Marisol Sparrow stood near the bow of the ship, looking over the sea. Her bright blue-green eyes were focused on the distant docks. She wasn't sure where they were going, as her father, Jack, hadn't told her. She ran her small hands over her thick black braid, and looked around the deck. Men ran about, doing work as her father gave orders. She smiled and ran up to stand next to him.
"Papa, where are we going?" she asked, tugging on his coat.

Capt'n Jack smiled. Here they were Tortuga! Home sweet home. He then noticed a tugging and picked his daughter up. "Well me li'l sea princess. We're at Tortuga now. The best pirate port in teh Caribbean!" he tweaked her nose. "You'll see my li'l one how wonderful it is there."

On the other side of the island was another 9 year old pirate girl. Her grey blue eyes fixing a jar of cookies, next to her papa. Her little grubby hands wandered up the table and tried to reach out for the jar

Barbossa looked down at her.
"One, Sandy," he said, brushing her hair back.

Marisol smiled.
"I want to see all the ports, Papa," she told him, pulling on one of his braids. She eyed the hoop through his ear.
"I want to pierce my ears, Papa. Only I want two in each ear," she said.

Sandy giggled and said: "I...I can't reach em poppa...I ..I wants two pleaaase!" she begged and looked at him with puppy dog eyes.

Jack looked at her. "I don't know about that Marisol. I was much older when I got my first earring." he looked at her and seemed thoughtful.

"That's all, Sandy. And you're 9, not a baby," he said, gently.

Marisol pouted a bit.
"Please, Papa? It'll be so wonderful!"

Sandy took the one cookie and pouted. Indeed she was 9 but Sandy behaved not often like that. "I said I want 2 cookies papa. two!" she looked up to him and frowned. "An´I´m a pirate not a baby!" she growled.

Jack looked at her. "I don´t know if it will be wonderful to ye if ye get them...it hurts." he said trying to convince her a bit not to have her ears pierced

Jack sighed. He didn't know. "Well alrigh' we will see how well ye behave. If ye are a good pirate then I promise we will look fer nice earrings." he smiled and kissed her. "Do we have an accord?"

Sandy pulled her tongue out at her father. If she inherited something for sure from him it was his stubbornness. She then tried to grab for the jar herself, trying to help herself for the cookies

Hector movied it further from her reach.
"Sandy," he warned.

Marisol smiled.
"Yes!" she chirped, beaming at him.

Sandy growled and went off. Her father probably thought that she had given up but the little imp came back with a chair and climbed on it to get a better reach.

Jack smiled. He would do everything for his little girl but he was also aware that he needed to protect her and in order to do so he sometimes had to be stern with her, even if it hurt his heart.
They anchored and Jack got off to port with Marisol. "Here we are...Tortuga!"
