This is the first time I've had to do this... I've been tempted in the past when things have been a bit tight but have always managed to struggle through. To be blunt, Anime OTK is in danger of closing. Recently with the value of the British pound falling against the American dollar and situations in my personal life I am getting to the point where I can no longer afford to run AnimeOTK.com or any of it's sister sites. The server we are on costs me $250 a month, every month. That adds up to $3000 a year. Add in script license costs, domain fees and all the other day to day costs and since they opened I have spent in excess of $10,000. Donations to date have totaled about $600 and advertising revenue has totaled about $1000. Our new adverts are bringing in up to $100 a month but this still leaves a $150 hole which up until this point has been paid out of my own pocket and a total of $8000+ I have spent out of my own pocket.
I have recently had many issues in my personal life which I will not go into for obvious reasons, but needless to say my cash flow is not as good as it used to be. This has left me with four choices.
1. Close animeotk.com and all it's sister sites.
2. Sell animeotk.com and all it's sister sites to the highest bidder.
3. Find cheaper hosting
4. Start begging for donations.
There are no other choices left to me. I remember the deaths of both oshiritataki and anime brats with great sadness and could not bear animeotk to suffer their fates. I could also not imagine animeotk or it's sister sites being run the way they are now by a new webmaster... Options 1 and 2 are a last resort but the are possibilities. I have instead opted for both number 3 and 4. The bad news is that to get cheaper hosting we need to move from a dedicated server to that is known as colocation. The downside of this is we need to BUY an entire server outright. The upside is I can get that server hosted for $100 a month instead of $250. Anime OTK and it's sister sites need a decently specced server to run comfortably. Our current setup (Dual core opteron with 2gb of ram and sata drives) is at time insufficient to run the sites quickly enough. The server we require will be a quad core opteron with at least 4gb ram and fast hard drives. I estimate that this is going to cost somewhere in the region of $2000. Currently I can barely spare $20...
To stay alive and in it's current form Anime OTK desperately needs your donations. Without enough donations we may have no choice but to close or be sold within the next two months. If just ten people donate $25 we will be able to remain open for another month.
We need:
$2000 for a new server to allow us to cut costs
$250 a month to stay open
AnimeOTK.com is a fantastic resource for spanking art, spanking stories and the artists and writers themselves. Please help it stay alive.
