Cops and Robbers - PassionateShadow/VulcanSpock
"Report, Mr. King?"
"Nothing out of the ordinary, just your average bonfire night, sir." A man with dazzling blue eyes answered, report files tucked under his arm. "A busy night for the fire department I imagine." he chuckled and sat himself down. "Y'know Jim, we could spend today down at the local pub and-"
"-And if something should happen here? No." Another man answered, shaking his head and propping his feet up on his desk, crossing one over the other. "A police officer's work is never done, we both know that well." he grinned, a sort of sad grin, but he did enjoy his job nonetheless. "But we're off the clock at six, we'll go then."
"Sounds good to me." The slightly taller man answered and glanced at the clock, dismayed to find that it was around nine hours before they were off the clock. "I can already taste that brandy." he sighed, mind off ahead a few hours into the night. "Besides I still need to get you drunk, before I die."
"I've never seen the point of getting drunk, Leonard." Jim answered, rolling his deep hazel eyes and folding his arms across his broad chest. "But I'll humour you." he smirked and then both pairs of eyes turned to the door as a taller man entered, a file in his hand. "Ah, Shaun we were wondering when-
"Sorry to cut you short, but it looks as though you've been selected for the buddy program." Shaun answered, running a hand through his jet black hair. He handed Jim the file and sat down beside Leonard.
"Buddy program?" Jim repeated, opening the file and going through it, reading up that he would be getting a partner who had quite a bit of history to him. "Terry." he murmured, thinking the name over in his head. It didn't seem out of the ordinary. "Well, well, looks like we're going to get a troublemaker on the team." he chuckled, putting the file down. "A young offender who was able to turn his life around, it doesn't get more inspiring than that." He smiled.
"I guess not, but Jim...you're an officer, not a babysitter." Leonard answered, half serious.
"There's no reason I can't book and spank." Jim answered, causing the three men-the three friends to laugh a little among themselves. Jim was so old fashioned. "He'll be coming in a few hours, gives us some time to prepare, I suppose."
"I'll make some coffee then." Shaun answered, heading over with Leonard as Jim mentally prepared himself for what was about to come.

Terry had taken his time this morning getting up and getting set for the day. He wasn't entirely sure what to expect. He glanced over to the manilla folder that was sitting right on the tiny night stand in his cramped 'one room' apartment. He dressed in his best pair of jeans, which had dull faded stone blue-grey hue. He pulled on a riveted leather belt and then secured his 'holster' to his leg making sure it had everything he usually carried with him.
For a moment he took in his own appearance in the mirror. He ran his fingers through the jet black tresses pushing his bangs out of his face. Picking up a comb he set to work on combing out his long dark haired, meaning to pull it back and out of the way. It wasn't long enough to where he usually cut it. It only came down to just a little above the tops of hi shoulders. His bangs were layered so that he could see. He figured it'd be better to have it back and out of the way then let his messy 80's gypsy shag and Full house 'uncle Jesse' styled hair down. He wanted to at least make some sort of impression.
He paused looking himself over in the mirror once more as if acceding his image. Soon Terry removed his snake bites. Old guys weren't too pleased with things like that, Terry thought. He also figured in should the moment occur that he be be pressured in to a more physical situation that those weren't the best things to have on. He pulled on a fresh, new black shirt and new black socks picking them out of some packages. He pulled on a leather bomber jacket and pulled on some leather gloves. Next he set a green hat on to the belt loop of his pants, securing it for later use should he not wish to make much eye contact with the fine fellow he as going to meet. Only small silvery BSA eagle scout pin was on this worn and slightly tattered ht pinned off to the right of the bill
His usual goggles were placed over his face and he stuffed three sticks of mint gum in to his mouth. He felt strange sense of apprehension building up inside of him. Shrugging it off he steppe din to some mildly worn, black boots with flames on the side. " Well... Here's to a new beginning." he id aloud looking himself over in the small mirror before snatching up a leather Currier chest bag and the manilla folder and heading out the door.
He pulled up to the police station and eyed over the parking lot in the back. He pulled in and eased off his bike switching of the engine and pocketing the keys. For a few moments he simply eyed over the squad cars that littered the lot. The site of them seemed to bring up a few memories and he cringed inwards. He shook his head and pulled the goggles off his face moving to return them to his 'holster'. Gritting his teeth he took a breath inhaling slowly and deeply setting on his most 'serious ' look and started towards the front. After speaking with the receptionist he was shown in. He was about fifteen minutes early but figured it was good to be punctual the first meeting.
As he entered the room his appearance my have been taken in as some one who was just brought in for possessing. His earlier attempts at coming his hair out has been all for naught His bangs were a spattered fluffy mes having been windswept from the ride over. He was wearing his red round sun glasses when he entered but pulled them from his face moving to pocket then into the inside breast pocket of his jacket. The receptionist was gracious enough to announce or explain whom he was and what he had side the reason he'd come here was as well.
The dark haired young man shifted almost uncomfortably putting weight on to one foot or another. Just being in this sort of environment again was making him feel a tad bit uneasy. He was pretty quiet and didn't seem to say anything for a few moments as he allowed his cerulean blue gaze to take in the faces bout in the room carefully studying their different and unique futures. " Hello." He offered voice coming cross almost as soft open but with small firmness to it.

Jim tapped his fingers a little over the wood of his desk and thought about what this new partner was going to be like. Would he be strong? Rough? Wimpy? He didn't have a clue and it was annoying that he couldn't put much of a face to a name. His dark hazel eyes flicked over to the door as an oddly dressed man entered and stated his greeting. Jim stood and moved forward to shake the man's hand. "Hello, my name is Jim. This is Shaun and Leonard." he explained, gesturing to both of the men and then he stood back to take in the young man's striking appearance. A small smile ghosted his lips but nothing more than that. "You must be Terry."
Shaun rose a brow at the younger man but said nothing, he was more or less the silent type, a very smart man but very silent. He glanced to Jim and then stood, moving to shake the man's hand when his name was brought up, nodding in greeting but saying nothing.
"Good to meet you." Leonard smiled, shaking Terry's hand and then placing both behind his back. "We understand you'll be keeping our Jim on his toes." he chuckled a bit. "Can I get you anything, tea, coffee?"

Terry's blue eyes shifted to that offered hand and almost hesitantly he set out his on hand , clad in a fingerless leather glove. "It' a pleasure to meet you. . . Sir." He aid speaking with a mild gentleness in tone. He'd caught the smile that as passed and mild grin laced his own lips. It was more of a half heated, smile brought on by the contagiousness of Jim's own smirk and the ant to be polite. He exchanged hand hakes with the others a little more easily then he had with Jim.
It was clear by his body language that he was uncomfortable, and uneasy. However the men were making it a little easier for him to relax by displaying seemingly genuinely, nice demeanor's. He as glad for it and some hat relived. Almost as if sensing not to help him feel a little welcomed he breathed in and sighed his tense muscles relaxing visibly.
"That's very kind of you ; However I think I will decline your offer. No thank you- I''m not much for coffee and It's a deal early for tea. " He tried dusting off the rusty old manners his mother had tried to teach him hen he was very young.
"I'd like to think I can be of some help- perhaps provide some sort of useful service." Terry started. "I think I'd rather wish to avoid trouble; Causing any trouble for him I mean." He corrected him self near the end. Terry thought this was going pretty well. It s better than he'd been introspecting so far.

"Well what's ours is yours and so on and so forth." Jim smiled, gesturing to the space of the office, "Feel free to make yourself at home, we don't bite." he smiled softly and then glanced to the clock, it had been earlier than expected when Terry had just shown up but he didn't mind, the man seemed nice, he had good manners and Jim was rather impressed with him. "Well If you won't take that tea, I sure will. Leonard, two sugars, please." he called over and rolled his eyes playfully at the grumble of a response he got.
"Well, the offer's there." Leonard said to Terry and then he sat down, placing the tea in front of Jim and the coffee in front of himself and Shaun who was just reading through an earlier report, nothing to do with the current situation mind. "I'm sure our Jim can show you the ropes, providing you behave yourself." he chuckled and looked over to Shaun, "He's a bit old fashioned, isn't he?"
"Quite so." Shaun answered, not looking up.
Jim smiled a bit, "I'm sure Terry won't be causing trouble. Right Terry?" he asked, looking to the man again.

Terry shifted his gaze across the men and moved to lowly take a seat. He moved chair from the front wall over to the front of Jim's desk sitting down. He relax a small bit crossing one leg over the other but sat up straight. "Right... That's correct, sir." Terry answered feeling little strange hearing the words the two men exchanged.
It was almost like he s missing something, like an inside joke. What ever it as it seemed like the others knew something Terry did not. He thought it only mildly odd that their conversion was redirected back to any sort of trouble making.
" I don't plan on causing you any trouble." he almost repeated now speaking more directly to Jim. "Would like that very much by the y... I mean, if you were to show me how things work round here... I apologize; I've never really seen much from this side of things. " He offered trying to show some enthusiasm for perhaps working along side them.
He shifted hi gaze to each of them before settling on to Jim. "So you're really old fashioned huh? Dose that mean you carry a six shooter and ride in on a fine stallion in to work?" He asked joking mildly hoping to lighten that strange feeling he was getting from that brought up topic.

( aww I love Terry's character, I just wanna hug the guy :3 )
Jim laughed a little more enthusiastically as Terry asked about him being old fashioned, carrying a six shooter and riding on a stallion to work. Oddly enough that sounded awesome to the man. "Oh I wish." he answered and tapped his fingers along the desk somewhat in thought. He liked Terry and he didn't want to scare him off by telling him that he was a spanker, and he'd even spanked Leonard a few times. The man could be pretty fatherly and protective over his force. He viewed them all like family.
"But yes I can show you around, tell you what's what and where the best places to be are." he answered, still holding that gentle smile. He wasn't hiding who he was, he was gentle and compassionate by nature, just not all the time. There was nothing fake about him in the slightest. He stood up and adjusted his shirt, "Come on, I'll take you on a little tour." he said softly, moving toward the door, and using a finger to coax Terry along after him.
Leonard chuckled and shook his head, wanting to say something about Jim being a spanking man, but decided against it. He didn't want to scare Terry off or give him a bad view on Jim. He'd figure it out when the time came along.

With a curt nod the dark haired youth moved to stand. "Alright." He answered, his tone brightening up. Terry moved to follow after Jim but paused just about arms length away. He gave a curious look back over his shoulder at the other two men before returning that blue gaze to Jim.
Terry almost instinctively pocketed his hands, a habit some young parents wanted to desperately teach little children before entering a museum or art gallery. The idea behind such habits were to rind you that you were to look but not touch.
Terry would wait for Jim to take the lead, seemingly following the taller man about like a lost puppy. To any one else who may not have been informed of just why Terry was there they certainly could think up a multitude of other reasons for his presence in the station. He'd allow his eyes to scan over every little thing. It was like Terry was analyzing and memorizing all the fine details of the bland day to day work scheduled for what went on any where.
Often times Terry didn't seem to have much of a happy look to his face. But for now his expression bore that of curiousness, thoughtfulness, as if he were being internally reflective about the world around him. He seemed quiet and skittish almost with his only mildly unusual habits. He tended to prefer to have his back to a wall if possible.
"I appreciate this." He offered to Jim speaking quietly.

Jim smiled and lead Terry along with him out of the coffee room and down the hall, he figured the best thing to do was give Terry a tour of the place, since it was going to be his place of work from now on. He wasn't sure how long this 'buddy program' was going to last, but to be honest he wasn't all that bothered. "This is my office, everyone who misbehaves comes in here, and are never seen again." he chuckled, tapping on the wood door. "Always knock before entering." he then gestured to the door opposite, "That's the CCTV room, where everything is recorded and kept for future reference. This place is like big brother." he smirked.
"Over there is the food court, it's only small, but we get an hour for lunch. Or you can leave the premises and go somewhere else for food, it's up to you really." Jim shrugged, he preferred to stay indoors, he wasn't much of an outside person. "Outside is where we keep the dogs, I'd advise you to stay away from them, unless you want an arm ripped off, they're not really all that cute and cuddly."
He smiled softly as Terry said he appreciated it, and nodded his head, "I'm glad you do, it's no trouble really." he assured. "Cars are out back, but today's pretty slow, usually me and the boys just hibernate in the coffee room until something comes up." he glanced about with those sharp hazel eyes. "I think that's about it." he clucked his tongue. "Do you have anything to ask?"

Terry paid the man some attention listening intently to his words. He took note of which door lead to Jim's office and where the small area for eating was. He took special note not to going near where the dogs were kept.
"What can I expect to be doing for you?" Terry asked curiously. He really didn't know exactly what to expect aside from being a consultant of some sort. " May be I should rephrase that." he dded as his brows furrowed mildly in thought. In truth many things were swarming in that head of his. "What is expected of me?" He asked feeling as if that question's answer may be more directly what he wanted to know.
Terry was trying to be more exact with his words and was using several filters keeping him self in a polite business casual tone.
