An effective babysitter

The Duque kids watch as their mother packs up her things and says, "OK, kids, I should be back late tonight. I had to find a new babysitter because Sarah moved away, but I expect you to be on your best behavior while I'm away!" Mom was dressed up nice and ready for a business trip. She expected it to be a one day trip.


Carla Duque, her oldest daughter with long dirty blonde hair, was wearing a blue sun dress and ready to go outside. "Don't worry mom, I live and let live!"


Ms. Duque sighed and said, "That's fine dear, as long as your living involves obeying the babysitter." She didn't know why her daughter suddenly became all obsessed with peace and love hippies. Well, at least she was mostly non-violent.


Megan, aged 10 with medium-length brown hair and jeans and a t-shirt said, "Can I play doctor with the new babysitter?"


"If they want to play doctor with you, then go ahead. Just don't force anyone!"


Ellen said, "You should have paid me to be the new babysitter! I would have done it!"


She smiled at her youngest daughter. Ellen was only 7 but already quite ambitious and LOVED money. She said, "Well, maybe in a few years you can babysit, too. For now, if you want to get your allowance, be good for the babysitter."


Josh, the youngest child and only son of the family, walked out of his bedroom fully naked. He was only 5 and it wasn't an unusual sight for the Duque family. Some kids go through that phase, but usually it's over before they're 5! "Put some clothes on, Josh! I already told you the babysitter will be here soon!"


Josh said, "I don't want to!"


"Unless you want the babysitter to see your red spanked bottom, put some clothes on, young man!"


Josh groaned but went back to his room to put something on. Carla said, "You should let Josh be more free! There's nothing wrong with nudity! It's natural!"


Ms. Duque was too tired to argue right now. She just hoped the babysitter would arrive soon so that she would be on time for her flight.

Meanwhile just outside the door was a seventeen-year-old girl who just parked her bike outside the house. Maria Gordon was a black-haired junior in high school wearing a pink top, and blue jean skirt and underneath it was a pair of black tights and white shoes. She noticed a position on a flier asking for a babysitter and she figured it would be a perfect way to get some easy money. After parking her bike, Maria then goes towards the front door and rings the doorbell.

Ms. Duque answered the door and saw with relief her babysitter had arrived, "Oh, Maria! Come in! I'm Ms. Duque, we spoke on the phone. This is Carla, Ellen, Megan, and... Josh will be out of his room in a few minutes." The three girls seemed friendly enough for the moment, and Ms. Duque said, "I wish I had more time to walk you around the house and show you everything, but I really need to catch this flight and my car is almost here! You're in charge while I'm gone, and I expect my kids to be on their best behavior while I'm gone... If they're not, I give you permission to punish them however your parents would have punished you when you were their age."


Carla wrinkled her nose at her mom's insistence on the importance of punishment, but didn't say anything at that moment.

"Hello there, Ms. Duque. Miss to see you." Maria said entering the home with a bag over her shoulder. Entering the living room Maria spots the three girls and Ms. Duque mentioning a fourth child was currently in their room. For the sense of urgency in her voice it seems the mother was four was in a hurry. Upon being heard she was given permission, Maria spoke. "Well the punishment that my parents USED to use on my was a spanking. Is that okay with you, Ms. Duque?" Maria asks to make sure that was fine with her.

Ms. Duque nods and says, "Yes, most misbehavior is resolved with a spanking around here. Sometimes a few swats with the hand for something minor, or I may use an implement or a lot of smacks for more serious offenses. I leave that up to your judgement. Anyways, you already have my number in your phone, but I have my number and all the emergency numbers posted on the fridge just in case. I should be back by 10 tonight, but I expect all the kids will be in bed by then."


Carla interrupts, "You know, a lot of child experts I've read say that you really shouldn't spank your kids."


Her mom chuckles and says, "Name one expert that you've 'read' who says that!"


Carla's bluff has been called. She can't name anyone, so her mother just quickly gives her a kiss on the top of the head and says, "Be good and you won't have to worry about it."



The car to bring her to the airport pulls up outside, and she goes and gives each of her kids a quick hug and a kiss. Josh is just wearing an over-sized shirt that covers everything important, but she doubts he's wearing anything else. Still, she's in a rush, so she supposes that will be good enough for now. She just kisses him too and begins to walk out the door.

Just like that Maria was then left with the four kids. Three kids and one boy were all going to be under her care. As she sits down on the couch she decides it would be a good idea to get to know the kids a bit more. "So how about you all tell me your names? I'll start. My name is Maria." She introduced herself to the kids and wanted to see if anyone else would continue.

"I'm Carla," the oldest said. "Just chillax and we'll all be good for you!"


"I'm Doctor Megan," the next girl said. "I'll give you a free checkup while you're here!"


"You will call me Miss Duque!" the next girl said. "And it costs $5 to sit on that couch!"


Carla rolls her eyes and says, "She's Ellen, and you can ignore everything she says."


Josh smiles and just says, "Josh!" and then runs back to his room.

Knowing their names was definitely a good start and it seems the girls all have something they enjoy doing more or less. But then Maria was taken aback when she notices Josh rushing back into his room. "Is he okay?" Maria asked wondering if she said or did anything wrong or if that was how the boy acts.

Megan sighed and said, "He's clinically insane. I've been trying to tell mom she should let me run tests on him for years!"


Carla rolled her eyes and said, "He's not insane, Megan. He's just going through a phase. You went through the same phase when you were little. He hates clothes, and mom told him when he's out here, he has to wear clothes."


Megan blushes slightly and says, "Maybe I went through that phase when I was 3 or 4, but not when I was 5."


Ellen proudly stated, "I've always loved clothes... as long as they're not hand-me-downs! I like nice clothes!"


Carla turned back to the babysitter and said, "Yeah, anyways, Josh is in his room and is probably naked. Don't worry about him, he's just a free spirit!"

Maria was confused. While she wanted to take the girls advice and believe that Josh would be alright in his room, however it went against her role of being here since she wasn't keeping and eye on him. "Look you girls just stay here. I'll be right back." Maria said to the remaining children. She then goes up to the door with a hand on the knob as she then knocks on it. "Josh, are you okay in there?" She asked knocking on the door.
