Chris was a pretty average 16 year old high school student. He had just turned 16 but was only a sophomore having been held back a grade once when he was very young. He wore jeans, timberlands, and a tight fitting t shirt. He had short brown hair, blue eyes, and was very athletic. He had a very hard lean muscular build but didn't play any sports for the school despite his natural abilities. He didn't much care for school as he wasn't very smart, and didn't make great grades despite a very good work ethic. He wasn't picked on at all but he didn't have very many friends either.

In fact he really only had one good friend. That was Johnnie, wild purple haired girl, was actually running down the hall toward his locker at this very moment. Chris smiled and waved as she came toward him, but his smile turned quickly to a frown as he realized something was wrong. "What's up Johnnie? Why are you running?" Chris called to his friend as she closed in.

Johnnie or John for short was running for her life. She was only 14 years old, but she skipped a couple of grades to be a freshmen in high school. She wasn't all that bright of a student like her best friend, Chris. She was one little firecracker. She was wearing a baggy black zip up jacket. Which unzipped at the moment. Showing off her white shirt with an image of rib cage. With a breaking heart inside. Her jeans were tight, ripped up, and bleached. On here feet were faded red sneakers that had seen better days and were falling apart. She spotted her friend and came up to him.

"Tell them you didn't see me!" she said rather fast and continued to run right pass him. Soon enough he would see the reason why she was running. She got hold the the jocks on the football team's clothes and had dyed then pink and shrunk. There was five of them and they looked right down pissed. They came up to Chris and glared at him. They were equally muscular as he was if not more. "Alright! Where that little bitch friend of yours go?" the QB of the team asked angrily.

Johnnie didn't exactly tell Chris was wrong but instead asked him to tell them that he hadn't seen her. Chris sighed he knew that meant there were probably some angry people coming shortly and they were probably jocks. Chris watched as Johnnie ran off and turned back to his locker and gathered the last of his things to head home, doing a good job of acting natural. Sure enough a couple of moments later five football players had surrounded him angrily. THey very unkindly asked him where Johnnie went. "Don't call her a bitch," Chris replied calmly. He didn't like to fight but he wasn't a stranger to it and was actually pretty good. That being said he knew he had no chance of taking five football players. "And I haven't seen her since lunch. If she pissed you off she's probably hiding." Chris didn't like to lie but he was willing to do so to protect his friend. It came off natural though and Chris waited calmly to see how the football players would react to his statement.

"That's bullshit!" the QB yelled and slammed his hand on the locker, close to Chris' head. Leaning his face closer to his and glared at him in the eyes. "We all know she hangs around you all the time. Now tell us where she went." he growled. While the others were getting ready for a smack down. They knew that they could take him down with ease. "And I call her a bitch if I want to. Besides she is one. I just call them as I see them." he told him with a smirk on his face. "Now talk!" he commanded and slammed his hand against the locker again.

Chris remained calm, as the football players escalated their threats and demands. He knew they were trying to scare him but they were on school grounds and there were still a good number of people around. He didn't think they would risk getting in a fight, and getting suspended. After all that would mean they would have to sit out at least one football game too, and he didn't think they would risk that particularly the quarterback. "Look we do hang out a lot, but I haven't seen her since lunch like I said. Even if I had I wouldn't tell you but she's probably half way home by now. So don't call her a bitch, and aren't you guys going to be late for football practice or something?" Chris held his ground showing no fear and remaining calm.

He wasn't sure if they would make good on their threats to beat him up or not, but either way he wasn't pleased with Johnnie. She was always putting him into situations like this and he was getting pretty tired of it.

The QB looked even more pissed because he was right. They were going to be late for practice if they kept this up. So he backs away and glares at him once more. "Don't you think this is over! When I find that slut, she is going to the hospital. You better tell her that the football team is after her." he warned and they all walked away. Shoving anyone that got in their way.

And where was Johnnie while all of this was happening? She was hiding behind a large tree just outside of the school yard. Waiting for Chris to come. Since they walk home together.

Chris just stood there as the qb yelled at him and threatened Johnnie. He non-chalantly shrugged his shoulders and watched as they football players walked off angrily. When they were out of earshot he let out a big sigh of relief. He didn't know what Johnnie had done but they were really mad this time. He was just glad that he got out of that one ok. He waited around a couple minutes to calm down. and to make sure all the football players had made their way to practice. He then started home heading to the tree that he and Johnnie always waited for each other at.

He walked by it and sure enough there was Johnnie hiding behind it. "What did you do?" he asked as they began to walk. "They really want to hurt you, you better stay away from them completely for awhile until they cool off." Chris warned.

She smiled when she saw her friend in one piece. Thinking that they would rip him into shreds. She waved to him and then follows him as they started to head home. When asked what she did. She pouted and turned her head to the side. "I didn't do much, expect steal their clothes from the locker room. Threw them into the washer with red dye. Making their clothes pink." she said with a cocky smile on her face. "That had that coming for awhile now. That will show them not to mess with the great John!" she said happily and laughed. Thinking this was all one big joke. "Look I will leave them alone if they leave me alone. They started it. I'm just defending myself." she told Chris. "Dude I am so hungry. Let's stop somewhere to eat."

Chris listened as Johnnie explained what she did. She was obviously pleased with herself and thought it was all just a joke, which made him even angrier with her. "No let's just go to my house and you can grab something there. I don't feel like going to eat. Not real hungry after almost getting the crap kicked out of me, you know?" he asked turning toward her and making eye contact. "You gotta stop doing stuff like that Johnnie. Your going to get yourself hurt one day, or your going to get me hurt one." Chris got quiet after that, and it was evident he was pretty upset with his friend.

She looks at him as he looks at her. She can already tell that he was not pleased with her. Which made her feel a little guilty. When told that her action might get her hurt or even him. She was now feeling guilty more then ever. "Look I'm sorry, okay?" she asked. "It's just that I get tired of them picking on me. What am I suppose to do? Just take it? I don't think so. Like that expression goes. If you mess with the bull, you'll get the horns." she said. Placing both of her index fingers on her forehead as if they were horns. "But don't worry I'll make it up to you. I'll pay for lunch tomorrow." she said to him with a cheeky grin on her face.
