The sun shone bright through the curtains of a brown haired Teenagers room, today was his first day of high school but he wasn't looking forward to it, he wasn't a social butterfly like his older brother, he was shy and timid and right now wishing he could just spend all day in bed.

Speaking of his older brother, the boy's alarm soon went off *playing the Starman theme*.

With a groan, the hand of a tired teenager reached from under his covers to turn off the alarm clock.

After a few seconds, 15 year old Mario Mario rose from under his covers and sat up in bed, yawning. "Great....now I remember why ma said to enjoy the summer while it lasted..."

He stood up and started to get ready, but then he remembered that he would be the only one boarding the high school bus this time. "Meh...Luigi'll be fine..."

Luigi's own alarm went off and with an exasperated sigh he reached out and slammed his fist on the off button. If he didn't get up on his own then his father would just come in and carry him downstairs over his shoulder...sooo embarrassing.

The 14 year old heaved himself out of bed and trudged over to the closet where he got out a pair of blue jeans and a green jacket with a white circle on it that had a green L in the center, he got dressed and grabbed his bag, heading downstairs as slowly as possible.

As Luigi was walking downstairs, Mario was already in the kitchen, putting toast in the toaster and sitting at the table half awake, yawning. He was still suffering have 'early riser's syndrome', having grown accustomed to waking up at at noon during the summer. But now...it was 6:30.

He sighed and took out his phone and started looking through it, sending messages out to his contacts, but then he noticed his little brother descend from the stairs at a slow pace. "....You might as well put something in your stomach now before the bus comes..."

"Yeah...your right" Luigi said, finally reaching the bottom of the stairs and then the kitchen where he swung open the fridge door grab himself a soda and then prepared himself some serial. "Why couldn't Summer have lasted longer?" He groaned as he flopped into his place at the table and started munching on the chocolate puffs of his bowl.

Mario then decided to put his phone away and talk to his brother now while he had the chance. "Listen Luigi...ya know how you went through 8th grade by yourself without me...well, just because we're in the same school doesn't mean I'm gonna let you cling to me, it's not good for both of us...you gotta go out there, make more friends, find the girls, pick a sport, get involved, that's how you make it in high school...alright..?"

Luigi looked up from his bowl as he listened to his brother, there was some wisdom behind his words but did this mean that he just didn't want to be seen with his brother? He shouldn't think that way! Mario had looked out for him for a while now and it was time he stood on his own two feet! "Yes, I understand and I will make the effort but..." Luigi tried to cover up his insecurity with a grin and a joke. "...don't get jealous when all the girls suddenly start hanging out with me"

Mario blinked, before laughing a bit. "Haha! Well let's not get carried away. But that's the right attitude bro." he said before blinking as he heard a *ding!* "Finally...!" he stood up and went to retrieve his toast on a plate and then went to butter it. Though he continued to speak.

"All you need is a little confidence. Ask Yosh, that's how he got Birdo..." Mario said as he soon returned to the table. "I'll tell you the first thing now...when we get on that bus, don't show any fear, that's how you become prey, high schoolers can smell fear like wild animals....and I don't try TOO hard to be cool, just act...natural..." he was going to say be yourself, but considering Luigi's current personality....well...

Luigi smiled, that had helped lighten his spirits a bit and though he still had his own issues he did take everything Mario said on board, maybe High school would be good for him? "Alright I got it, Show no fear, have confidence and act natural" Ne nodded, he then guzzled down the rest of his serial and put his bowl in the sink, he could clean it when he got home. "See you at the bus stop Mario" He chirped shooting his brother a bright smile.

"Uh huh..." Mario said simply as he still ate his toast. His brother had quite a bit to learn, but nonetheless, he had faith in him that Luigi will do...okay on his first day, but it was all dependent on how the boy in green did on his own. After all, the two were separated due to grade so even if he wanted to be around Luigi, he realistically couldn't.

Still he soon finished his toast, dropped his plate in the sink and started fully getting ready, putting on a red hooded sweater over his white t-shirt and jeans to go with the torso wear. Then his sneakers. As he took his keys and locked the door as he headed out with his bag on his back he took out his phone and began to text his current girlfriend.
