Bonjour! ^__^ Dunno if anyone's ever heard of this, but it looks fairly cute, and my skills 'au francais' are definitely not up to snuff to deal with it.

An author named Pierre Gripari once wrote a book called 'Le marchand de fessées' - which, translated, means 'the merchant of spankings'. Its a book apparently about a town where children never misbehave, and whose parents never have to punish them, so this merchant - he sells what appear to be birds called fessees (spankings) - has nothing to sell. Having never read the book, I don't know how accurate my description is, buuuut.......

Just take out the spaces, and check it out! ^_^ Its a whole animated cartoon about the story. Even if you can't speak French, the language has enough cognates (words that sound similar) that you might be able to pretend you understand a little of what's going on. It'd be a heckuvalot easier with actual human body language to help you translate, but the voices do help a bit.

Anywho. If anyone wanted to read, comment, translate, or summarize for we poor non-French speakers.... c'est bien, and we're tres grateful.... I know I am anyway.

not so good at french either I think the title should be just "parlez-vous francais?" or "qui parle francais?"

So the story:
First you see the little boy arguing with his father. He played with matches in his bed and the father says: "Oh dear..I miss the old time where a good spanking was given to naughty chidren." Then the narrator of the story says that "spankings" aren't given anymore and aren't sold nowadays. So a spanking was a bird (kinda spanking birds the fessées) So there was this merchant selling those spankings but the children where all polite and wellmannered so no need for the parents to buy a spanking. They were desperated. So the merchant tries to convince the boys and girls to be naughty. " You see it's fun to be naughty and saying rude words like: wee wee, breats, shit and so on...go in school and teach them to your friends and the teacher. I am sure she will be happy." and so the chidren go to school saying rude words. The merchants listens and thinks that now they will get spanked but the teacher says: " Oh those are rude words..but if you like to say them..I don't care."
And so on the evening the merchant tells the kids that they could do whatever they like and noone could stop them. So the kids agree: " Yeah we will do whatever we want without asking our parents." In the night the merchant looks arround and sees trough the windows. Children playing with water, with electricity and fire. He hears the parents shouting like: " But! What are you doing! No..stop!" Chuckling he returns but is soon decived. The parents talk to the children and don^t give them spankings. Desperate he and the birds make a circus show and get the children to open the cage and then the spankings fly out and begin to spank the kids. The merchant is laughing loudly and suddenly the birds turn away from the kids and fly to the merchant spanking him. Then the strongest spanking in the world comes and spanks the merchants bottom. growling and humiliated he returns in his shop. he couldn^t sit down for a month after the spanking. (lol) Then he changes the spanking shopinto a candy shop. The spankings return into nature and lived their happily.
