Loup Garou (for Croup)
Tam looked at the horizon, waiting for the natural satellite to rise. He knew he was outside of the range of the den and transforming so near the "normals" was strictly forbidden.
But he was tired of being ordered about, espicially by their pack leader. Oh, that guy pissed him off. One day they would have a fight and Tam would show him who's boss.
But that day was still some time away. In the meanwhile he had to grow and get stronger. Besides, what were those stupid humans going to do to him anyway? He was stronger, faster and much more intimidating than any of their full-grown males once he had transformed. Not much longer now....
He took off his shirt in anticipation of his Lycan transformation, all the time watching the luminescent moon sluggishly rise.

Following the whelp's tracks with a snarl, Rendul cursed over and over to himself. The idiot had to go off by himself on tonight of all nights? Right when the moon would be at it's fullest? He knew what the fool was planning. Messing with the humans, an act that was strictly forbidden in Rendul's pack. Ahh, the arrogance of youth. Didn't Tam realize that even if they were stronger and faster in their wolf forms, by the light of day the humans were more numerous and had weapons to take them down? He would need to be punished for this breach, and Rendul knew just what to do to get his attention.
As the moon rose over the scarred landscape, Rendul could feel the change coming over him. He didn't even bother to strip out of his clothes, but let them rip as his muscles grew larger, longer. Grey hairs sprouted all over his body, and by the end of the transformation a powerful werewolf stood where before there had been a man. Rising up onto his haunches, he let out a baying howl, thanking the moon for her gift and also letting Tam know he'd be coming for him. Then he lowered his snout down to the prints. This would make tracking much easier, anyway.

Tam heard Rendul's howl, but he didn't take notice. Deep in the heart of the village, the fool would have to take his time finding him. One good thing about the incredibly horrible smell that plagued the human villages was that the pack leader would have trouble sniffing him out.
Tam wrinkled his nose trying not to inhale too deeply. The shitty smell affected him too. Seriously how did humans NOT learn to take a crap AWAY from their homes? It was one of the first things the cubs learned: keep the den clean.
Fortunately his hearing was not affected by the various odours rising from the gutters and he distinctly heard the approaching footsteps of a human. Tam looked down and smiled at the dark brown fur covering his whole body, the powerful claws and his strong legs protruding from his semi-shredded pants. Even if he wasn't fully developed yet he was indeed a scary sight.
He resisted the urge to snicker as he hid in the shadows, waiting for the "normal" to approach. The human was in for quite a fright.

The pack-leader hated the stench of the humans too, but he inhaled deeply anyway as he continued the search. Finding the rogue wolf was more important than a few bad smells, and Rendul had smelled worse in his time anyway. Picking up Tam's scent, he stalked through the streets. Unlike the younger wolf, Rendul was careful to remain perfectly hidden, only moving when he was absolutely sure no one was about.

Tam approached the human, now that he could see that it was a young woman. Creeping in the shadows, he waited until she was just close enough to see him but not close enough to get a good look at him. Taunting his powerful muscles, he jumped out of the gloom and let out a terrifying growl. The girl's eyes widened and she let out a piercing shriek. But instead of fainting she picked up her skirts and broke out on dead run.
Out of instinct, Tam chased after her. He was not going to eat or maim her, of course, that would be stupid, but chasing things was fun and this girl was a nimble as a rabbit. They seemed to transverse half the town before they got to the edge, where the church and the cementery were. As he got closer to the girl, Tam wondered what should he do if he actually caught her. Maybe he shouldn't, he wasn't actually planning anything. But before he could decide, the girl screamed someone's name and the door of the shack next to the church was thrown open.
A powerful-built man, looking scared yet determined, stood there pointing a stick at the young Lycan. But Tam knew it wasn't a stick. It was a weapon that spewed fire from the end that was pointed at him. Oh, dung! Tam barely had time to duck before the man fired the shotgun.

Rendul's nose picked up the scented pheromones of excitement from the younger wolf. Tam was chasing something. In the middle of a human village. Idiot. He was clearly showing his inexperience now. Like a puppy chasing rabbits. A growl low in the back of his throat, Rendul followed the whelp's tracks, throwing caution to the wind now in his need to pursue and extract.
Coming around a church, he finally spied his reckless prey opposite him on the road. Then he saw one of the humans, pointing what he knew to be a rifle--Tam was beginning to dodge, but it would't be quick enough--Rendul moved without thinking. The grey hurtled at his packling, knocking him out of the way just in time. The bullet grazed the back of his hind leg, causing Rendul to snarl and curse.
He shoved Tam into the adjacent alley, buying them a little time before anyone followed not one, but two werewolves. Biting down onto the other's ear, he said, "What in the fuck do you think you're doing, whelp?"

One second the fire-stick was threatening to send on him an early meeting with Sister Death and the next he was hurtling out of harm's way to a nearby alley. Tam was so confused and scared that he was about to bite the mass shoving him away when he recognized Rendul's scent.
He didn't have time to be happy to see his pack-leader saving him because said Lycan chose that moment to admonish him.
"What in the fuck do you think you're doing, whelp?"
Tam yipped in pain when he felt his leader's powerful jaws on his ear. Of course this was a reprimand, Rendul could have easily ripped his whole head off if he wanted to. And that was what made it all the more humiliating. Rendul did not see him as an equal or anything remotely close.
Growling in frustration, Tam tried to push his leader away without hurting his ear in the process. "Leave me ALONE, Rendul. I can handle this by myself! In fact you just ruined everything. If you hadn't jumped in right then, all that girl would have ad to tell her boyfriend was about a shadowy prescence following her home. But she's not going to tell that story NOW, is she??"
Nearby, after hearing the gunshot, neighbours were gathering in alarm around the young terrified couple, who were quick to tell them their story.

"No. If I hadn't stepped in, right now the townsfolk would be examining the gunshot wound on a corpse of an ugly human--a human which had once been a wolfman. We packs look out for each other, even for the stupid members." Rendul's teeth sank in deeper, applying pressure to the other's head, before he shook. Scuttle his brains a little. Knock some sense into them, maybe.
He sniffed the air. "Now let's get out of here before we get any more attention, and before you cause any more trouble." His yellow lupine eyes bore into Tam's. "Your ill-advised little field trip is over. And you will be receiving a harsh punishment once we return."

Tam suppressed a yowl of pain as his leader shook his ear, making it more painful than before. He clenched his teeth and did not answer Rendul's jibe of him being stupid, the humans were too close and around and he could give away their location.
He shuddered as those powerful yellow eyes nailed him where he was. "Your ill-advised little field trip is over. And you will be receiving a harsh punishment once we return."
For the first time Tam realized that Rendul had the power to throw him out of the pack and worse, make him an outcast so the others would try to kill him if he got too near. Worse than that though, was the fact that he didn't need to rest of the pack to chase him out.
For the first time in many months, Tam was looking at his leader's full transformation. Showing his dagger-like fangs, his hackles raised, the full-grown Lycan was a terror. Tam knew that if he confronted him in his current state he would surely lose.
Scared by the prospect of whatever Rendul had planned for him, he broke away from the pack-leader into the full of the crowd. Fortunately the cemetery was at the very edge of the town, a forest following soon after and Tam was nothing if not agile.

"Fuck," Rendul snarled.
He darted after him, before separating due to the human presence and picking a different route. This was troublesome. Using his extraordinarily powerful hind legs, he loped along the rooftops until he was out of the town, jumping from house to house. Another angry howl was the villager's last indication they had been visited by the supernatural that night.
He caught up with Tam just inside the forest, lured there by the overgrown cub's overriding scent of fear and panic. With a ferocious pounce, Rendul was on him. This time his teeth sank into the flesh of Tam's neck, almost but not quite breaking the skin.
"Are you really that stupid? What re you afraid of, that I'll kick you out of the pack?" he asked, forcing Tam to the ground. He would keep him there until he sufficiently calmed. "If I was going to do that, I would have simply left you in that village to die."
