Default Training Animals and Children {for Criss}

A new town and another chance to make a few dollars, Kyrian mused to himself as he walked along a somewhat lonely stretch of road toward the large open meadow where the circus troupe had set up for the show. They were only a short distance from town but far enough away to not be a nuisance for the week or so that they would be here before moving on to somewhere different. That was part of the appeal of this life to Kyrian since travel always seemed like an adventure. He was dressed in plain black pants and a white shirt with a black vest over it, this being both his ‘costume’ as well as his everyday clothes since he saw no need to have separate clothes for both. And he absolutely drew the line at dressing in anything sparkly, a grimace appearing on his face at the mere thought.

A pair of silver foxes were trailing along at his heels like dogs, the only two of his menagerie of animals that accompanied him nearly everywhere that he went, the two of them sporting plain leather collars around their necks as though they really were dogs. “So what do you guys think of the place so far?” he asked, not sure why it was that he insisted on speaking to them as though they could actually respond but since he didn’t really associate with anyone from the circus it seemed natural to talk to his animals. Of course he was civil to them since it wouldn’t do to make enemies of people that he had to spend most of his time with but there wasn’t really any among them that he called friend.

The male fox looked up at him and yipped while the female just seemed distracted. Kyrian vaguely wondered what had caught her attention but it wasn’t really that important since both of them, like all of his many animals, were well trained so he knew that they wouldn’t wander away from him. And even if they did he had them trained to respond to whistle commands and so he could get them back if need be.

Nali had been following Kyrian for a while having seen him come in with the rest of the circus,the 9 year old had recently broken out of the local orphanage and was surviving on his own. When a opportunity arose the 9 year old boy darted from the Alley,grabbing the first thing he grabbed from the mans pocket and tore off down the street to try and lose the likely pursuer

While Kyrian had pretty much been oblivious to the person following him his companions were less in the dark and the instant that the boy grabbed the man's wallet the pair of foxes tore off after the boy. Leaving a slightly stunned Kyrian to try and figure out what was going on before he to gave chase, getting to the group a second after the two foxes had grabbed the boy, each gripping one of his pant legs. "Well well," Kyrian said as he walked toward the boy, eying him with a sort of appraising look. "Seems we've caught a little thief. Chara, Chaos, good job." He smirked slightly at the names that he had given to his companions, having read a book once on Greek mythology and decided to name his animals after the gods in the Greek pantheon. "So kid, got anything to say for yourself?"

Nali paniced a bit when the foxes grabbed his pants unable to shake them off and frowned when the strange man showed up "Just take your stuff and let me go" he said throwing it back to the man,he was hoping he would just accept that and let the boy go and not call the cops since last thing he needed was a criminal record.

Kyrian arched a brow as the boy threw his belongings back to him while at the same time rather rudely demanding that he let him go. "I don't think I'm really inclined to do that little man," he said as he knelt down so that he was more on the boy's level, at the same time issuing two short, sharp whistles that called Chara and Chaos to his side. "Tell me why you took it," he said in a calm and yet at the same time firm tone of voice, wanting to know what the kid's motivation had been. And even as he waited to see what the kid would have to say in his defense, if he said anything, Kyrian was taking in the boy's appearance more closely. Granted he was poised to grab the kid if he tried to run away again, his muscles toned from his rather physically intense job.

"I need the money to eat" Nali said having no problem answering the man,he didn't see no reason to lie about it "I figured since you'd be gone in a day or two you wouldn't stick around to look for it" he said. Nali wasn't a stupid pickpocket and made sure only to hit marks that would be in town for a couple days so he wouldn't have to worry about them sticking around to try and catch him.

"Well needing to eat is something that I can understand but there are ways to get money that are more honest than stealing it, even for a kid," Kyrian told him in a lightly scolding manner, the man thinking about his options for a moment before he spoke again. "Where are your parents?" He asked this question even though he was thinking that he already knew the answer to it since the kid's rather scruffy appearance sort of gave away the fact that no one was taking care of him. Which sort of saddened Kyrian but he had a few things that he needed to sort out before he decided what to do with this kid.

"I don't know...."Nali said with a frown,that was a sorta sore topic for him "They ditched me at an amusement park when I was three" he said with a scowl ignoring his scolding tone "Can I go now? I need to get to shelter before the rain comes" he said even though there were only a few gray clouds in the sky,he was hoping this would distract him enough or convince him to let him go.

Kyrian sort of winced when the kid said that he didn't know where his parents were and he could relate to not having a family though leaving his own had been his choice. "Well that settles that," he said more to himself than to the child when the boy explained that his parents had ditched him. 'It's quite obvious that you need someone to look after you and teach you right from wrong and I guess there are worse people than me. Come on kid." Not really giving the boy time to actually agree to go with him Kyrian reached out and grasped him gently but firmly by the wrist so that he could lead him along. "Name's Kyrian, by the way," he introduced in a rather off handed way since he realized that he hadn't given the kid his name.

Nali blinked when his wrist was grabbed but figured it best not to protest since he could still call the cops "Nali...." the boy said quietly as he followed the man as if he had a choice,which he knew he did,all he had to do was scream he was being kidnapped and someone would likely come and save him but his natural curiosity got the better of him.
