Act your Age - CleverFox/VulcanSpock
Oliver Clark was born on the twenty-ninth of December, the day he was taken away from his parents after an agreement with the parents themselves, they never really wanted the child in the first place, it was just a duty they had to perform for the secret services. Oliver was going to be the first of many adult-child agents, using them for things adults just could not do. They trained him to think like an adult, to act like an adult. Which had some negative affect on Oliver, the child thinking he could do all the things an adult could do. Pretty soon he became the top agent of the secret services, never once failing a mission.
"Why do I have to train up a stupid rookie?" Ollie asked, pouting like a child normally would, well he was still a child, a part of him longing to be a child, but he knew he couldn't be. "I have better things to do, plus my bills for my apartment need paying." he frowned. Even though the blonde boy was only eight years old.
"It'll be fine Agent Clark, besides we need the best of the best to train this guy up, he has some real potential." Answered another top agent.
At that time, a guard walked the new rookie agent down the hall and stopped behind a closed door. "Go on in, you'll find agent Clark in there." he informed, smirking slightly since the man had no idea.

Jayce Hawkins was only twenty six years old and had no idea why in the world he'd been recruited for the secret service but he hadn't asked any question about that since the pay was good and the benefits couldn't be beat even if the job itself was dangerous to say the very least. The initial training hadn't been all that bad since he was an athletic young man but when he was told that he was going to be training with one of the top agents he naturally got a bit worried. That case of nerves only served to increase as he was lead down a hallway toward a room, not aware of what he was going to find on the other side but of course not expecting what was actually awaiting him.
"Alright," he said when he was told to go into the room, the man turning the knob and pushing the door open to reveal two figures. Naturally he thought that the adult was Agent Clark so he turned his attention to him. "Agent Hawkins sir," he said respectfully, having came from a military family so he had always been raised to respect those that were older and higher ranked than he himself. He did spare a brief glance to the child that was standing there but that was confusing to him since he had no idea what possible purpose there could be for something like that.
It wasn't his place to ask however and so he didn't, Jayce instead just focusing his attention on the man and waiting for the instructions that he was fully expecting to receive.

Oliver and the man both looked at the rookie agent and then at each other when it seemed that he thought the adult in the room was agent Clark. The man chuckled and shook his hand, "I'm Agent Benson, this little whipper snapper here, is agent Clark." he informed the man, "Don't let his age fool you, he's the best of the best, even if he is a brat." he chuckled, earning himself a glare from the young eight year old.
"Agent Oliver Clark." Ollie said, shaking the agents hand, though he had to stand on his tip toes. "Guess I gotta train you up, I hope you realize what an inconvenience this is for me." he sighed, dismissing the other agent. He then sat down, a file on the desk. "So you'll be by my side at all times, and we'll stay at my apartment." he informed, heading over to the stash of alcohol and pouring two drinks. "I wonder if you're a scotch man?" he asked, pushing the glass toward him, keeping his own drink in his hand.
"So, anything to add. Hawkins, was it?"

The look that appeared on Jayce's face was no doubt priceless as it was revealed to him that the child in the room was in fact the agent that he was supposed to be training under. He actually gaped for a moment before taking the hand that was held out to him and shaking it, still looking more than a little bit dumbfounded, that was really the only way to describe the situation. He watched as the other man left and then turned his attention back to the little boy and that was really the only thing that he could be called, Jayce just found it really hard to think of him as an agent regardless of what he had just been told.
It wasn't until the kid actually went and produced liquor that he somewhat snapped out of his stupor, Jayce frowning as he walked over to the kid. "The only thing that I have to add is that you aren't going to drink that," he said, taking the glass out of his hand and holding it where the boy couldn't reach it. "I don't care how intelligent you are there are still laws and you are still way too young to be drinking," Jayce told him in what could only be described as a stern tone of voice.
He didn't care if this kid was supposed to be training him and was some super agent, there were just some things that kids didn't do and this was definitely top of that list.

Oliver pretty much got away with murder, the agency didn't care what he did so long as he completed missions, but he'd never had a close partner before or anything like that, so this was all new to him. He was trying to be a good host, pouring out drinks for the two of them so that they could discuss business. Though Ollie frowned when the man actually took his drink away and placed it high where he couldn't reach, that causing the agent to frown. "Excuse me? Who do you think you are? This is my office and I can drink if I like." he answered, narrowing his eyes.
Still, his height betray him and he couldn't actually reach the alcoholic drink so he would just have to accept that as it was. "And don't use that tone with me, Rookie." he said in a sort of snide tone of voice. "I may be a kid, but don't you dare treat me like one." he said, frowning up at the man.

Jayce could tell that he had startled the kid and then that surprise turned into annoyance but he really just didn't care about that since there was really just no way that he was going to allow an eight year old to drink alcohol. Nevermind the laws, there was the prospect of alcohol poisoning since his little body just wasn't equipped to handle something like that and there was no way that Jayce was allowing it, he didn't care what the agency thought about the matter.
He gave the kid a withering look when Oliver decided to get an attitude with him and say that he could drink what he liked. "You can drink whatever you want as long as it's non alcoholic," Jayce told him calmly before shaking his head at the kid when he started speaking to him in that sniee tone. "I'll use whatever tone I wish and if you act like a kid and do stupid things like that then you better believe that I'll treat you like one in a heartbeat," Jayce told him, looking down at the kid and making it clear that he was not going to tolerate something like that regardless of the fact that Oliver technically outranked him.

Oliver narrowed his eyes, but he couldn't exactly pull rank with the man, because their new partnership was to do with an equal rank shared between them, even if Jayce was a rookie and Ollie was an expert. "You have no right, and you can quit scolding me, asshole." he told the man, frowning at him before sitting down at his desk again, "Are we going to discuss this or what?" he asked impatiently, looking over the files before pulling out a cigar from his desk, and placing it between his lips.
"Hm, okay so the way it looks is that-" he paused, fishing around in his pocket. "Ugh, one sec, I left the matches in the cabinet." he said, though in a clipped tone, because he didn't like the man right now. He wandered over and pulled out the matches, lighting one so he could light the cigar.

Jayce looked at Oliver and he once again frowned when the boy told him to quit scolding him and then went so far as to call him an asshole. "You're dangerously close to an attitude adjustment little boy," Jayce told him in a warning tone of voice, debating calling him young man but he thought that maybe reminding him that he was a little boy would do the kid a world of good. He was about to agree that they could discuss what was going on with the case or whatever they were going to do but before he got the chance the kid pulled out a cigar and that caused Jayce to roll his eyes.
"Seriously?" he said as he walked over, snatching the cigar and extinguishing the match all in a matter of seconds. "Look kid, I get that you're really smart, it's been established. But you are still a kid and there are still rules that apply to you so knock it off," Jayce told him, crinkling up his nose since he hated the smell of cigar and cigarette smoke anyway and had never understood why anyone would want such a nasty habit to begin with.

Oliver sort of stared at Jayce blankly when he said he was close to getting an attitude adjustment, and of course Ollie had no idea what that even was, so he ignored it and went on t TRY and smoke a cigar. He growled when Jayce took it from him and told him to knock it off. "How dare you! You really are an asshole!" he snapped at the man, wishing he was taller right now but shrugging it off. "Just because you're too gay to smoke, doesn't mean I am."
"I can do what I want, I always have, and I'm not going to listen to you because you're so far up your own ass." Ollie smirked, sitting back down on his comfy office chair, while Jayce was left to sit in the harder chair that was bound to give anyone butt ache.

Being repeatedly called an asshole was starting to grate on his last nerve and hearing the boy getting an attitude with him was really the last straw, the man giving the child a hard look as he walked over and snatched him up. "Alright, I did warn you," Jayce told him as he held the boy under his arm for a moment before he sat down on the chair and deposited the little brat over his lap. "If you're determined to act like a spoiled brat then I'm just going to treat you like one and that includes putting you over my lap for a sound spanking," Jayce told him, his voice calm and matter of fact, he might as well have been discussing the weather or something similar. Having said that he raised his hand and delivered a hard smack to the boy's clothed backside, not wanting to embarrass the kid by pulling down his pants and underwear but that was a one time thing so if Oliver pushed him to doing this again then all bets were off in that regard. He was not going to put up with bratty behavior from a colleague who was supposed to be his senior, it just was not going to happen.
"This was not the way that I envisioned this day going," Jayce told the boy in a stern voice as he started to pepper the child's bottom. "But you brought it on yourself."
