Chi-Chi raised a hand to her head, the feeling of dizziness and the dull ache in her mind slowly fading. As the mature woman cautiously rose to her feet, she did her best to recall what had happened. She remembers attending the 25th World Martial Arts Tournament, and could perfectly recall just how hoarse her voice got from cheering for her eldest son, Gohan. She knew in her heart that her son was the strongest fighter in the entire tournament, which made her even more upset when she observed his most recent battle. Mr. Satan's daughter, Videl, was participating as well, and Chi-Chi knew she was no match for her own blossoming young man. So, why had a simple jab thrown by the young woman launched her son several dozens of feet back, sending him tumbling out of bounds? It all just didn't add up!

Chi-Chi had stormed through the roaring crowd of onlookers to the back area where fighters waited for their match, intending on giving Gohan a stern talking to. Videl couldn't have been strong enough to knock her baby out in one punch; he had thrown the match! It was after she had entered the waiting area and felt a strange presence that her memory became fuzzy, and the wife of Earth's greatest defender couldn't even remember why or when she had fallen over. All she knew was her head hurt slightly, and she was quite irritated...

“Let’s give another round of applause for the daughter of our world champion, Videl!” The charismatic ring announcer yelled as the rest of the stadium seemed to scream their hearts out as the fighter they really wanted to win claimed victory. While there seemed to be a bit of confusion on Videl’s face, a look that Gohan gave her let her know there must be something going on if Gohan flew out of the ring early like that. While it looked like a clean punch that sent Gohan flying out of the ring. In reality it was Gohan’s powers that flew him to the out of bounds marker.

Wordlessly Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Vegeta and Goku all used this opportunity of the crowd cheering to fly away and take care of some business. This leaved only 18 as the only Z fighter in the back as she was determined to win the prize money. But for now she was using this opportunity to play with her daughter a bit as she knew this should be a cakewalk for her.

Videl might not know everything that’s going on but she used this opportunity to keep the crowd distracted as Gohan and company flew off. She smiled and waved to the crowd and to sell it even more and give the people what they wanted, she thought some light trash talk would do.

“That scrawny kid had no business being in my ring! He knows what the daughter of the world champ can handle as he goes crying home to mommy! So don’t even bother looking for him! The Great Saiyaman is a great hero but he’s nothing compared to the original West City savior!” Videl said with a smile a blushed a bit. This is so embarrassing! She sounds like her dad! Did she overdo it?

Despite the dull ache in the front of her mind, Chi-Chi was still present enough to make her way to the doorway that lead to the arena. She looked out for Gohan, but could see only Videl in a victorious pose. Had Gohan left already, so ashamed of his loss that he hid himself? Her motherly instincts attempted to kick in and cause the mature woman to search for her beloved Gohan, but the moment Videl opened her mouth something else entirely took over.

Every word ignited a spark of fury in the retired martial artist, and she couldn't help but have that aggression meld together with her strict tendencies as a mother. Bad mouthing her son like that was bullying, cut and dry! And with Hercule nowhere in sight it was up to Chi Chi to provide some much needed discipline. She contemplated rushing out there and snatching Videl right there, but instead slid backwards into the shadows of the prep area, waiting for the daughter of the world champion to come to her.

Videl took her sweet time so everyone could make sure the attention was on her and not where Gohan went. Normally she hated being the vernier of everyone’s attention. Usually she would never milk something like this but she could tell in her wordless conversation with Gohan that something was not right. She had a feeling in her heart of hearts that Gohan was the one who defeated Cell, not her father. And if he’s that powerful, there’s no way she can help in battle. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t other ways for her to help

After a good while of letting the crowd cheer at her as she waved, she made her way towards the back. She made sure to get the people she passed with cameras get a few photos too. And before long, she was behind the curtain and wanted to go take a quick shower since she has time before her next match
