On Broken Wings {for animefangirl}
A small, lithe figure walked along the dimly lit corridor of the rather imposing buidling flanked on either side by black clothed members of the elite force known as the CROW, the child unassuming in appearance if not more than a little bit odd with his white hair that was swept to one side so that his bangs partially obscured his right eye, eyes that were an eerie almost blind blue at this point. That wasn’t their natural color, it being a more vibrant blue, however there were times when this changed and it was thought to be connected to his Innocence but much like everything else concerning the boy, this was only an assumption.
The boy was called Skye though this was not his true name, the name that he had been given at the time of his birth, but simply a moniker that he had given to himself at the age of seven because he couldn’t remember his real name. Having been forcibly taken by the Black Order when it was discovered that he was one of the chosen few, the ones who could fight against the Akuma, the child had suffered traumatic amnesia and as a result only had partial memories of his life before the order. In the beginning he had tried to cooperate with his captors, however when he started to regain fragments of his memory, his cooperation ceased completely. Not that he’d made much progress even when he was cooperating seeing as his control over his anti-Akuma weapon was shaky at best and chaotic and disastrous at worst. Dressed in simple black pants and a black turtleneck the boy was going along peacefully enough however the nine year old was contemplating how he was going to get out of this mess since escape was never really far from his mind.
Skye’s thoughts were interrupted when one of his escorts spoke as the group arrived at a door. “You’re going to meet the one tasked with training you now boy,” the man said in a low and threatening tone of voice, causing the child to give him a decidedly disdainful look in return. “And it would be in your best interests not to cause trouble.” This of course gained a scoff from the boy as he snapped, “Like I can do anything with that damn seal in place.” The seal he was referring to was a talisman that was placed between his shoulder blades, this paper seal being used to force his Innocence to remain dormant so that he could not activate it at will. Not that Skye could really ever do that since it sort of cooperated of its own volition or not at all, but that was a moot point as far as his jailers were concerned. Having said this they opened the door and more or less forced the kid inside before walking in behind him.
Already more than a little bit annoyed, even though he was hiding it well, Skye didn’t take too kindly to being all but shoved into the room especially given the fact that he hadn’t resisted. “Back the fuck off!” the boy snapped, finally losing his tenacious grasp on his self restraint, the boy stepping away from his escorts in the blink of an eye. Of course they had more or less anticipated this and moved to block the door so there was really nowhere for the boy to go save for farther into the room. Which he wasn’t quite willing to do, Skye’s gaze shifting around and taking in his surroundings critically, the kid searching for any cracks in their defenses that he could use to his advantage.

Logan really wasn't any happier than Skye to learn that he'd been assigned to training a young exorcist, or would-be exorcist since the kid was not officially part of the order yet even if he was their responsibility, but unlike Skye he was planning on giving it his best effort even if he was unhappy about it. He was a young man, only 23 years old, but he was also one of the strongest of the exorcists that the order currently had. His own master, Dio, had been a general and the strongest they had but the man unfortunately passed away several years back and Logan had taken his place as one of the generals of the order. He'd managed to avoid having to take an apprentice, but apparently this one was a special case. A parasitic type, who was sort of out of control and if he were allowed to keep going the way he was he could become one of the Fallen and Logan was one of the few that the head generals thought were capable of handling the kid, or at least that was what the man had been told. So he'd reluctantly accepted the assignment and was currently waiting in a room in one of the upper floors of the order, since Dio had always kept his rooms up on the top floor so he could have privacy and it was just something that Logan had gotten used to even if it had taken a lot of stair climbing over the years to get used to it.
He looked over at the door when he heard the CROW member's stomping feet in the hallway and he actually arched an eyebrow at that, surprised that the kid had an escort like that but he knew it couldn't really be anyone else stomping around out there. He stood and faced the door as it opened, the boy being shoved in and snapping at the men that had done it in a way that once again got Logan to arch an eyebrow. "Was that really necessary?" He asked, actually sounding conversational which was probably odd considering his words were a scolding but Logan was a sort of odd man. He was tall, about 6'2", with white hair and dark blue eyes that almost looked gray and stormy, and he was currently wearing the standard black uniform with the order's crest above his heart. "Thanks for bringing him, you can leave now" He said to the CROW members, not at all intimidated by being alone with the kid despite his reputation. He looked back at the boy then, deciding to try and get off on the right foot with him. "I'm General Logan Radke, you will call me Master for the duration of your apprenticeship. What's your synchronization level at?" he asked, getting right to business and not realizing that the kid hated the order since he honestly had no idea what the order had done to him, nor would he care if Skye told him since as far as Logan was concerned there was no price too high to pay to take down the earl.

Given the fact that he was really short Skye had to crane his head to look up at the man that spoke to him after he snapped at the CROW members that were escorting him to meet with the newest idiot that had been charged with his so called training. "Necessary?" Skye repeated as he scowled at the man, a hard look in his eyes. "That and so much more is necessary when it comes to these bastards." The tone of the boy's voice was just as hard as the look in his eyes, Skye wishing that he had the capability to remove the seal that was forcing his Innocence to remain dormant. When the man told his escorts that they could go Skye looked back to them and he took several quick steps away when one of them pulled a coiled whip from his belt and tossed it at the white haired man. "You'll need this," he said in a cold and uncaring voice before they left the reluctant Exorcist in training with his new handler. Skye watched them as they left and then his gaze once again went to the man, who introduced himself as Logan but it was the title that really stuck in Skye's mind. Of course the statement that he was going to be required to call the man 'master' during this so called training got a scoff out of the boy and he completely ignored the question about his syncro rate, mainly because he didn't have the slightest clue. Of course he probably wouldn't have answered even if he had known since cooperative just wasn't something that he was with anyone associated with the Order.
"Go fuck yourself and die," the boy said in a scathing tone of voice, glaring at the man with a defiant look in his eyes. "I can guarantee you this isn't going to work out the way that you think it will... you have to remove the seal sooner or later if you hope to do any 'training' and at that point, all bets are off." Usually Skye just tried to escape but he would turn his Innocence against the ones holding him captive if it came to that, he'd actually wounded one of the higher ups from Central during a botched escape attempt. He'd paid dearly for that one but even so the boy didn't really regret his actions.
At this point Skye turned around and made to walk toward the door, figuring that he'd given his guard dogs enough time to make their retreat since he was pretty sure that they were more than happy to wash their hands of him. He was way more than a pain in the ass most days so no one really liked dealing with him, well save for a few so called scientists from Central but they didn't really count and it wasn't actual enjoyment for his company. More a sadistic enjoyment in his suffering than anything else but that was neither here nor there and not something that Skye was currently thinking about. His mind was instead focused on getting the hell of this place. "I'll tell you the same thing that I've told everyone else. I have no interest whatsoever in this so called war," the boy spat out for good measure before grasping the doorknob and moving to leave.

Logan was admittedly startled when the boy glared up at him and announced that it, and much more, was necessary with the CROW. He was a bit impressed that this kid was willing to talk about the elite assassins like that, since they were a force to be feared by most even if Logan himself didn't fear them. He would have had to be a moron not to see all the hate in the kid right now, and he remembered his own masters words about hate being a bad motivator as an exorcist since it lead to easily to betrayal which of course lead to innocence destroying you. He didn't want that happening to this kid, not because he cared about Skye--since he couldn't really when he'd just met the boy--but because that was just an unpleasant way for anyone to die let alone a child. He decided to address it later though and just told the CROW they could leave, reflexively catching the whip that one of them tossed his way and he was a bit disgusted to even be holding it knowing that the man meant for him to use it on Skye. He didn't know any child that deserved to be treated like that, but he bit his tongue for now and decided to bring this up at his next meeting with the head generals. Once the CROW left Logan tossed the whip into the trash with a bit of a disgusted look on his face before turning to the child to introduce himself, and he was admittedly annoyed when Skye told him to go fuck himself and die, the man barely resisting giving into the urge to slap the child for that one and when he thought about what his master probably would have done to him if he'd said the same thing he actually had to resist a shudder since his master had been harsh by most standards. He shook that off when Skye attempted to leave with the announcement that he didn't care about the war, and that was about as much lip as he was willing to put up with from the boy so he activated his innocence and blasted it at the door, creating a solid wall of ice that pretty much stuck the door shut and froze the handle so it wouldn't turn even if Skye tried to turn it. "Listen you little brat, you might not like it but you've got innocence in you and you're going to have to learn to use it. So you got two choices. One, you cut the crap now and we start over. Or, two, you keep up this little 'I hate you and everyone else' attitude and I tan your hide for being a brat. What's it going to be?" he asked, his voice a bit snippy since he just didn't like kids and didn't want to do this in the first place so he really was not reacting that well to the kid attitude. Calling him a brat probably wasn't the best way Logan could have responded, but he didn't really care about that either.
(changed his age to early 20's it fits his personality better and Skye is so much younger so it works)

When one didn't really hold fear of death it lent itself to many possibilities that most sane individuals wouldn't dare and so Skye didn't even hesitate to make the comment about the CROW, not caring what they thought about that. Yet while he didn't really fear death there were any number of things that one could endure without dying that were worse in his opinion and so when one of his guard dogs tossed a coiled whip to Logan the boy took several steps away from both of them, the kid's eyes darting back and forth between them. He was trying to keep his fear of that hidden but as it turned out that wasn't something that was necessary for him to do seeing as the white haired man tossed it into the trash as soon as they were gone. This made it easier for Skye's bravado to return and when he was informed that he was to call the man master he told Logan what he could do to himself before making a move to leave the room after announcing that he didn't care about the war. Skye was admittedly taken off guard when he suddenly found the door frozen shut and he turned a scathing look to Logan as the man once again spoke to him, this time to issue a threat or an ultimatum, however one chose to look at it. "Remove the seal and I'll show you what it's going to be, bastard," Skye snapped, not appreciating being called a brat but not caring enough about what the man thought of him to really get indignant over it. They were only words after all and those stopped doing damage after awhile.
Stepping away from the door since he couldn't get it open Skye made it a point to keep himself facing the man so that he could watch Logan's every move just in case the guy decided that he wanted to take a page out of everyone else's book and turn violent. He did still have the seal, which anyone save for him could remove, and that was an annoyance since it meant that he couldn't activate his Innocence even if he wanted to but that just meant that the kid had to try and provoke Logan into removing it. Not that the child was sure that this would even work but his logical skills weren't that developed since he was so young so this plan seemed as good as any as far as the kid was concerned. "For the record you can't force me to use the Innocence any more than any of the others could," Skye spat out in a heated tone, the boy thinking to himself that his words had a sort of double meaning since half the time he couldn't even make the Innocence work but he wasn't about to point out that fact, to this guy or to anyone else.

Logan saw the fearful look in the kids face when the whip was tossed to him, and it actually severely pissed him off to see it. He obviously was not angry with Skye, since the child had every reason to be afraid of this thing if he had been subjected to it before, his anger was directed at whoever had been the one to decide to use it on the kid in the first place. He intended on finding out, since things with Skye were not adding up and he was determined to get justice for this child if Skye deserved it. For now he was just going to have to try and figure out how to get along with the child. So he tossed the whip aside and froze his door so Skye couldn't leave before issuing his sort of 'warning' though it could be seen as a threat or ultimatum if Skye wanted to look at it that way. He was sort of surprised when the kid decided to challenge him at that point, and even though he tried he couldn't resist the urge to box the kids ears for that one. So he reached over and smacked the back of the kids head, not that hard, just hard enough to sting a bit and maybe surprise him. "Don't call me a bastard, kid, you're my student now if you like it or not and you're going to show me some respect." He said, his tone irked as he sort of glared at the kid. When Skye went on to tell him that he couldn't force him to use his Innocence Logan sighed and leaned against his ice door as he watched the clearly agitated kid, once again wondering why the hell Skye was so angry. "No I can't, but why wouldn't you want to use it? You've been given a gift with your innocence, Skye, you can help protect a lot of people that have no way of protecting themselves. You know about Akuma and the Millennium Earl right?" He asked, not sure what the kid had already been taught so he figured he may as well start from the beginning and assess what the kid already knew so that he could work with him. He was still planning on spanking Skye if Skye got too out of hand, but so far he hadn't been that bad so Logan was trying to cut him a little slack, which was the only reason the boy was not currently over his knee getting his behind roasted for the attitude he'd had since he was brought up here.

Even though he was fearful of the whip Skye still had an air of defiance that surrounded him as he watched Logan warily, trying to determine what the hell was up with this guy and maybe why it was that the higher ups thought that he could succeed where countless others had failed. For his part the child didn't think there was any way that anyone could succeed and he was planning on making that one blaringly obvious so that hopefully even the delusional would finally get the hint and leave him the hell alone. That was really all that he wanted but it was something that he couldn't seem to get and that was enough in and of itself to make him one very agitated little boy. Which was evident when he felt the need to call Logan a bastard but he was forced to at least briefly rethink that choice when the man actually smacked him in the back of the head. "Hey!" he yelped, his hand reflexively going up to rub the spot where Logan had struck him, an odd look appearing briefly in his blue eyes before it vanished and Skye decided to address the man's words. "Fuck off you arrogant son of a bitch, respect is earned. You can't just demand it because those idiots decided you're in charge of me," Skye spat out angrily, quickly stepping out of arm's reach of the man since he wasn't anxious for a repeat of what had just happened. As Logan glared at him Skye just glared back, the kid refusing to back down but this was mainly because he refused to be seen as weak. Skye went on to tell the man that he couldn't force him to use his Innocence and when Logan acknowledged the truth of that Skye was actually a little bit placated however that faded as soon as his so called master went on to ask why he wouldn't want to use it to protect people. "You say that like you think I should care what happens to those people," Skye said with a snort, the boy not coming right out and saying that he didn't care but that was the way that he purposefully made it sound. He didn't like to see anyone hurt but at the same time he didn't want to be under the thumb of the Order because his experiences with them just weren't good. "And I know the gist of it but you're neglecting to think about, or else they didn't tell you, that my Innocence doesn't work about seventy-five percent of the time," Skye said, having heard the basics about the Akuma and the Earl but since he'd never been out in the field and, before his transfer here from another branch of the Order, actually hadn't seen daylight in about two years he didn't have any practical experience with them. Skye paused at this point, still glaring and still trying to figure out how he was going to get away from this guy, his gaze going to the window since Logan and his damnable ice was currently blocking the door.

The higher ups were confident in Logan's ability to succeed with Skye because Logan was a general and he had a honed hatred for the Earl that was unrivaled by anyone else in the order--which was one thing Dio had never broken him of but he had gotten Logan to control the hate instead of letting it control him. So if there was anyone that had the motivation to deal with a stubborn exorcist-in-training and get the boy to realize why he needed to use his innocence to help people, it was Logan. Though at that point he was thinking it was going to be a harder task than he'd anticipated when he accepted the orders earlier that day. He didn't really think about what he was doing when he reached over and smacked the back of the kids head for his language, and he was slightly amused when the kid indignantly called out a 'hey' since it was something Logan had done on more than one occasion with his own master so he knew the feeling. He noticed the odd look in the kids eyes at that but he didn't get a chance to figure out what that meant before he sort of ruined it by telling the kid that he was going to show him some respect. He scowled a bit at the boy when he told him to fuck off and announced that he couldn't demand respect, the kid quickly getting on his last nerve and he had to once again resist the urge to tip the boy over his knee for an attitude adjustment but Skye was very close to ending up there. "I can demand it, and I'm going to. You do not have to like me, but you do have to show me some respect while you're my student. Fake it if you have to, but open disrespect like this is not going to be tolerated Skye, if it weren't your first day with me you'd be over my knee getting that attitude spanked out of you right now" He said firmly, the man seeing no problem with demanding respect from Skye. In fact he thought it was a small price to pay considering he was going to be putting a lot of time and effort into teaching Skye the things he needed to know and helping the kid get control of his innocence, the least Skye could do was make that process easier for both of them by dropping this hostility that Logan really hadn't done anything to earn. He went on to ask the kid why he wouldn't want to use his innocence to help people and he listened as the boy basically said he didn't care about the people being hurt and that actually got a flash of real anger to appear in Logan's eyes as his hands twitched as if wanting to ball into fists but he forced them not to. He would never punch the kid and he didn't want Skye to think he would either.
This was a sore subject for Logan, since the reason he'd become an exorcist was when his brother Liam died and he ended up being tricked by the earl and made his brother into an Akuma who tried to kill him, but his innocence had activated itself and he'd killed Liam. He'd been Skye's age at the time, and the event had thoroughly traumatized him and he never really got over it. Of course there was no way for Skye to know that though, so getting upset with the boy woudln't help anyone right now. "You should care Skye, because you're one of the rare few that can help them and they need help even if they rarely appreciate it. For every life the Earl destroys there are dozens of people that suffer when that Akuma starts to kill." He explained, not sure if it would help Skye care more but he tried. He listened as the boy told him that his Innocence rarely worked and he nodded at that one, since he had in fact been told that. "I know, but that's normal. Mine didn't work for me at first either, and when it did I put too much innocence into the attacks and ended up passing out from the strain on my body. It takes time and a lot of practice to get better at it, but that will never happen if you don't try to learn to control it. And that is something that I can teach you" He said, then watched the kid eying the window and he knew what he was thinking and iced it just for good measure. "But before we do that, we have to deal with your bad attitude and language" he said, his voice getting firmer as he walked over to the kitchen area of his sort of apartment in the order--one of the perks of being a General meant he didn't have just a bedroom here he had his own apartment on the top floor--and he grabbed a small bottle of hot sauce before walking back to the kid and seizing his chin in his hand, holding Skye hard enough that he couldn't get away but not so hard as to really hurt him. "I warned you about your language, maybe this'll help you remember to watch it in the future." He said a bit darkly as he forced Skye's mouth open and squirted a fair amount into the kids mouth. He let go of him then and waited to see how the kid would react. He hadn't put so much in Skye's mouth that the boy would choke on it or anything like that, he'd just made sure there was enough to fully coat the boys tongue and make it burn. "Five minutes, if you behave yourself and dont cuss at me then I'll give you something to stop that burning feeling" He said, otherwise the kid was going to have to deal with the burning until it faded on its own, which could be a while depending on the boys tolerance to spicy food.

Skye was more than a little bit taken by surprise when Logan suddenly decided to smack him in the back of the head and although it hadn't really hurt all that much, at least not comparatively speaking, the boy couldn't help but yelp out a 'hey' in response to it while at the same time reflexively reaching up to rub at the spot that had been struck. He wasn't happy with the way that things were going with this guy and he did nothing to hide it and made it fairly blaringly obvious when Logan started demanding respect, the child quick to tell him that respect was something that he couldn't demand. Which the man apparently decided to argue, going so far as to tell the kid to fake it if he had to, and this annoyed Skye almost as much as the order itself. "Faked respect isn't respect, it's nothing more than a lie," the child pointed out in a scathing tone of voice. "So all you're really trying to do is encourage me to lie and be deceptive which isn't something I do." The man's next words, about him being over the man's knee getting the attitude spanked out of him were it not his first day with Logan, came as a complete shock to the kid and Skye openly gaped at the person who was responsible for him for the foreseeable future. While Skye wasn't completely ignorant about what a spanking was he was more familiar with more brutal forms of punishment and that was where his mind went in that instant, the child's blue eyes shifting to the trash can where Logan had tossed the whip that had been a parting 'gift' from one of Skye's former guard dogs. "Not a chance in hell," Skye said in what was meant to be a brave tone of voice but this time the kid didn't pull it off quite as well as he had been before since he was at least a little bit scared of that prospect though it was more the unknown that made him nervous and not the threat itself. The topic shifted at that point and when he was basically asked why he wouldn't want to use his Innocence to help people the boy played it off as though he couldn't care less about anyone, not even himself, which seemed to anger the man though Skye had no way of knowing the reason why since he hadn't been told anything about the man who would be his teacher.
Skye's views on people and their worth was more than a little bit warped because of his experiences with the Order, the kid having been taken from his mother's arms at the age of seven while she screamed for the men in black not to take her only child. The event had so traumatized the little boy that he'd suffered traumatic amnesia and completely forgotten everything about his life, his mind erasing those memories to save him from the pain of having to cope with what had happened. Of course events that occurred after he was taken to one of the branches of the Order had served to bring fragments of those memories back to light and the one that Skye was most vividly aware of was the one in which his mother was screaming for him not to be taken. That scene played over and over in his mind and haunted him even two years later so when Logan went on to try and convince him that he should care about people and want to help him the boy narrowed his blue eyes and growled, "What about the lives that the Order destroys? Doesn't that matter? I never asked for this, I never wanted to be a soldier of God, and I damn sure didn't want the memory of my mama screaming for someone not to take her only child. I can't even remember my own fucking name because of them and you want me to just forget all about that and help them with their war, like none of it happened. No. Way. In. Hell." Skye enunciated each of the last four words clearly, his eyes seeming to flash as he glared at Logan through slightly narrowed eyes.
After that was established Skye went on to inform Logan that his Innocence didn't even respond the vast majority of the time, leaving out the fact that it was with disastrous results even when it did, and he scowled when told that was normal. When the man went on to further elaborate on the process before adding that he could teach him to control it Skye shook his head. "I don't want to learn," he said with a shake of his head. "I'm not going to turn into their obedient little attack dog..." His words trailed off at this point as Skye raised a hand to touch his throat, his hand absently rubbing back and forth over the fabric of the turtleneck that he was wearing. His clothes didn't have the crest of the Order anywhere since Skye point blank refused to wear the uniform and this was another thing that his previous handlers hadn't been able to force him to do though he did sport the rose cross somewhere else but that was something that he wasn't sharing, among a lot of other things about himself. What he'd said before about his past had been a slip up and not something that he'd meant to say, the child regretting his loss of composure at this point.
Skye's gaze shifted to the window at this point and he blew out a frustrated breath when Logan seemed to realize what he was up to and iced that over for good measure. The nine year old was not happy about this but his attention was effectively diverted from his blocked escape route when Logan said that they had to deal with his bad attitude and language, this serving to get Skye's full attention and he watched as Logan walked over to the kitchen area of the apartment. Skye watched the man warily and when Logan moved to approach him the kid tried to dodge away but he wasn't fast enough and the man managed to seize his chin, Skye unable to pull away despite that he was trying. "Let go," the boy snarled, eyes narrowing even further as he made an attempt to kick the man but unfortunately for him that failed and he found himself unable to keep Logan from forcing his mouth open and pouring the hot sauce in the kid's mouth. Skye issued a sort of strangled yelp as he retreated several steps, his eyes watering as he opened his mouth and almost panted in an attempt to get rid of the burning sensation on his tongue. "Ba..." He started to call Logan a bastard again but stopped short when he was informed that he had to deal with this for five minutes but that he would be given something to stop the burning if he behaved himself. Skye gave the man a dark look of his own but he didn't say anything though of course the poor child couldn't make himself ignore the burning on his tongue, Skye pacing around in an agitated manner but wisely keeping his mouth shut, figurative speaking of course since he was still trying to cool the burn by panting. After a couple of minutes of pacing an idea occurred to the child and he walked over to the door, which was of course still iced over, and the boy started to strike the ice until he managed to knock a piece off which he proceeded to suck on like a popsicle in an attempt to cool the burning of his mouth. It helped a tiny bit but not nearly enough since water, and by default ice, just wasn't enough to get rid of the burn of the spicy hot sauce.

Logan could sort of see Skye's point when the boy argued about faking respect being a lie, but that didn't mean that he was going to change his mind so he waited patiently for the kid to stop protesting before speaking again. "Speaking to me respectfully and not yelling at me is not the same as actually respecting me. That will come in time. For now you will address me with a proper title of Master, General or Sir and you will not get an attitude with me, cuss or yell at me. You are also going to obey my orders, you may question them if we are not in the middle of a fight against Akuma or something, but you will follow them. Those are my expectations for your behavior, and if you do not meet them there will be consequences." He explained, since he thought it was only fair for the boy to have clear rules in the beginning so that he would know what his boundaries were and Logan would therefore be totally justified in punishing him if he failed to live up to them. Dio had been a fan of waiting for him to mess up and punishing him for it whether he knew he had broken the rules ahead of time or not, and he always hated that so he was not going to do the same thing with his own apprentice. He went on to give the kid the warning about his attitude earning him a spanking and he noticed the kids eyes shifting to the trash and realized that he'd misunderstood even before he said there was no chance in hell and Logan saw the scared look in the kids eyes. "I wont beat you Skye, and I wont whip you. Ever. You're a boy not an animal, when you mess up you'll get spanked. That means you'll go over my lap or bend over your bed and I'll smack your backside with my hand, or if you do something really bad it'll be a brush, paddle or switch. That's it, and yeah it'll hurt but it wont actually injure you" He explained again, not sure why he felt the urge to tell the kid that but something in the frightened eyes of the boy made him want to clarify that point so the kid might start to trust him. He knew that was going to be a long road though so he wasn't holding his breath that he'd earn the kids trust any time soon.
After that he moved on to telling the child why he should care about helping people, his eyes flashing angrily but he did not take his own issues out on Skye and he never would since it wasn't the child's fault that he apparently had a misguided outlook on life. He was a bit surprised when the kid glared at him and growled out his own questions before announcing some of his past, the bit about him being forcefully taken from his parents was a bit of an unpleasant revelation for Logan since he hadn't known that the order did that and it sort of bugged him. Logan's parents had agreed to let him go once Dio spoke to him, but he supposed that if they hadn't he still would have had to be trained so Dio might have kidnapped him. "I'm sorry your start with the order was so bad, it shouldn't have happened like that and I have no idea why it did. I'll look into it if you want, see if I can track down your mother and next time we're in that area we can go see her." He said, not sure if it would make the kid feel better or not but Logan had been happy as a boy when he got the chance to visit his mom. He went on then to address the other part of Skye's little rant. "As for the war effort, it's not just our war Skye. The Earl wants to wipe out everyone, that includes you, your mother and everyone else in the world. You may not have chosen to be an accommodater but you are and it's your duty to help people with the gift that God gave you" he explained again, actually surprising himself with how philosophical he was sounding and eerily echoing what his own mater had told him but he supposed that was part of it.
Now that the 'business' matters were taken care of he decided to deal with Skye's foul mouth and he told the kid as much as he went to get the hot sauce and then went and caught Skye to grab his face and squirt the hot sauce into his mouth, not really having trouble doing it even though the child was fighting him. He released Skye as soon as he did it and issued his warning about behaving himself and not cussing, and he was actually pleasantly surprised when Skye bit off the word 'bastard' and instead started to pace around in frustration. He leaned against the counter and watched Skye pace and pant, actually amused by the little boy's antics but he didn't show it so that he would not upset the kid. When Skye chipped off some ice he considered telling the kid to stop sucking on it but decided not to since he knew that water really didn't help with that. Instead he just kept a close eye on the clock and when it was almost five minutes he went over to the cabinet to get a glass for the boy's milk since Skye had followed his orders so he was going to get the promised relief for his tongue. "Alright, Skye, come over here and get this." He said as he poured the milk and then held the glass out for the child to take, knowing from experience that milk would make it stop burning pretty much immediately so the kid should feel better after he drank it. When the kid was doing that he spoke again, "I dont want to hear that kind of language out of you again Skye, next time you'll get the same thing and you'll get spanked for it. You're too young to be talking like that. Now come with me, we need to go visit Hevlaska" He said, walking towards the door and thawing the ice so that it turned into a puddle on the floor, which he'd clean up later since it wasn't an issue now. Once that was done he held the door open and waited to see if the kid would follow, fully intending on catching him by the back of his shirt collar if he tried to make a run for it.
