anyone specific or give her any task in particular she set out to explore the ship, figuring she would quickly be forgotten once she was out of sight and out of mind. Besides there was a whole ship to discover and she couldn't wait to do so.

(Ehh I'm not sure off the top of my head. I think Ned's death and the dragon's birth took place around the same time so Dany should have her dragons and be wandering the desert at this point I think. No clue how long it takes before she starts liberating slaver's bay.)

The captain and the sailor chuckled lightly seeing how fond Arya was of her "toy". It wasn't long before Arya was made to work on the ship. While exploring another sailor handed a mop over to her. "Hey, girl. Help me mop the ship, will ya??", the sailor ordered and began the task of mopping the ship, singing a song of Tyrosh.
