Mike and Sarah Stevens waited in the lobby of the Department of Corrections, eager to meet their newest penitatas. The Stevens' specialized in first-cycle penitatas serving long sentences, and their newest was a boy named Jonathan who was going to start a sentence of 8X5-10 for armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.

Mike was 35, with dark hair and green eyes. He was clean-shaven and kept his hair short. Sarah was 32, with light brown hair and brown eyes, and wore her hair to her shoulders.

In about half an hour of waiting, a guard came out pulling a little boy by the arm. He walked up to the Stevens and handed him over to them.

The boy could've easily been mistaken to actually be related to them; he had Mike's eyes and Sarah's hair color.

"Well aren't you cute!" Sarah exclaimed, hugging the little boy. The child wore only a paper gown, the Stevens' would be providing his clothing.

"Hello Jonathan." Mike said as he ruffled the boy's hair. "We're your new Daddy and Mommy. You weren't a very nice man, but we're going to help you with that."

"That's right." Sarah said as she let the little boy go. "We want to help you, but you have to be willing to meet us halfway. If you do then we'll try our hardest to make your sentence bearable."
