Regarding the spanking interest

I'm just curious - in another thread about coming to terms with the fetish, it was brought up that some of us looked for spanking scenes in books and even looked up the word "spank" and related terms in the dictionary.

What other habits and quirks do people have with their interest? What gave it away? This is supposed to be a broad topic. Did you have a fascination with a certain show because it showed a spanking scene? Did you read one book, find a spanking scene or threat, and read more novels from that author in hopes that there might be more? ^^;

Personally, I find it funny that I can type the word "spank" these days. At one point, I couldn't write, type, or speak it. It intimidated me badly - it still does! I can type it here, and I can sometimes write it down, but I just can't say the word "spank." When people around me can say it so casually, I'm really very shocked actually. Everytime I try to say it, it just seems to make me tongue-tied. It's my trigger/intimidation word. It just makes me excited and nervous, as if I've been personally threatened with one or something. I wonder if anyone else has ever done that?

Wow Mushi, It's lke you were channeling me there! When I was younger (up to aboiut 23-24), I would always get hung up on saying the word, Though for some reason I can type it faster than any other word. I looked it up constantly in dictionaries and thesauruses. And I've watched several tv series for no other reason than that I saw, heard about, or hoped fr a spanking scene.

So far as giving it away, I've found working the word spank into a conversation while watching the reactions of others in the room very carefully. The spankos, especially younger or nervous ones, will often show a reaction.

well i always look the word up in dictionairies. then I wrote spanking fictions. and I was alwas exited when there was a spanking scene in a movie or cartoon. So I looked to see it again. And when I read about it in books or comics I brought them because of the spanking. I also draw a lot of spanking scene and hide them because I was ashamed. or when someone spoke about it I was intimated.

Whenever I saw a spanking in a cartoon (it had to be a cartoon, because they were funnier), I had to keep an eye on it. Whenever I see spanking art, similar things occur. And yes, I'll have to admit that I did hope once or twice for a spanking to pop up in a future episode of a series. I'm ashamed to admit this, but the number of times I'd wanted Bart Simpson (The Simpsons was my favourite TV show at the time) to get the ol' OTK treatment was...well, it's hard to describe, but it was strong. Then along comes the episode "Two Bad Neighbors" and BOOM...it actually became one of my favourite episodes (and NO, it WASN'T just for that scene. It actually became funnier when I learnt the true history involving George Bush Snr and The Simpsons. But it was a good episode overall).

As for the word 'spanking' itself, I did search for little alternatives, I'll admit, but they sounded a bit too generic. So, what's a guy to do...but make his own up. In fact, after watching the aforementioned scene of the aforementioned Simpsons episode, the OTK 2-smacks on clothed behind spanking (the one given to Bart by the president) eventually became known as a 'Bushing', for sub-obvious reasons. Needless to say, I've never mentioned this until now.

I have to say, I searched for alternative words too. Like you said, they just sound too generic, but I think "bushing" is a cute term. I could openly write about someone getting their "butt blistered" but eh, the word spanking seemed forbidden. XD

I've never tried working spanking into a conversation before, to see how people react. I know when I was younger, I would somehow manipulate people into confessing when they got into trouble and what happened, in casual conversation. If it weren't for the fact that I was the same age as they were back then, that sounds really mean and perverse (and I'm talking as far back as kindergarten), and I don't recall liking the stories, but they were a complete roller coaster ride for me to hear. They made me giddy and scared and all those wonderful things.

Y'know, the talk about comics...I think it's been ages, but my dad and two brothers used to collect all kinds of comics and when I was young I'd sit in my grandmother's basement for hours and read them all. She still has them (They used to be 5 or 10 cents, I'm so jealous...) and I keep thinking some of the old Donald Duck ones had a spanking or two. I can't recall perfectly. I was probably 7 or 8 when I read them?

Funny thing about typing "spanking" is that if I go to type "Spanish" then I accidentally type "Spank." >.<;;

I get that same nervous feeling, i think it has something to do with it being a sexual trigger in our brains, i mean you wouldnt talk about sex with certain people right? so saying the word out loud is to people like us, simply the same as discussing having sex. thats my view anyway. and it sure is a pain in the @$$!

I dunno, maybe its because I have other weird fetishes, but I can usually talk about this one pretty easily.

The fetish I can't even say the word is my diaper fetish. I know its really weird that I like seeing girls wear them. I can barely type the word even in a place where I have a higher chance of being accepted for my oddity. When someone says the word in normal conversation, it freaks me out, because I feel some special connotation with the word.

On an additional note, I don't like the term for spanking that us Brits use (because I am British), which is, of course, smacking. The major problem with it is that it's too generic. When you smack, you could be hitting anything, and not just the backside. With spanking, you generally know where that hand is falling on, so to speak.

Oh man, this takes me back.

I too would look up spanking in dictionaries. I would go into bookstores and look for parenting manuals and hoped they mentioned spanking. (About half would)

Years ago when cartoon network was just starting out their Adult Swim block, one of the adds featured Koenma from Yuyu Hakusho getting a spanking. I watched the show religiously after that in hopes of seeing more, even though I didn't like it at all (The dub voices made me cringe, and the plot wasn't that great I thought). I quit watching it later after I found out there weren't anymore spankings coming, but I did by the dvd with the episode.

Dragon Ball Z, I admit, I liked it at first. (Hides face in shame) I was young! I didn't know any better! But the spanking Chichi gives Goten almost made all the boring, drawn-out sagas worth it. Almost.

I remember seeing some old black and white reruns of Astroboy and I caught one episode in which a great large Mother, is angry at her little boy for something and, at least TWICE, in one episode, takes down the little boy's pants and gives him a sound spanking with the audience seeing his bottom turn color under his giant mother's large palm.

I remember being dry-mouthed a mesmerized by the scene, especially since the dialogue was also intense. The giant mother actually saying, "Now I'm going to take down your pants and give you a good hard spanking," and the little boy wailing, "No Mommy, don't spank me."

Anyone else see that Astroboy episode?

I also remember, when I was a pre-teen, and already aware that spanking was a hot button, getting red in the face when my dad or my uncles talked about spanking, or spanking they had given to me and my cousin. They actually talked about it once at a Thanksgiving dinner.
