This day couldn't be any worse for Rio Alexander. He is eight years old in the third grade, short brown hair and navy blue eyes. He lives with his father, for his mother passed away when he was a baby. Ever since then, he was secluded from the outside world and watched other kids play frisbee with their friends or their dads. His dad has tried to bring him out his shell and have some fun outside, but Rio kindly declined.

Why is it the worst day ever? Because of what happened in school today. He was stomping home, holding a slip of paper saying he was suspended from school because of fighting with another boy during lunch because he through pudding at his face! Rio's response was a swift jab to the boy's face, followed by him beiing escorted to the principal's office. It was there he watch the principal call his father and told him the news.

He opened the front door, kicked of his black school shoes and threw his bookbag on the floor, stomping to his room.

Marko had just turned 28 a couple of days ago and when his son had asked him what he wanted for his birthday he told Rio that they were going to go on a camping trip as soon as he got some time off of work. Marko was tired of watching his son watch other children play outside. He was going to get his son outside whatever it took.

Since the school was close by Rio was allowed to walk home (with teacher supervision of course) . Marko was waiting for his son having got the call at work about the fight that his son was in. Sadly this wasn't an uncommon thing. For a boy that seemed to hate to get out and dirty with the other boys, Rio sure fought a bunch.

When his son stormed off to his room Marko took the boys backpack and carried it with him as he knocked gently on his sons bedroom door.

"Rio I am coming in. We need to talk buddy."

With that he opened the door and looking in he saw his son sitting on his bed.

"I got a phone call about you fighting at school. Want to tell me what happened?" Marko said as he said down next to his son, placing the backpack down on the ground by the bed.

Rio was sulking in his bed. Then looked at his father with his navy blue eyes, then turned away from him. "I don't wanna talk about it..." he said, trying to hide the fact he was annoyed at the moment. He looked up to his dad, who was a positive influence on his life. Rio always talked about his problems, but at times he just wanted to be left alone and let his mind wander off into the distant world known as nothing. He instead handed him the note and sighed, letting the note explain why he was upset.

The note read...

"Dear Mr. Alexander,

We regret to inform you that Rio has been suspended from school for fighting. A conference will be scheduled next Monday about his recent behavior...

Sincerely, Principal Woods."

Rio really didn't want to jeopardize dad's gift.

Marko moved his son so that he was sitting in his lap as he saw him start to pout. He read the note...

The note read...

"Dear Mr. Alexander,

Damn it. And I was planning on taking him on a weekend camping trip too. And I don't know what I am going to do about him missing school. I have got to make him understand that he has got to stop fighting Marko thought as he stroked his son's hair with his free hand. He was hoping he could calm his son down enough to get some answers from him. Marko knew that this would likely end with his son with his pants down and with his son over his knee but before he fully decided that he wanted to get the fully story from his son. The note was strangely lacking in details such as who had started the fight and what had caused it. Marko vowed to bring that up at the Parent-Teacher Conference on Monday.

"Rio I know you are upset..." he began speaking to his son in a soothing voice.

"But all this note tells me is that you got into a fight and that you got suspended. It doesn't tell me why you fought or what happened. I need you to tell daddy what happened."

Rio sighed and looked at him. Maybe if he told him the truth, maybe his dad would be lenient with him. He really despised making his father angry, more than ANYTHING. With a few deep breaths he began to speak to him.

"Well daddy, I was minding my business in the cafeteria, eating my lunch when the school bully Alex, took my pudding cup from my tray. Need I mind you he won't leave the puny kids alone. So I demanded him to give it back to me. This dummy said "Oh you want back? Here!" and threw the pudding in my face!" Rio said, pouting again. "It made me so mad that I gave him a BIG punch in the eye!" he added, sneering.

He wasn't sure how his dad'll handle this, but Rio felt as though he did the right thing by standing up against the guy that ALL young kids were scared stiff of.

Marko gave a slight smile knowing that his son had done the right thing in standing up to the bully. However the way he had done it was wrong.

"I am proud that you stood up for yourself. However it is not ok to punch him in the face because he didn't put his hands on you. If he had hit you first then it would be different. Instead you hit him and you got suspended. And now I have to miss work to take care of you when you are not in school." Marko took a deep breath before going on. "So because you got suspended and because you hit first I am going to give you a spanking. Also you are grounded until you go back to school."

That meant no camping trip but Marko knew it was what he had to do with his son.

"I want you to stand up and take your pants and underwear down Rio." Marko instructed his son.

Rio sighed at his father's words. He wanted to argue back that he started the predicament, but knew it would be futile. He groaned at the fact he had to cancel the camping trip because he was now grounded. When grounded, he would just do what he usually does everyday, stay in his room and gaze outside sadly. But sudden;y his heart skipped a beat when he was told to take down his pants and underwear for a spanking.

"Oh come on daddy that's not fair! He started the whole thing, if anyone deserves a spanking it should be the bully!" Rio whined, crossing his arms and turning away.

Marko frowned as his son began to argue with him. He put his son down on the ground in front of him and undid his pants as he started to speak. "Rio. I told you its not because you stood up for yourself but its because you threw the first punch." He paused for a second as he pulled his sons underwear down as well leaving him bare at the waist. He lifted his son up and placed his face down in his lap, raising a knee so that his bottom was raised up in the air. He rested his hand on his son's bottom. "You should know better then to argue with daddy when I tell you that you are going to get a spanking Rio. Now because you didn't listen I have to give you extra. I was just going to use my hand but now you are going to get some spanks with the hairbrush as well. " With that he brought his hand down for the first spank of Rio's spanking.

Marko pinned Rio's hand behind his back, gently not wanting to hurt his son. His other hand kept raining spanks down on his son's bottom, quickly turning it pink then red. After about 24 spanks he paused and spoke to his son. "Now normally we would be done. But you decided to fight me. So you are going to get 8 spanks with the hairbrush." Marko let his grip go on his son. "I want you to go get the hairbrush and bring it to me." He reached out and gave his son one more swat after standing him up. "And no stalling. Otherwise you will earn extra."
