Before the events of Zero Reverse took place, New Domino City was the dueling hub of the world. Everyone who wanted to be a duelist dreamed of competing in the Kaiba Dome in front of a roaring crowd. As dueling became more and more popular, the more it became pass time of this world. While Synchro Summoning was still pretty new in terms of dueling, D Wheels are even more rare. Only those rich, that have connections or alot of mechanical experience combined with alot of time can get their hands on one

Two of those people were Yugo and Rin, currently hard at work with the garage to their apartment open. The pair were dressed in old clothes to make sure their good ones don’t get stained with oil. Yugo had on a green shirt with gray sweatpants while Rin had on a blue shirt with pink overalls over it. While they are not a couple, they are extremely close best friend that grew up together since childhood. Ever since he had the ability to grab a deck, Yugo dreamed to become champion and Rin wanted to do all she can to make sure she succeeds. While Rin was standing while working on the handle bars while Yugo was tinkering with the engine with heavy help of a mechanic magazine

Such events would mean more people would show up to officiate and run things, which made for the perfect disguise for the man who walked down the way towards the apartment to meet Yugo and Rin. The man’s face was basic, simple, nothing stood out, but he was something special. He wore what the official refs and leaders would wear, but no one knew it was a disguise. He had heard about a new duel cycle being made and had to see it for his own being. Arriving at the door, he knocked and wait for one of the boys

The pair heard the knock and Yugo seemed far too distracted to leave what he was doing. With a sigh, Rin put her wrench down and the green haired girl made her way to the door. Looking like a bit of a mess as she was working hard all day, that didn’t stop her from putting on a smile as she opened the door. “Yes? Can I help you?”

“Hello. I am looking for a ‘Yugo and Rin’? I had been told they reside here and I was curious if I have the right place.” The man noted her smile as he cordially responded and put up a friendly act

“You found them. Can we help you with something?” Rin asked, confused why someone would need something from them at this hour while Yugo was blissfully unaware what was happening while in the garage

“Well word had spread around about them working on something big, and the city council wished to have someone just take a peek at what their work is amounting too, if it’s not too much of a bother.” He smiled at her as he spoke

“It’s getting pretty late though. Is this something that can’t be done until the morning?” Rin asked before sighing and hanging her head and moved out of the way so he can enter

“Unfortunately we are very busy and it would be rather helpful to do it tonight just to be sure.” He expressed an immediate counter to the time of day

“Ok, he’s in the garage so I guess you can follow me.” Rin stated as she led the way to the garage, having a bad feeling about this and Yugo was laying on the ground working on the duel runner. “Hey, we have a visitor…” Rin said, who he’d scared Yugo enough to bang his head on the runner and make him hit his head. “Ow! What’s the big idea scaring me like that?!”

The man followed Rin as he looked around, before they’d arrive at the garage to see the boy working on their creation. The man winced in surprise when he heard the boys head smack against the runner
