Sir Averlain and Lady Catherine (for Angel)

Catherine stopped to stamp her feet for perhaps the dozenth time since they'd left the court. "The NERVE of that Advisor, calling MY behavior unacceptable? There was a day when a Mage's opinion was RESPECTED!" Catherine wore her usual dark red traveling cloak, but beneath it was the fancy black dress she'd stolen from her quarters. It was low cut to properly display her cleavage, which was pale and impressive, and had a slit on one side that went all the way up to her left buttock. Her belt was silver and set with gem stones she used to focus her elemental powers, and a criss-crossing white bow set just beneath her breasts in typical 12th-century style.

She turned and tossed a braided main of dirty brown hair toward her companion. "The LEAST they could have done was give us a pair of horses to ride out on? We have to WALK to the next Barony?"

She sighed dramatically and sat at the edge of the village well. The village square wasn't very busy this time of the afternoon but many a tradesman, child, and busy wife milled about on errands.

Catherine was a fairly tall woman. She was proud of her cleavage, but otherwise was waif-ish with a thin, pale skinned body she tried multiple charms on to make more voluptuous in the past. Not much luck in that department since all their charms and potions had been repossessed by the castle upon their banishment.

She wrung her hands dramatically. "It was ONE Wedding, how was I supposed to know a evil fairy would curse the bride with deafness? Was I in charge of ALL their magical defenses? *sigh*"

She put her chin in her hands and pouted for a few seconds before eyeing Sir Averlain in an irritating manner. "Are you deaf sir? I said we need horses! What are you waiting for?"

Sir Averlain had learned to tune Catherine out. She was a bratty little thing, but he stayed with her. He'd known her since they were children, and cared about her deeply. Even if she needed the skin spanked off of her ass frequently. He glared at her when she started turning her ire onto him.

"Do not tack your rage onto me, my bratty mage. This is your fault, and you are the only one to blame." he scolded her.

Averlain was quite handsome. Red hair, semi long, but well kept. A tough body, VERY in shape. He was taller than Catherine.

Catherine stuck her lip out in dramatic fashion. "Don't YELL at me Averlain! I'm very upset...and tired. I don't want to sleep in this town's nasty old inn, and I don't want to ride to ANOTHER Barony."

She softened her tone, clasped her hands on which she wore four rings of warding, and pouted up at him. "But surely you can get us some horses can't you? I mean...I'm all out of money."

Their monthly stipend had already been wasted by Catherine's need for baubles and expensive food, and they had been banished mere days before their next one had been due.

Averlain had heard enough. Walking over, he took her ear between thumb and forefinger. "Catherine, you waste our money needlessly, then complain to me about it. You get us both in trouble, and then yell at me. You are a brat, and are overdue for a spanking." he said, glaring into her eyes.

"OW! owowowow! What are you doing-?" Averlain was a loyal companion and the only man Catherine considered her champion, but he was not above disciplining her when her attitude got out of control, unfortunate that she rarely knew when that was!

"Ow! ow! I'l do better, b-but you can't spank me out here, Owie! Let go!"

Averlain drug the girl over to a tree, breaking a small switch off of it. Then, it was too a bench. "Yes, out here." was all he said, as he removed her robe, blinking as he saw the dress.

"Sir Averlain, are you not supposed to protect my honor? You'd do a pretty bad job if you did this..." She paused as he removed her robe. "W-well, I thought maybe we could sell it, its looks expensive...and shiny doesn't it? heh heh?"

"Catherine, you do enough damage to your honor on your own." he said, and began tugging at the dress, to get it off too!

"Hey! hey! I'm not wearing underthings, under this thing! Stop it!" Here she tried to smack his hand away even though he still held her ear with one hand, and she did more damage to her own hand by slapping his chainmail glove then if she hadn't bothered.

By now one or two of the street merchants were taking notice a couple of well women were filling their buckets while watching closely and giggling, a mother snagged the ear of her own child and walked him away...

"Averlain, stop! I mean it...please?"

Averlain answered, by having the dress drop away. "You are in for it, m'lady." he said simply, and plopped her over his lap. He removed his glove, pinned her down, and brought his hand back.

Within an instant, a loud SLAP!! echoed throughout the square.
