Viktor run his eyes over the prone form on the bed; waiting for his new childe to wake from the post-embrace slumber that tended to overtake fledglings as their bodies finished changing from human to vampire. A slumber that had been in the blond vampire’s favor as it allowed him time to get Rafe out of the wreck that had been the clans’ meeting point and back to his home.

The elder vampire smirked slightly as he thought back of the on past night; he could have never imagined that a tentatively agreed upon meeting with the Ciardha Clan would have ended with him becoming sire again; and to Cillian’s prized servant at that.

He was sure that the other vampire was going to be enraged when he found out what had happened. It was really his own fault; letting Rafe get injured so severely when the fight broke out and neglecting to take the mortal with him when he fled.

Still, he wasn’t sure how his childe was going to react when he woke – he had been slipping in and out of consciousness when Viktor asked him if he wanted to live; and while he had feed readily enough the blond was knew that there was a large chance that he wasn’t aware of what really happened – or that it had been a member of the Amsel clan that saved him.

The fight had been something that he had been warned to be ready for and yet still Rafe hadn't expected what had transpired. Now everything in his world had changed and he was as of yet unaware of this fact. He was starting to come to however and he was feeling very disoriented, his eyes opening before closing again as he raised a hand to shield his now sensitive eyes from even the dulled light in the room.

"What the holy hell just happened?" he grumbled in a groggy voice.

He was expecting a familiar voice, expecting someone to tell him what exactly was going on, but that wasn't what he got. Blinking a few times and then forcing his eyes open Rafe briefly looked around before pushing himself to a sitting position. The young man's mahogany hair falling over one of his eyes, Rafe reaching up to push away the reddish-brown locks.

It took him a moment to get over the disorientation and then his eyes focused on Viktor, just holding there for a moment before narrowing as he got clumsily to his feet. "What the fuck?" he demanded, his voice raising.

“Relax, childe, no one will harm you here.” Viktor said, in a calming tone as he remained seated. Normally, the elder was quite opposed to being yelled at, but in light of the situation he decided to let that go. Leaning forward he rested his chin on his steepled hands as he let his steel gray eyes lock on Rafe’s.

“How are you feeling?” He asked neutrally, pushing slightly on their newly shared bond to see if he could verify his childe’s health – although logically he knew the injury had healed already, but instincts siring created in him near demanded that he make sure the fledgling was whole. That and he wanted to see if the redhead could sense the bond yet.

Rafe scowled when he was told to relax and that no one would harm him. "Oh yea, let's see you wake up with the enemy and see how relaxed you are," he said, speaking with sarcasm evident as well as with a faint Irish accent though it wasn't as pronounced as many of the others since he'd been born in the United States rather than Ireland though he did still consider himself Irish.

When he was asked how he was feeling and found himself the target of that steely eyed gaze something in his brain clicked and he shook his head.

"Oh hell no...no...this is not okay," Rafe said, shaking his head vehemently and completely ignoring the question that he had been asked. Now the whole 'childe' thing made sense to him but he was not okay with the situation in the slightest. "Yea, I gotta go," he said as he turned toward the room's door, a steely look appearing in his gray-blue eyes. "So not hanging around for this bullshit."

Normally he wasn't quite this vulgar but the situation seemed to warrant the profanity.

“And where, exactly, do you plan to go?” Viktor asked, one near white eyebrow arched as he watched Rafe head to the door, “I assure you that Cillian won’t want you back now, and no matter where you go this bond isn’t going to disappear.”

He stood, slowly approaching his childe, “Sit down, childe.”

Rafe whirled around, his eyes practically flashing when told that he would not be welcome back now. "You're wrong about that," he said, his voice all but a growl as he glared at the vampire. That was something that he was not going to believe, he refused to even entertain the idea that Cillian would hold this against him.

It was not as though he had asked for this.

"Bite me," he said in a scathing voice when he was told to sit down, using a term that Cillian himself had always despised but that he felt fit the current situation rather accurately. "And if you ask me where the answer's gonna be my ass."

Viktor growled quietly as he darted forward to grab Rafe’s arm and force the young vampire to sit. “I am being very patient with you, Rafe, but I warn you that my patience is not limitless.” He said, his voice growing hard.

Disrespect was not something the elder vampire had ever tolerated before and he wasn’t going to allow his youngest to develop any bad habits. Still, he knew this had to be hard and took a deep breath to calm himself, “I am not wrong; Cillian’s irrational hatred of us is strong – regardless of how much to blame he is for this situation, he won’t take you back.”

Rafe was caught completely off guard when his arm was grabbed and he was forced to sit back down on the bed where he had been laying before. His eyes again narrowed when he was warned that the man's patience wasn't limitless.

He opened his mouth to say something in retort but he stopped when Viktor told him again that Cillian was not going to take him back. "I'm his favorite, he will let me come home," Rafe said, in complete denial over the fact that the man, his family even if it he was just a descendant of the ancient vampire, would shun him now. "I didn't ask for this, it is not my fault!" he all but snapped at the end of his little rant.

“Would you have preferred to die?” Viktor asked, crossing his arms, “Because that is not what you told me a few hours ago, after Cillian and his lackeys left you to die. I certainly didn’t force you to take my blood.”

Rafe's expressive eyes went through a myriad of emotions when he heard those words from the man, someone he was always taught to look upon as an enemy. He knew that the last statement was true at least, that transformation could not be forced. "Fuck me..." he groaned as he leaned forward and rested his head in his hands. "Clearly I wasn't in my right mind...but no, I didn't want to die obviously."
