I'm trying to come up with a palate of realistic shades of redness for non caucasian spankee, and have no first hand experiences or samples, I'm looking for input.

Well what color skin does the spankee have? I think if you want a realistic shade of red using a program like photoshop, you can choose a really true cherry red, turn down the opacity of your brush to say, 15-30% and use it to color the bottom, doing it multiple shades till you find a good one. I suggest using a bigger brush to make it look a bit smoother. I don't know if that helped, but from what you were asking I thought that might help.

I always use bright red color, set the opacity to 10% and use a large bush with diffuse edges.
After that I make a new layer and brush over the areas that need a red glow (bottom and face) as many times as I need to make the red-glow look good.
Because of the 10% opacity the red color builds up bit by bit and you are able to get a very realistic looking redness in exactly the shade you want.

That's a good way to draw a red bottom in Photoshop CS or similiar programs. I don't know the best way to do it in other programs or by hand though.

Best thing is to try different shades out and look which one looks best or the most fitting for your needs.

Typically, you can Burn in mid-tones at 30 percent to create a harsh reddening effect on the bottom that looks agitated and well-spanked.
