{Suggestion} Closed/Open RP feature

So upon actually seeing that used its actually a major eyesore to look at when you are trying to find a specific RP.
It's also incredibly misleading to have "Closed RP" in dark red as the first thing that pops into my head is "Oh my the RP was closed" instead of "Oh its private"
Its really a unnecessary feature as people generally assume they are private and from the three years I was on AOTK it never once was a issue.

So the suggestion would be to disable/remove the feature as its more hassle then helpful.

Pretty much agree with Criss on this one, I don't see the reason to have it, it seems to just be an eyesore.

Agreed maybe something that colors the user name it's for would be better?

The colors can be changed to be more suitable in 10 seconds. Do you have a color suggestion or is this just a random complaint that you just hate it. I can also change the closed to private is 2 seconds.

I understand where you are coming from. You have a lot of common sense so I would assume that you know better than to flood a private RPG. The ultimate question is can we all assume everyone does.
A true story: -A few days ago this person sent me a private message and asked if they were allowed to post pictures of children mimicking a sexual posture and they wanted to add subtitles much like you see in those funny little Kitty captions. He claimed that he would grab random pictures of off the internet. I told him no because its illegal to take photos of peoples' children and post them without permission. I was nice and I said the obvious. Well, he got mad and the the "I'm never coming back here again".
This is an example to show that not everyone has common sense and people do need a guide to follow.

My thoughts mostly come from the fact that with as active as AOTK was in the past it was never a issue except by spam bots.
It was clearly in the rules for the forums not to post in someone's Rp's and there was never any issue,its not the same as a gallery or pictures,new roleplayers are few and far between because most of the time they are too nervous to approach the older members.

As far as changing the color it wouldn't change anything because it still says "Closed" that is what gets people as well. People generally put a Suffix in the titles anyways

As you can see,it clearly says who the RP is for and it assumed the OP is the users partner.

The Feature is just annoying and because you don't HAVE to use it(As there is a blank option) people aren't going to,its just silly to have it around and I am clearly not the only one who thinks so. It was never needed in the past and its not needed now. If people barging in was a issue sure this would be a plausible course of action,but they aren't and I can pretty much promise you they won't.

Things I can change:
-"Closed" = to whatever I want.
-spam bots = Barely existence with the great help of my anti-spam-bot-counter measure mod(I didn't make it, but its amazing)
-I can make it so people HAVE to use it.
The thing is you are listing a million things wrong with it that I can make better but it would be much more easy to just say "Personally I don't like it because it makes the forum look all repetitive in the topic view".

I'm still curious on what the other staff to say. Its not close to a top priority for me to go to my new friendly staff and say "Guess what, change the sticky topic. This is how its going to be".
If anyone is going to make a choice it'll be them asking me to shut it down or changing it. I'll get them to come by here.

It looks stupid, distracting, and overall just cluttered. Can't we just treat the user base like adults and trust them to make the appropriate choices and be able to distinguish between closed and non closed threads. I mean, we've not had one problem with how we've been handling the RP's. People just do ( for [x] name. ) and it's just fine and looks loads better.

So to put things into perspective, the new option has hurt more than than it's fixed. General agreement is that it's unneeded, can we just get rid of the darn thing?

As an alternative: Leave the feature, but remove the annoying text.
As I understand it, the closed open feature locks the thread for everybody who's not supposed to post in it?
So whoever is supposed to post in it, will likely already know that the thread is private. Everybody else will find out when they try to submit a post.

I think it'd be silly to remove an optional feature, even if most people think it's unneeded.
Somebody might still want to use it.

Then again, I'm not a RP'er, so my view on this might be completely distorted.
