RobM Art Contest 2008 - VOTING
The Vote is now on for the AotK 2008 Art Contest OVERALL Winner. The Artist who not only drew the best picture, but made the best adaption of the characters and the best use of their time and talents.
Remember, the Winner gets a prize of a 1,000 word story from me to be published here~ Their choice~
Artists, no voting for yourselves~
Please also post here if you enjoyed the contest, what you liked. Artists you thought did great backgrounds... and if you want to see me do this again?
As hard as each artist worked, I had to come up with the plot, dialogue, draw all the sketches which only the artists saw, collect it all together AND put up with some setbacks - a few of the artists artists who pulled out and will remain nameless~
The completed comic can be found here;
http://animeotk.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=795
So, talky, talky~
Topic: Did you like this one and want another for christmas?

This collaboration between nine different artists was an excellent idea and you deserve much praise for making it happen. The mix of styles and the diverse depictions of your characters were very enjoyable. I'd really like to see another similar project in the future.
A word about the story itself. It was F/F, one of my favorite pairings, with two very different ladies who both had the occasion to spank the other, which was very nice. The plot and the setting are not extremely original, but this was probably for the best since you had a high number of artists working on it separately. The recurrent yet diverse flower paintings were a nice touch. In the second half, the disappearing/reappearing hairbrush was pretty funny, although I guess that wasn't on purpose.
I'm in no way a good judge of art, but I'd say your sketches and ideas inspired some artists more than others. It is, of course, nothing surprising and would always happen in such a project.
I'd say Klauth was the most inspired. He is of course a very good artist but I think he outdid himself this time. The two pics he made for this project are perhaps his best on AOTK.
Getting into more details about the pages I liked more than others and comparing the artists to each other probably wouldn't be recommended by "How to Win Friends and Influence People" so I think I'll just pass. Suffice to say I enjoyed the work of all nine artists.

Just voted. Luved the contest. Next time you should ask the artists to incorporate a themed riddle or clue search of your making for the posters, that would rilly generate a buzz amongst the members. And the artists won't be able to know what the whole riddle/clue is due to not being able to see the whole thing until you post it.
Call it 'Spanking Mystery' or something along those lines. Anyway, just a suggestion. Luved the talented art, luved the action, luved the storyline. Great job everyone !!!!!!

I loved the contest. It was cool. All the pictures were great and I love the way the characters and background looked. Each picture had its own style and its own way of telling the story.

Well, as an artitst, who participated, I can also say this little project was interesting and great fun. I certainly think it was a great idea and I'm willing to participate in more contests and/or projects like this.
Rob, you did a good job with organizing and planning this too. The story about the two woman was interesting, with a few funny and entertaining twists along the way. Your sketches were clear enough, for me at least, to easily draw my own pictures based on it.
Well, since I have to vote for the overall winner here, the pictures that made me go "Wow", I must say I have to vote for Klauth and his two entries. They were extremely good artwise and his take on the characters was splendid too. Not to forget sexy ^^
I enjoyed the works of the other artists too of course and I think some emphasized other aspects of the characters than Klauth, like cuteness and the like. Still the overall winner for me is Klauth.

If we are voting for the most interesting take on the characters, it's a close one. For me, I can't really decide who gained that title, as the characters all really share that certain familiarity... As for the art and the thoughts that emerged from it, I have to say Klauth. The style and attention to detail, together with the delicious verisimilitude and evocative expression really got to me. It was stunning and sexy. I don't think this contest should be based on one's popularity, rather on what people felt when they viewed their favourite picture. It's odd how the contest is already spiraling, heh. Klauth for me, Klauth FTW, KlauthKlauthKlauth.
Good luck, guys!

Sheesh, we have to vote for ONE? Not fair, it's too hard to say! I want to give every artist a vote because they all did so well, and the comic wouldn't have been what it was without the help of each artist. Besides, how can you really call a winner?
Oh well.
I really enjoyed the comic, I wasn't surprised at it being F/F to match the likes of the majority of the site's members tastes, or at least compromise with the artists' willingness to participate. The plot line was predictable but delightful and classic. The characters are the best part of the story. Rob, you did great with coming up with colorful characters, especially Belle, who was the easiest to "personalize" for each artist, as you can see with each different artist, she was interpreted and presented uniquely. Their personalities were good too, though in the future a little more background on their lives and personas would be even better.
I feel like I shouldn't be ahead in the polls...I think every one else did wonderful jobs, and were a lot more unique with their character designs. I had a tough time choosing an artist for my vote, and ended up choosing Lady Shiroi. Why? Well, I think that she showed extra talent from her previous artworks in this contest. I have followed all of these artists, and all of their styles and techniques stayed fairly routine from their regular works to this contest. So when I chose, I thought "hm...who really really seemed to push themselves their own personal extra mile for this contest?" And the answer for me was Shiroi, because she really showed extra effort and talent (atleast in my eyes) and the most improvement. Maybe I shouldn't be biased based on other, previous and unrelated artworks, but if it just went by pure talent in this contest alone I would have never been able to choose just one. ^^;
