Discipline for Mozzie :: Cleverfox

Diana walked up to Peter Burke's office and knocked on the door, "Sir, Mozzie's downstairs, I've tried to get him to go away but he just...won't." she knew that Neal being in that car crash and being comatose was hard on Peter and Mozzie, both of them were just sort of going through the motions but at least Peter was coping better than Mozzie was.

After all, Mozzie must be desperate if he's willing to hang out with some FBI agents and be in a place of law. After losing his best friend and partner, Mozzie just wasn't his same old self, he was irritable and just...different.

He'd been to see Elizabeth countless times, and today she'd asked him to spend some time with Peter because she wanted them both to cheer up some. Mozzie wasn't willing to at first, but since it was El's request, he decided to go along with it. He got to his feet when he saw Peter coming over. "Hey Suit." he said sort of awkwardly. "Mrs Suit said I should offer means of comfort..." he mumbled, eyeing where he could put his bugs.

Sort of jarred out of his thoughts Peter looked over at Diana as she came over and said that Mozzie was downstairs, that one surprising him since typically the man avoided places like this like the plague. "Alright, I'll deal with it," he said, his voice a bit strained but that was because he had been going through a lot. The fact that Neal had been hurt in that accident was really taking a toll on him but he was trying not to let it affect him too much.

He was failing but at least he was trying.

Thinking that maybe a distraction would be good Peter got to his feet and made his way downstairs to where Mozzie was hanging out, his gaze going to the man. "Mozzie what exactly is going on?" Peter asked, his voice not really harsh, he just wanted to know since this wasn't something that the man would typically do.

And that sort of concerned him if he were being honest.

Mozzie looked up at him from his position at Neal's desk, the man noticing that he looked paler than usual and more tired. He could see he was also worried about Neal. "I just told you, Mrs Suit said I should come down and we should spend time 'bonding'." he told him and sighed, looking just all in all depressed because of everything that had happened and now El was telling him to play with the FBI. Things just could not get worse.

"She said you were worried about Neal, and you needed to get your mind on other things...she said the same for me too.." he added and glanced around, picking up one of the FBI communication pens, wondering how he could use it to his advantage in getting more insight into the FBI without having to be around them.

Now that would suit him nicely.

Peter looked at Mozzie when he heard what it was that the man had to say, wondering just how much he had been bothering El for her to tell him to come here. And he was surprised that Mozzie had actually done it because usually he'd rather have a tooth pulled with a pair of pliers than come anywhere near a federal building. "Bonding huh?" Peter said, watching as Mozzie picked up the pen and reaching over to take it out of his hand.

"I don't think you need that," he said, shaking his head. "Come on, it's almost lunch time so we can go out and grab a bite to eat."

Maybe he did need to get his mind off of things but that was easier said than done. Still if El had sent Mozzie here then he was going to at least make an effort to make him feel better. If that were even possible at this point.

Mozzie pulled the pen out of Peter's reach when he tried to grab it, like a child with a toy, he wanted to hold onto it and not give it back. Mozzie could be somewhat childish at times though, it was one of the things he and Neal had in common. But that didn't change the fact he was a really smart and resourceful man. "I do need it." he answered simply and thought about Peter's offer to go out for lunch. "Fine, I will so long as you don't have any of your suited guard dogs around." he told him.

Meaning he didn't want Jones or Diana accompanying them, he felt uncomfortable around them. He only slightly trusted Peter because Neal did. Neal thought a lot of Peter though Mozzie couldn't figure out why. "And no interrogations either, I'm not answering any questions." he told him defensively, still clutching the pen to his chest.

Peter looked at Mozzie when he said that he needed the pen and clutched it to his chest, the man shaking his head slightly in response to that. "No, you do not need it," he told the man, reaching out again to pry the pen from his hand. "They aren't guard dogs Mozzie but I wasn't intending on inviting them anyway," Peter told him when he mentioned his guard dogs.

"I don't need to interrogate you for anything," Peter told him, placing a hand on Mozzie's shoulder as he said, "C'mon, let's go and get something to eat."

"I think I should know what I need." Mozzie answered unhappily though he handed the pen over like a petulant toddler. "And for the record, you can't just take things from me just because you're a suit." he told him before then loosening up a bit when Peter told him there would be no company and that they should go and get something to eat. Being paranoid was Mozzie's nature though, so he was a bit worried.

"Fine suit, but no tricks." he told him, "Or else I won't tell you where I planted the bugs."

"Wanting something isn't the same as needing something," Peter felt the need to point out to Mozzie when he commented about knowing what he needed. He set the pen aside when it was finally handed over to him, shaking his head slightly when told that he couldn't just take things from him. "I took it because it isn't yours Mozzie," he pointed out though he noticed that Mozzie relaxed a bit after he said that he wasn't inviting the others.

"I'm experienced with you Mozzie, I think I could find them," he said when the man mentioned bugs, Peter shaking his head slightly and feeling decidedly like he was babysitting in this instance.

"Ah ha!" Mozzie said suddenly when Peter told him he could find the bugs, "You didn't deny this was going to be a trick, you just said you could find the bugs! I knew this would be a trap!" he snapped accusingly at Peter and crossed his arms over his chest. "I had a feeling you'd do something like this, suit. So I planted a little something in your office, and you'll never find it, ....unless you call of this trick." he told him, narrowing his eyes.

Yes, Mozzie was extremely paranoid. He didn't want to end up in a cell or in cuffs.

Peter was completely startled when Mozzie suddenly started ranting at him about some sort of trick and he blinked a few times as the man snapped at him. "What are you talking about Mozzie? This isn't a trap, I just want to go out and have lunch," he told him, sounding tired since he was stressed and hadn't been sleeping well. He realized that Mozzie was paranoid but right now it was taking a lot of energy to deal with it.

"Can you please just calm down so we can go eat?" he asked, looking at the man.
