The day was quite warm, or the warmest it had been in a while. It made a change from the showers of rain over the past week anyway. James smiled to himself, catching a ray of sun from the window as he looked over to his little boy. "Alright Nate, time to go." he said with a smile on his face.

"Coat and shoes on, son." The man added, going over to get his little son's coat and shoes for him. He knelt down in front of the little boy and zipped his coat up for him. He held up both shoes then and looked at the little boy, "Okay Nathan, which one is the left shoe? Show Daddy what a smart little boy you are." he said gently, looking at his sweet little boy.

He planned to go to the beach with him, looking forward to spending the day with his son. But Nathan knew to behave, or else he would get this look from Daddy.

James ruffled young Nathan's hair and kissed his forehead. "Daddy loves you too baby boy, and yeah we're gonna go to the beach and Daddy and Nathan are going to build the biggest sand city the world has ever seen!" he chuckled enthusiastically.

When Nathan said that it was the right one, James beamed proudly and nodded his head. "That's my clever little boy." he praised and tickled his side. "You're getting smarter than Daddy." he teased and helped the little boy put on his green sandals.

"Now Nate, honey." James said suddenly, holding both of his little boy's hands in his own much bigger ones. "You know that you need to be a good boy, Daddy doesn't want to have to smack your bottom."

James rose an eyebrow as Nathan said 'but' and as he listened he fought the urge to chuckle, seeing his little boy so over dramatic about a spanking was a little funny. "Yes young man, Daddy would spank your little bare hiney if you were a naughty boy on the beach." he answered and smiled softly, running a hand through his little blonde hair.

"But you're going to be a good boy for Daddy, aren't you?"

James chuckled as the little boy's mouth ran away with his words. "I'll buy you some nice ice cream if you're a good boy, and yes we can jump in the waves together." he answered and grinned, "Come on then kiddo." he said, standing upright and leading his little boy out to the car by his hand.

Once there he buckled Nathan in to his little car seat and then went to sit in the drivers seat. "Do you want some happy music on?"

James looked at Nathan through the rear view mirror and gave him a stern look. "One strap wouldn't keep you properly safe, so you have to have those straps." he answered and then looked back curiously, starting the engine and pulling out of the drive.

"What happy song?" James asked and then nodded, "Yes Daddy would like to hear."

James rocked his head from side to side as he listened to his kid's little song, it was just adorable, though he had to wince at the louder note. "That's a very nice song kiddo." he chuckled and got out on to the main road. "Daddy's little celebrity." he complimented and smiled at him through the mirror.

James was starting to think he'd be humming that song all day at work tomorrow, but he didn't mind so much, as long as his little boy was happy - and that was all that counted. The man looked up and switched off the radio as they pulled up at the beach parking lot.

"Alright baby, we're here." he smiled at him and went round to lather up his exposed skin with sunblock, dabbing a little blob on his nose and chuckling. "Come on then kiddo." he said, unbuckling the little boy and letting him out the car seat.

"Hold Daddy's hand because it's very busy and lots and lots of people and cars here."

James chuckled down at his son and he nodded, "Okay I'll be good if you will." he joked and walked with his little boy, leading him across busy roads and down to the seafront. He looked over as the little boy mentioned pop corn and he nodded. James didn't like popcorn or the smell of it.

"Yes and it's very bad for tiny teeth." he answered, ruffling his son's golden hair. "Come on, let's go and paddle in the sea."

James smiled at that, Nate was so innocent. He nodded his head and ran with the little boy down to where the sea met the shore and he rolled up the bottom of his jeans and took his shoes off before smiling at his son.

"Alright kiddo, c'mon." he chuckled and jumped over the first wave with him.

James smiled and looked at him, "When you're big like Daddy, you'll get hair on your legs too." he answered and jumped with him as the wave came by. He stopped suddenly when the kid said he needed to use the toilet. "Okay, hold it in little man." he said softly and rushed with him to the nearest bathroom, holding his hand.

"Okay, go on in." James said, standing outside the stall and waiting for the little boy.
