"Perhaps this would be a good time, to return to the Enterprise, Captain?" Spock suggested, hands tucked behind his back, as he looked over Jim searching for an invisible threat. "I do not think that there are any life forms on this planet." And just as Spock said such, two young boys came running out of a near by cave, buck naked, but they seemed happy enough, playing catch and chase with one another.

Spock quirked a brow, watching the children play. "I stand corrected." he said flatly. "Children, are you not cold, without clothes to keep you warm?"

One of the boys stopped and looked at the Vulcan. He was about seven years old, his hair was blonde and dirty, his eyes were a bright blue. "Your ears are funny!" he laughed and pointed.

Spock was unfazed. "I imagine they must seem odd, to you." he answered, "But you failed to answer the question, child."

"Clothes are for stupid people, who want to dress all fancy!" The child answered, he had no name, his parents died before he could gain one. "Like you two!"

Spock glanced to Jim before then to the second child. "What are your names, children?"

"He's shut. And I'm, the hell up." The boy snorted before then going over to Jim and frowning up at him. "Why're you on OUR planet?!"

Jim shook his head, crossing his arms and holding the scanner up a bit higher. “No Spock, look. You can clearly see that there are carbon-based life-forms somewhere nearby.” He said, glancing around before raising a brow when two naked little boys came running out a cave near where the two were standing and speaking. “See Spock? I told you!” Jim said, before calling over to the boys.

“Are you two lost? It’s getting a bit dark, and this planet gets cold at night.” He asked, concerned that the two little boys would be sick if they stayed out in the cold for long.

“We don’ need you! Just fine be ourselves!” The smaller of the children demanded, stomping his little foot in a temper and glaring up at Jim. He was a bit small, with dark hair and chocolate eyes.

Jim raised a brow once again, before shaking his head. “Watch that tone Kid. Where are your parents?” He asked sternly.

“Gone. Never knew my parents.” He said with a glare, slipping closer to his companion and giggling at the other boy’s joke. “Yeah! Get out of here! We don’ need you!”

Jim sighed, looking over at Spock. “We can’t just leave them here.”

Spock listened to both children, and he was a little surprised by how disrespectful they were, but it seemed they had never had parental influence. He looked to the Captain and nodded his head, "Indeed, this planet is soon to become a mass of ice and frosted air, the children will not survive in those conditions. I propose we bring them back to the Enterprise with us." he said.

He looked to the smaller child, thinking he was the younger of the two. "Come children, we must get you somewhere safe, and warm." he informed, feeling a slight chill in the air.

The blonde boy scoffed and shook his head, "We're not going with weirdos and oldies like you two!" he snapped, folding his arms.

"I must inform you child, that you have no comment on the matter." Spock answered, a slight firmness to his tone. He then leaned close to Kirk's ear. "I wonder Captain, are you familiar with spanking?"

Jim was also a bit shocked to hear the blatant disrespect in the boys' voices. If he had dared speak to his step-father that way...Jim shuddered slightly, before looking to Spock with a small sigh. "They will freeze to death. We have to bring them back, there's no proposing about anything. I'm not going to abandon these two boys." He said firmly, before looking to the blond and raising a stern brow.

The smaller child pouted when he was addressed, shaking his head and sticking his tongue out at the Vulcan. "No! You are not the boss of me! Can't tell me whatta do!" He snapped, pouting in response to that.

Jim was about to retort to the little blond when Spock beat him to it, and he turned to the Vulcan with a look of utter shock. "Spock! You want to hit them?" He hissed softly in Spock's ear, eyes wide and slightly hurt. "What do you plan on accomplishing with that?!"

Spock quirked a brow, he was certain he recalled Jim Kirk mentioning spankings taking place in his youth. "Forgive me Captain, it was merely a suggestion." he informed before then looking down at the small child, with their tongue out. He noticed both their inner thighs were red with a rash, they were both very unclean. He reached out and picked up the smaller child, careful not to irritate any sore areas. "Now that is enough of such behavior." he scolded, tone firm like a parents would be.

"Captain, let us return to the Enterprise." he suggested, "The children need medical attention."

The blonde boy frowned when Spock picked up his friend, and he couldn't help but feel jealous, he had never been held...never been loved. He looked away and picked up a rock, hurling it at Spock.

Spock caught the rock quickly, "That was very foolish child, you may have almost hit your friend." he scolded.

"I'll hit yours then!" He snapped, throwing a rock at Jim, hitting his arm.

Jim may have lied a bit to his First Officer about being spanked as a child...no, what had happened to him wasn't just a spanking but Jim didn't say anything more on the subject to Spock. "I know Spock, I'm not mad at you." He said softly, glancing back to the children and also noting the fact that the two were unclean and likely sore in quite a few areas. Jim blinked as Spock picked up the smaller child, never having heard nor seen this side of his Vulcan friend. "Yes...we have to return soon. I think we've found the life we originally came for." He sighed, glancing back to the blonde who did not look happy in the slightest.

"Lemme go! Lemme go!" The brunette cried, kicking and squirming to get away from the Vulcan who was holding him. The child refused to admit he may like being held safely like this, intent on getting back to his friend.

Jim raised a brow when the older boy threw a rock at Spock, before grunting when another rock hit him in the arm. "And that's where I draw the line Kiddo." He said firmly, stepping forward and hoisting the blond into his arms and keeping a firm grip on him. "No more throwing things." Jim added, before signaling for the four of them to beamed back up to Enterprise.

Spock held the child firmly as he kicked and squirmed, not at all frustrated, he was calm and patient with the young boy. "Child, calm yourself." he said firmly before then looking to Jim as they were beamed back onto the Enterprise. "Captain, we should take the children to the medical bay." he suggested, waiting for the Captain's confirmation.

The blonde boy squirmed and kicked, pushing against Jim and shaking his head, "Nooo! Put me down!" he snapped, even though he wanted to be held like that. "Fuck off!" he yelled, grabbing Jim's hair and pulling hard.

The little boy was not pleased when he was prevented from being let go, shrieking in frustration when Spock continued to hold him tightly. "I do not want to be calm! Let me go! I do not want to be with you!" He wailed, emotional levels rising to a state no child could handle. The tiny boy burst into tears, hiding his face in his hands while his friend took a more violent approach.

"Yes, we should. Bones, we're bringing some visitors to see you." Jim said into his com., before yelping slightly when his hair was pulled. "And you Young Man, need to learn some manners." He added sternly, briefly tempted to give the child a pop on the bottom before remembering what his step-father had done. Jim shook his head, carrying the child to the Medical Bay before setting him down gently on a bed. "No more naughtiness."

Spock rose a brow when the little boy he was holding suddenly burst into tears, and he shook his head, slightly swaying him from side to side. "Calm down child, you are safe here." he said softly before following Jim to the medical bay and setting the young boy down next to his friend.

Bones looked over at the two boys and smiled softly, "Hi there." he said, taking out a tub of soothing cream for what looked like urine rashes down their legs. "This might hurt a bit, but you'll feel better after." he said, nearing the blonde boy first and was surprised when the child actually bit his finger. "Ow!" he frowned and hauled him up, giving his bottom a firm smack. "Young man I will not tolerate that behavior, is that understood?"

The boy yelped and whimpered, rubbing his sore bottom, he had never been punished for anything. "I'm sorry Mr. Bones..." he said softly and Bones wrapped his arms around him, hugging him close.

"I know, it's okay." he said, before then looking to the other boy, "So, do you both have names?" he asked gently, "And I wonder if you would both like a piece of candy?" he grinned.

"We don't have names. And yes!! Candy!" He grinned happily.

The little boy whimpered as Spock began to rock with him, sniffling as he curled up in the Vulcan's arms. "N-Never safe...w-wanna go back!" He cried, kicking his little feet and trying to squirm away from the Vulcan and glaring up at the doctor as he neared them with a tub of cream. He moved down off the bed, before quickly going to hide under one of the beds in the room.

The child squeaked in fear when Bones smacked his friend on the bottom, shaking his head even at the mention of candy. He wriggled further under the bed, hiding his face in his lap as he tried to pretend he was anywhere but here.

Jim watched as Bones took care of the small children, before moving to stand beside Spock to speak with his first officer. "Spock, what do we do with those boys? We can't exactly keep them here, with no one to look after them." He asked softly, sighing a bit. "I feel bad...they're so alone..."
