With all the things that have been starting to happen across Hisui not many could potentially blame the residents of Jubilife Village for being weary of anyone or anything that one would openly accuse of endangering others. Be it people they haven't seen before, a trio of very peckish Bidoofs or even that loudly proclaimed portal that has seemingly appeared out of nowhere. But luckily there is The Survey Corps around to at least give some kind of reassurance...

Though not all members are the greatest in that aspect as a grey eyed female member is currently rubbing her right wrist lightly, which itself is wrapped in a small bandage. "That Thundershock caught me off guard..." this ssnow white skinned girl, Akari her name, grumbled to herself. The white bandana around her head covering some of her long black hair while the navy Survey Corps uniform seem almost tight fitting on her cutely curvaceous frame...though that could be done on purpose to help her move about and even dodge potential attacks...

Even though, again, Akari may not be so great at such a thing as she couldn't help but look surprised when seeing a very odd looking stranger in front of a restaurant she was originally planning to eat at.

"You...who in the world are you? And what's that bizzare garb you're wearing?" Akari couldn't help but add those last few words as she begins to approach the stranger, her tone of voice unwelcoming like the majority of the villagers though nowhere near the level of them. Especially when a hint of concern could be potentially heard in the way she points out that "a Pokemon could easily slice through those flimsy excuse for clothes."

It had been a strange day. What second, Rei was sitting in his room, relaxing and playing video games. The next, he was falling through the sky after a portal of some sort had ended up sucking him in. He had come arrived in the past, had met wi a few people who seemed intent on letting him die, and had even helped someone capture a few Pokemon they had lost. Now he was eating food from a potato mochi themed restaurant, seeing at it was the only restaurant around.

He blinked as he heard someone’s name and looked over to see, an actually very cute girl who was walking over to him. “Hi, I’m Rei,” he began, before explaining how he had gotten there, Professor Layton helping him along the way. It was a little strange, but you couldn’t very well argue with the giant hole in the sky.

Truth be told there wasn't much that can be used to argue against the space-time rift in the sky, since anyone could see the gaping hole the moment they look skyward. So Akari practically had next to no choice but to listen to Rei not only introduce himself but also explain how he got here and already proven to be decent at capturing Pokemon...the kind that the professor ever so easily lose track of...as she eats some potato mochi.

"You can call me Akari," the cute girl with a red scarf introduces herself before speaking up. "I'm guessing that you know that there are many Pokemon in Hisui...well, since the professor seem so trusting of a complete stranger," those last two words does sound both untrusting and a little hostile. Possibly down to the fact that Rei is still a stranger to Akari. "I'll let you know that it is up to us members of The Survey Corps to not only help the professor with creating this...Pokedex I think he plans on calling it...by observing and capturing Pokemon to gather details about them. But we also have to keep the people of this village safe, be it from pokemon or random people who claim on ill-will," she adds that last part in while staring over towards the male before shrugging lightly.

"But I will admit that it is quite impressive that you managed to catch three Pokemon...most of us Survey Corps members count ourselves lucky if we manage to catch a single wild Pokemon without getting hurt..." trails from Akari's lips as one of her hands move to rub the bandage wrapped around her wrist, said bandaging overing up a burn mark from a Thundershock she has previously taken.

He nodded as he heard her name before listening to what she had to say. Yeah she wasn’t exactly subtle about not trusting him, but he couldn’t really fault her for that. As she continued to speak he would eat his food, wondering if there was anything he could do to help these people feel more comfortable around Pokemon. He didn’t really see why they were so afraid of them, but given he came from a time where it was commonplace to catch them, it would make sense that he had no fear of Pokemon.

Rei’s eyes followed her hand and he blinked, pointing towards the bandage around her wrist. “What happened there?” he asked her.

"Nothing that you need to know," Akari very sharply replied, her tone almost venomous for a moment, before sighing lightly. "I was supposed to catch up with the professor to help him at least try to capture the Pokemon he lost...but, on my way to meet him, I crossed paths with an angry looking Pokemon and it attacked me with Thundershock..." the raven haired beauty shivered lightly as she couldn't help but voice out "Pokemon can be so terrifying..."

He stepped back a bit at her words, though moved closer once she had softened. As Akari explained what happened to her wrist he would slowly find himself moving to touch it, though he stopped himself so as not to scare her. After she was done he would place a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Maybe I can show you they aren’t really that scary?”

It was probably wise of Rei not to do anything so sudden with Akari, especially since he is still practically a stranger to her and it'd probably be best not to lose one of the few villagers willing to talk to him, though she may be acting like someone that might benefit from a Helping Hand now and then. But she didn't do anything to stop the male from placing his hand on her shoulder, possibly understanding he was trying to comfort her or maybe a slip of submissiveness creeping out?

'Maybe I can show you they aren’t really that scary?'

Either yes or no there might be a chance that she wouldn't exactly stop Rei from taking her bandage off to see said burn mark as she squeaked out a confession of "i-if you can t-then I'll be grateful. Survey Corps members are supposed to help people, not cower from Pokemon..."

“Great, then its settled,” he grinned at her words. Of course, he wasn’t exactly part of their team so he wouldn't be able to help her just yet, but if he could gain the Survery Corps trust then he’d definitely be willing to help them.

After coming to that conclusion, he looked back down at the bandage on her wrist and unconsciously took hold of her wrist to inspect it more. He was sure he could at least help with this, his knowledge of Pokemon attacks would definitely come in handy. “I think I might have something that could make the burn better,” he mumbled, mostly talking to himself. Well, he didn’t exactly have it on him, but he knew how to make one.

"Could he possibly make a good member of the Survey Corps? Well it'll make the villagers welcome him if he were to join...but he won't be allowed to join without passing the trial first. Sure, his claim is impressive but at the end of the day I haven't seen any of this skill...but maybe I can convince the Captain to allow Rei to take part in the trial, if the professor ain't already doing s-" Akari was so distracted by her thoughts that she left hereslf entirely open to the male grabbing hold of her wrist. Could this easy distraction potentially cause stuff like her burn to be more frequent if not watched over?

Akari could immediately feel her face light up a little the moment she felt Rei's hand grab hold of her wrist...though perhaps that soft blush could be potentially influenced by her not doing anything to move her hand away. "W-W-Well i-if it makes it b-better..." the raven haired beauty squeaked out in response to Rei's mumble, unaware of if he intended on her actually hearing him speak, as - due to him being from the future - there are possibly a multitude of things that he knows better than the lightly blushing girl

Rei blinked as she spoke again and looked up at her to see her face had a light blush on it. Had something happened? After looking back at his hand, he realized he was holding her wrist and hadn’t even asked her. He gave a sheepish smile before releasing her hand, giving a quick apology as he did.

“Sorry,” he replied. “Yeah, I can help make it better. But I would have to go out in the field to gather things. I don’t think I can do that right now, but maybe we could convince your boss to let me go out?”
