Karla and her Daddy (For Renji'slittlegirl)

Ryan Danvers walked into hios house after a normal day at work. As he opened the door he found himself wondering if his daughter, Karla, wouldbe home from school yet.

Ryan and Karla's mother had been divorced for five years. His ex-wife had gotten custody of Karla in the divorce, but a few months ago, she had been judged unfit, so Karla was removed from her care andsent to live with Ryan. Ryanhad triedto stay close to Karla during the last five years, but it couldbe hardas the divorce hadbeen less than amicable. Still he loved Karladeeply, andshewasa goodkid, seldom any trouble. He wasjsut still getting used to her schedule.

"Karls, Sweetie?" he calledas he waslked into the living room. "You home?"

Karla rushed down the stairs to meet her father, she had just arrived home a mere 5 minutes prior to his entry and was very eager to show him a test grade she had received earlier that morning.

" Hi Daddy!" she exclaimed, hugging him tightly " I got my geometry test back today!" she grinned, very proud of the score she had gotten.

Karla was a very smart girl when it came to things she knew she would need in the future, and since she wanted to be a Veterinarian, Math was a definite MUST! She was wearing a Black knee-length Hoodie saying 'YAOI FTW' on the front in big script letters in rainbow colored string, bellow that were a pair of black tripp pants with a blue trim and metal chains, causing her to have a bit of a jingle when she walked and as allways, she had her hair in a ponytail but her long bangs hanging loose, making a bit of a fringe on the left side of her face.

" How was your day?" she asked.

Ryan gave his daughter a big hug. "It was fine, Sweetie," he said. "AndI take it from your greeting YOUhada good day."

Ryan was a tall man with sandy blond hair anda mustache. He was tall andKarla wasshort, taking after her mother, so he wasnearly a full fott taller than her, and even though she wasa teenager, could still pick her up like when she was little. He seldom did that though, knowing how teenagers are about that sort of thing.

Karla was one to completely adore affection, everytime her father picked her up it made her happier and so did his warm hugs.

" Yeah, my day was fantastic, everything went well and I didnt lose anything,AND i was able to finish about 3 drawings!" she exclaimed, karla was a little artiat and loved drawing when she finished her work a school.

Ryan smiled and kissed her on top of her head. It always made him smile to see her enthusiasm. "that's great, Sweetie," he said. "Ofcourse you know i will want to see them But first, want to help me with dinner?"

Since they had spent the last several years apart after the divorce, Ryan loved spending any time he could with Karla, even doing something so mundane as fixing dinner.

" Sure, what are we going to have?" she asked, taking her father's hand and going into the kitchen, she loved spending time with him as much as he did with her.

" Can we make somehing with alot of vegetables? like...Zuchini revuelto?" she asked.


( Its a spanish dish, like zuchini stirfry but much more throrughly cooked ^^;;; i couldnt think of anything else ^w^;; ))

"Of course we can,"said Ryan as he started getting stuff out. He had to chuckel a bit though. When he was Karla's age if he had asked for something with a lot of vegetables his mother would have called theMenI n Black thinking an alien had taken his place. He got the bowls andpans and what not ready and the two of them started chopping and mixing. "Andif ididn't say it," he added. "great job on the geometry test. You are a LOT better at math than I ever was!"

Karla was a strange child indeed, she had ALWAYS loved vegetables and found it funny whenever they would eat out since everyone expected her to say no to any vegetable sides, which made them stare in shock when she would ask for extra vegetables or something.

She put some olive oil in the pan and becuase to cook the zuchini and then helped shop some onions.

" Thanks, I just wish I could have done enough to get a 100 instead of a 98, one question threw me off" she sighed " I guess I should actually start studying" she giggled. One thing karla had always hated to do,..was study..it took time away from her drawing, so she rarely did it.

Ryan paused at that. "A 98 with NO studying?" he asked. "That's incredible." he was truly impressed with how smart Karla was, but he was a bit disturbed about her skipping studying.

"Karls, sweetie," he said. "A 98 is great, but you really do need to start studying. Why settle for a 98 when you COULD get 100. Iam NOT scolding you, just saying what i think."He gave her a smile to help remove any possible sting from his words.

" I dont like to study..it takes away from my drawing time and any time I could spend doing things with you.." she explained, her eyes narrowing a bit as she set the table but gave him a small smile to show she was OK. Karla was suprisingly really really to hurt , but a simple smile always made everything better for her.

" Daddy?" she asked " Can we have a pet?"
