Dream Quest (For SpankerOfOmens)
Aiden sat cross-legged on his bed as the vibrant light emanating from his TV set bathed the otherwise dark room, reflecting against his deep blue eyes. The clock beside his bed displayed 1:47 AM, and he manipulated the controller in his lap deftly as he played his favorite game, Journey of the Mystical Knight. He had been at it since retiring upstairs after dinner, and he was hoping to finally beat this level. The shiny-armored knight with the blue glowy sword onscreen battled a towering armored skeleton and several human-sized ones inside what appeared to be a massive dungeon room; while a birdcage-like cell hung suspended from ceiling by a large chain. Inside it was a brightly glowing princess in a pristine white dress and golden hair. Aiden's health was getting low, and he dodged around frantically attempting to avoid any further damage. With the use of a few fireball spells and a healing potion, he was able to survive and clear out the smaller skeletons. But once he got the big skeleton down to half health, a timer appeared as the princess' cage began rising up, the chain being cranked to lift it out of the dungeon. Try as he did, he just couldn't manage to defeat the skeleton until the princess was taken away; either he'd run out of time or his trying to rush it would lead to him getting killed. Before he knew it, his clock showed the time 2:34 AM and he realized it was time to get some sleep. The thirteen-year old had already dressed for bed in a simple grey t-shirt and tight fitting blue linen pants. Aiden sighed, and turned off the game system and TV. The blonde boy lifted his covers and slipped inside, resting his head against the pillow and closing his eyes. Soon enough, Aideen fell into a deep slumber...
...meanwhile, in his dreams he was literally falling. Or flying. But he had no control over where he was going. He was soaring through the endless, black expanse of space, as countless stars glistened around him and shimmering nebulas loomed in the distance like fluorescent clouds. Despite him apparently being in the vacuum of space he had no trouble breathing and his flight seemed to be a gentle one as what felt like a cool night breeze rippled past him.
Aiden was still not fully "awake" as he was still waking into this world after falling asleep in the last one. But he noticed he was flying towards a great, green planet covered in vast clouds. He fell towards it gradually, safely entering it's atmosphere and falling through the sky, passing through a barrier of clouds and seeing a vast land before him. There were great green fields over which proud castles stood, sprawling forests with giant trees, a desert over which loomed pyramids, great icy tundras and soaring mountains.
His slow descent brought him into a small glade in the middle of a forest. Aiden touched down on the grass and looked around. There was a statue of what appeared to be a goddess or queen, and a gentle river flowing through the woods now far from him. The statue, which appeared to be life-size, loomed over him with his mere 5'0.
The boy decided to look around and figure out where he was.

"Stop right there!" a mighty voice bellowed. Two humongous men, both easily seven feet tall, we're advancing toward the young boy. They were dressed head to toe in silver armor that gleamed in the sun, and carried large swords the size of Aiden himself! "Trespasser!" One of the men shouted, pointing his large sword at the boy. "State your business!"

Aiden jumped when he heard a strong, deep voice blast at him from nearby. He turned around and gasped to see two heavily armored, shining knights closing in on him. They must've been giants, as they were bigger then most average men. And he winced at the swords that could cleave him in two with a single strike.
"Wait!" the boy stammered. "I-I'm not even supposed to be here! I fell from up above, and I don't even know where I am! I can't trespass if I'm lost, right???"
He held his hands up in a gesture of surrender but wondered if running away was a better idea. Maybe they would be slowed with their heavy armor.

"Fell from the sky? Preposterous! Seize him!" The other guard lunged out surprisingly quick and grabbed the boy by his shirt, lifting him up. "We should take him to Her Majesty. She'll know what to do with him." The guards nodded and walked to the statue, bowing before it. "My Queen! Your audience is required!"
