Hello! I'm new to AOTK, but not new to roleplaying. I've done various types of online rp'ing over the past 15 years or so, including group roleplays and one-on-one scenarios.
My playing style
I like replying in short paragraphs, with details, descriptions, and character development. I don't need to go overboard on plot, but I like there to be story objectives along the way, to give the RP a sense of purpose and directionality. I like to think of roleplaying as writing a shared story, so players who prefer to respond with one-liners or in script format probably wouldn't be the best matches for me.
As a player I'm very accommodating--my goal is to make sure that everyone involved in an RP has the best time possible. I also prefer it if there is a lot of communication between players. The best way to make sure you get the most out of playing with me is to just straight up tell me in out-of-game communication what you're looking for. For example, "I'd like your teacher character to be firmer," or "I'm getting bored with this storyline--let's skip ahead."
Availability
I live in the U.S's Eastern Time Zone, or GMT -5. I'm online here and there pretty much all day long, and often into the late evening hours, so there's no one slice of the day when I can be available. That said, I tend to post at a measured rate, in order to have time to think about what I'm posting. There may be times when I can match you post for post every 5 minutes, but on the whole I'm likely to be slower. I can post at least once a day with no problem, though.
I prefer to post on a board, but can do AIM, YIM, Skype, or one of the other common IM programs.
Characters
I tend to play OC's, because they offer more freedom to develop in various directions. I have no problem setting OC's within established fandoms, though, or having them interact with canon characters. I'm afraid I'm not familiar with tons of fandoms the way some RP'ers are, but if the universe you want to explore is reasonably straightforward and can be researched online, I'll give it a shot if the overall perameters of the RP appeal to me.
My ideal character is a spankee, but I've enjoyed playing spanker characters in the past as well. I'll cheerfully play either gender. I have a special fondness for playing children and adolescents, but playing adults is fine, too.
I have no set character type, but I like playing characters who are more good than bad. My spankees will tend to be well-meaning and generally accepting of earned discipline, and my spankers are compassionate, if sometimes stern, folk. I'm not a big fan of relentless bratting or cruel punishment.
Favorite Scenarios
I really love firm but caring disciplinary scenarios between characters of any age. The usual story arc goes: Misbehavior > Discovery > Confrontation > Punishment > Forgiveness > Aftercare. In the past, my characters have had family-type relationships with each other (including teacher/student), rather than romantic/sexual or power-exchange-based ones. I'd be willing to give one of the other types a try if you and I are otherwise well-matched as players, though.
I'm open to pretty much all spanking and discipline variations, so long as extreme cruelty isn't involved. I like to see discipline handed down with compassion rather than with harshness.
That said, I also do hurt/comforty stuff that can involve more extreme things. An example might be if you wanted your character tortured by the Inquisition and then rescued and comforted by my character. If you're interested in more extreme hurt/comfort stuff, then PM me and we'll talk about it.
Favorite Genres
My ideal genre is kind of a split between a straight-up domestic/school scenario and an action/adventure/fantasy/science fiction/etc. scenario. Examples would be young people in training to become adults with special powers, or the story of an adult hero/heroine who nonetheless needs and receives domestic discpline. I'll also happily do historical stuff with a focus on action and adventure.
Actually, the only genre that doesn't really appeal to me is one set 100% in the modern real world. My feeling is that I can grocery shop in real life. I don't need to RP it.
What I Look For In A RP Partner
Someone with interests similar to mine, who can at least tolerate someone with my slower posting volume. I like working with people who communicate a lot outside the RP, and who are flexible and accommodating. I'm not a Nazi about spelling and grammar, especially if your writing is otherwise solid, but I like to put effort into my writing and prefer to write with others who do too.
Please No
Rape. There aren't many things that I really don't want to write under any circumstances, but rape is one them. Incest is another one I'd like to avoid.
