It has many translated stories, in paritcular those from Yuri Shimai/Yuri Hime. Yuri Hime(shimai) is a magazine which is, you guessed it, entirely yuri. Yuri, in this case, is used properly, which means that these stories hardly have sex. Shojo-ai, after all, doesn't exist as such in japanese. Those stories vary in quality of course, but all of them have female/female love.
Some good ones are "The caged miko and the whimsical witch", also known as "the miko's words and the witches incarnations". Another would be Hatsukoi Shimai, Snowflakes_Fluttering_Down_Through_the_Clear_Sky, as well as
A Kiss, Love and a Prince.
Iono-sama the fanatics is also entirely about yuri. Negima mostly has a side couple, and it's mostly in the blushing state right now. Still very cute.
As for anime...Noir and Burst Angel don't really have yuri. Burst angel only does in the manga. Noir is subtext, they don't even blush at each other.
I'd personally suggest, for animes, in no particular order...
-Utena (old, and mostly the movie, which is quite clear on Utena/Anthy)
-Sailor Moon (Haruka and Michiru are, well, obviously gay, unless you were unfortunate and watched the american version. There, they are cousins due to censoring)
-Strawberry Panic(not as old, and not all that good - you can see the plot twists a mile away. I personally predicted the ending in episode 9, and I was completely correct in every single prediction for every single character. Which is rather bad, since the anime goes over 20 episodes, and is supposed to be a soap. It does, however, have several yuri couples)
-Kannazuki no Miko. Most male yuri fans hate it, however, it's mostly popular among us females. It's a pretty dramatic love story that has, for some reason, random mecha that make no sense. If you ignore those, it's a very deep and tragic love story. Just make sure to either stop *before* episode 8, or watch it to the end after that - because episode 8 has quite a hefty plot twist, but which does get resolved rather well. Never read it as a manga, though.
-Kyoushiro to Towa is a bad anime, but has a very cute yuri side couple that is canon as well.
As you can see, the only new yuri-ish anime that impressed me was Kannazuki. Most others left me entirely cold, and I'm a BIG yuri fan.
I generally prefer mangas because they do it better. Yuri Hime stories are a good example of it, particularly Hatsukoi Shimai and the Miko/witch one.
