The mission had gone well, despite Peter's sacrifice play, that earned him a good telling off from the White Collar institute, and of course....they had informed his wife. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't nervous about the confrontation with her, he loved her more than life itself...but she'd taken a page out of his book. Peter Burke punished his CI Neal Caffrey, with a good spanking when he misbehaved, and El had decided the same method would be appropriate for him. Peter agreed that spanking was an effective method...which was sort of a double edged sword as far as he was concerned.

Peter Burke was currently waiting down in the conference room for his wife to show, when suddenly Jones walked in, carrying a laptop, with recorded CTV footage on screen. "Jones, what's goin' on?" Peter asked, frowning.

"Looks like Caffrey's adopted some old habits." Jones sighed, playing the footage which revealed Neal breaking into one of the archive rooms of the new Art Gallery down town. Peter was glaring at the screen by the end of it.

Neal had been his CI for about six months now, and Peter knew Jail was not the right punishment for Neal anymore, all could be fixed with a good discipline session. "I'm gonna kill him." He growled, reaching into his pocket for his phone. Once Neal picked up, Peter calmed his anger.

"Neal I need you down at the Bureau. I need to look over some....evidence with you." He informed, before hanging up and watching Jones leave, only to give him a look which meant.....El had arrived.

Neal hadn't gone back to the FBI headquarters with Peter after their mission, he told the man he had a few other things that he needed to do. Which wasn't technically a lie, he just hadn't been entirely forthcoming about just what those things were, considering he knew just how his handler would feel about the situation. So he kept it to himself and went back to June's place though when his phone rang he answered it, surprised to hear Peter telling him that they needed to go over some evidence.

"Peter, are we really that popular?" he asked in his usual light hearted manner. "Just solved one case and already being handed another? Well alright, I'll be there in a few." Closing the phone and slipping it back into his pocket Neal got to his feet and made his way to the door, grabbing his hat and jacket as he left.

Elizabeth Burke hadn't really been raised in a household where corporal punishment was commonplace but after being with Peter for all these years she knew that he was a firm believer in it and that he employed that method with his CI Neal, who was like an overgrown kid at times. The idea to start using that method on her husband hadn't entered into her mind until he'd done something that could have ended up with him seriously hurt or even killed and that had been the last straw as far as she was concerned.

So she'd taken a page out of his book and given him a good spanking.

Which was exactly what he was in for today as well, the woman talking to Jones for a short time and then making her way to the Bureau to deal with her husband's bad choice. When she arrived she made her way to the conference room where she knew that he'd be waiting for her, the woman nodding to those that she passed and then pausing in the doorway to look at her husband.

"Do you have anything you'd like to say to me Peter?" she asked, her voice and expression stern but there was also that trace of concern and the obviously loving look that went along with it to make it a somewhat odd mixture.

If Peter wasn't so angry and disappointed with Neal, he would have carried on the banter with the young man, but that wasn't the case at that point. The look Jones sent him, told him that El had arrived, and the man took a deep breath to calm himself, before rising to his feet. As she walked to the room, hovering in the door way, Peter nervously altered his tie. "Hon..." he paused and walked a little closer to her, he hated to see her looking so concerned, he just hoped she hadn't been too upset.

"I know what I did seemed like a stupid idea...but it seemed like the only option I had, at the time." Peter explained, "El...I'm okay, I'm still here." he informed, kissing her lips gently and wrapping his arms around her, sighing a little. "I'm sorry El, I didn't mean to scare you hon."

Mozzie snorted awake and sat up on the couch he'd been sleeping on, when he heard the phone call between Neal and the suit. "Neal?" he asked, but the man had already left, so Mozzie stood and started making them both some lunch, for when Neal returned. That was, unless Peter decided to keep Neal for a long time, then Mozzie didn't mind having to force two meals down his throat.

El looked at Peter when he started to adjust his tie, knowing that was a nervous gesture that he was prone to and she might have thought that was cute if the circumstances were different but as it was she was too upset with him to entertain such thoughts. "I realize that you're okay and I thank God for that but it could have been so different Peter and you need to think about those things before doing foolish stuff like this," she scolded him, hugging him when he walked over to her and wrapped his arms around her but that didn't mean she was going to forgive him. Not yet at least. "Just think about how I'd feel if I lost you..and Neal. He relies on you Peter, you have people that need you, you can't take risks like this," she told him before pulling away and looking at him. "And I think you know what has to happen next," she added, her voice once again firm as she looked at him.

Neal didn't know what was so urgent but he did notice that Peter didn't cut up with him the way that the man typically would and that sort of unnerved him a bit. So he made his way from June's place back to the Bureau, walking into the building and looking around for Peter. He wasn't sure where the man might be but he made his way up to Peter's office only to find that it was empty. "Okay if he had me come here and then left I'm not going to be amused by that," he murmured to himself, the young conman turning around to once again look for his handler.

Peter couldn't help but feel guilty when she mentioned how she and Neal would feel if he had died, or if something had gone horribly wrong. "I know...it just seemed like the right thing to do at the time El..." he answered softly, looking into her beautiful blue eyes and then sort of paling when she mentioned that he knew what had to happen next. "El...hon, that's not...I mean...I don't think we need to do that ....especially not here." he said, averting his gaze away from his wife, to show he was nervous and embarrassed, his ears turning a slight scarlet shade.

Jones looked up and saw Neal wandering around like a sort of lost puppy, and he chuckled before approaching him. He was well aware of discipline in the Burke household, that both Peter and El punished with spankings. So he didn't show any disappointment for what he'd done, knowing he'd soon be kicking and squealing over Peter's lap.....of course when El was done. "Hey Caffrey, El's with Peter at the moment, so why don't we grab a coffee?"

El knew that she was going to make him feel worse with what she had to say but her words were true and she needed him to realize that there was more at stake than whether or not he solved a case. There were people that cared for him and needed him, which he didn't seem to have thought about before making this decision. When he started trying to tell her that it wasn't necessary, showing that he was embarrassed she shook her head slightly and said, "I'm sorry Peter but if this were reversed and you were going to punish Neal then you know that you wouldn't wait and I'm not going to either." As she said that she walked over to one of the chairs, sitting down and then patting her lap. "Over my knee Peter," she told him, pulling a hairbrush from her purse as she said that and then looking at him with an expectant look on her face.

Neal looked over when he heard Jones calling out his name and he got a sort of sympathetic look on his face when the man mentioned that Peter was with El. "I'm guessing that's not going to be a pleasant conversation," he said before nodding his head. "Alright, coffee sounds good. Are you buying?" he asked that last question with his usual roguish grin, amusing himself currently though he liked Jones so he wasn't going to push the man's buttons too much.

Peter opened his mouth to protest, but his wife was right, if this had been Neal, the lad would already be kicking and screaming over his lap right now. He sighed and nodded his head, his brown eyes moving over to the chair where his wife sat and then patted her lap. He hated that the division had so many windows right now, but the area was uninhabited plus Jones, Neal and El were the only ones in the building at that point, since it was near quitting time. He swallowed hard and forced himself to walk over to his wife. "I'm sorry El..." he pleaded before then laying over her lap, his cheeks flushing a pink color.

Jones sighed, "Peter knew better...and I think even he knows that." he said to Neal before then chuckling and nodding his head, "Yeah, this once, but you owe me Caffrey." he grinned before grabbing the coffees and then sitting down with the young CI. He felt sort of bad that the man had no idea he'd be in the exact same position as Peter soon enough.

El knew that her reasoning was sound and she knew that Peter would not have given Neal a reprieve so she was not giving him one either. If he hadn't wanted to be punished at work then he shouldn't have risked his life, that was the way that she was looking at things. She kept her gaze focused on him as he debated wtih himself before moving over to her where he obediently draped himself over her knee. "I know that you're sorry Peter and after this is over you'll be forgiven...but before that you're going to be even more sorry than you are now," she told him, taking his trousers and pulling them down along with his boxers, baring his bottom before picking up the brush and tapping it against his bottom.

Neal looked at Jones when the man said that Peter knew better but he just shook his head and said, "Sometimes you gotta think outside the box to solve these things." Which was something he was very good at though it oftentimes landed him in the same kind of trouble that Peter was currently in. The topic shifted to coffee at that point and he asked if Jones was buying, the man grinning again when Jones said that he owed him. "I'll keep that in mind, and take you somewhere good," Neal said in his usual charming way as he took the coffee. He still had no clue that he was in trouble right now so he was completely at ease as he sat there drinking coffee with Jones. "So do you know what sort of evidence Peter wants to talk to me about?" he asked casually.

Peter gaped and almost protested when El pulled down his slacks and boxers, the breeze over his bared bottom was so unwelcoming, but thankfully he managed to stop himself. He hated being spanked, especially since he was way too old for it, at least Neal was sort of in the margin of being young enough to discipline. He flinched when he felt the wood tap against his exposed skin, and he groaned. "Hon...please I am sorry, let me make it up to you..." he tried.

Jones gave Neal a thoughtful look before then shaking his head, "I think it's better discussed with Peter, besides I'm not really all that clued up on the facts." he answered, wondering why Neal had reverted back to stealing, he was sure Peter turned that around a while ago. "Neal, just a random question, but the last time you stole something, what did Peter do?"

The embarrassment level was guaranteed to rise once again when El pulled down his slacks and boxers, which she knew and that was what she was going for since she thought that it would help Peter to remember the lesson longer. "I know that you're sorry but that isn't going to cut it this time," El told him, not to be cruel but just to inform him that he was not getting out of this punishment. And once that had been said she raised the brush and started peppering his bottom, sit spots and the backs of his thighs.

Neal looked at Jones when he evaded the question and that caused the young man to look at him through vivid blue eyes but he didn't say anything. He was a bit startled by the question that the man asked of him however, Neal arching a brow as he said, "That's quite the random question...and not something I much want to discuss. It was an unpleasant experience." His tone was quiet as he said that, the man looking away after a moment.
