It's been a long time since I last had to do this but due to illness at the start of the year (which is still ongoing) I'm going to be unable to cover the hosting fees for at least the next two months. Currently AnimeOTK and its sister sites are running on a dual server setup and I'm happy to say are remarkably stable.
Back when we ran on a single server (naturally with a lower hosting bill) we were plagued by the dreaded 500 internal server error since the hardware simply couldn’t cope with the sheer volume of traffic we have.
In an average day, spread over all the sites we have around 15,000 unique visits. These generate over a million daily page views. If just 10% of the 15,000 daily users donated just $2.88 we would cover our hosting fees for the next two years. Sadly, in recent times we have received next to no donations so I have been covering the fees from my own pockets. Adverts on these sites simply do not work – the last agency I tried ended up paying out around $15 a month. In part this is due to the use of advert blocking software but also because adult adverts simply do not pay much. We can’t have normal advertising due to the adult material hosted here.
In a nutshell, we need donations to survive. It’s been almost two years since I last had to ask for help (mostly thanks to a few very generous members – you know who you are!) but if you want to be able to carry on browsing these sites we need donations to cover our costs.
