Basil of Baker street sat peacefully in the armchair of his livingroom, casually reading the paper as he was toasted by the fire beside him. The brown mouse hadn't had a case for a while, and was looking for something to distract him in the mean time. It was just as he was thinking about this, that he heard sounds coming from the kitchen, causing him to look up from his paper to see what was going on. Mrs Hudson had gone home for the night, so he was uncertain about where the noises were coming from. Out of curiosity, he got up, and slowly made his way towards the kitchen, intent on discovering the source of the sounds.

Sandy was a little 6 year old mousegirl. She had ran away from the orphanage she had been living until now because the children got neglected there. It was now 3 days that the little street urchin was wandering around and she was hungry and dirty!

As she passed Bakerstreet she could smell some nice things and so she followed her little nose. She saw an halfopeb window and managed to get inside the house. What a lucky day! She was in the kitchen and so the little mousegirl began to look for some food.

Basil entered the kitchen, and was imediately suprised by what he saw. There, scrabling around looking for food, was a little mouse girl, no older than six. He was however, releived that it was not a greater threat like a thug, but he knew that he still needed to adress it. "Hello" he said, walking behind the child and tapping her on her shoulder, "what are you doing here?". He was to sure to make his voice curious as opposed the angry, not wanting to frighten her any more than she was.

Little Sandy looked around and then someone tapped on her shoulder an spoke. She jumped and squeaked. Then she crawled under the kitchentable. She hid her face but her little bottom was sticking out as she believed she was hidden now! "Eeeep!" what would happen? Would she be thrown out or..or maybe eaten? She had a vivid fantasy.

Basil found himself slightly amused by the childs actions, letting out a small chuckle as he knelt down in front of her. "Now, now" he said, gently taking her hands and holding them in his, "I'm not going to hurt you, there's no need to hide".

She trembled as he knelt and took her hands. "N..No?..You not goin´to eats me?" she asked. She tilted her little headand looked at him with her big eyes. "Uhm..m..maybe you have somethings to eats for me? Pllleaase?"

Basil was suprised by the girls forwardness, nodded anyway, leading her to the table as he looked around for something for her to eat. He wasn't sure why he was doing this, but something told him that the little mouse haden't seen decent food in quite some time. Eventually, he returned with a plate of Mrs Hudsons crimpets, placing them before the little girl. "Here you are" he said, "these should fill you up somewhat".

"Ohhhh ohhh!" her eyes went big and the little mouse ate, well she rather gulped it down in whole...so she coughed and something got stuck.

She smiled and ate now slower. "Lile this? I'm sowwy I hadn't hads foodfor..uhm..2 days or so." she explained. She ate it up and then said:"Thank wou I have to gonow. Bye bye."
