The Wolf Cub

It was a full moon one night and a young man was walking through the woods alone. He stepped over past a tree and in the blink of an eyes shifted into a wolf. He sniffed the air and looked around seeming to be searching for something. He pressed his paw against a tree and it started to glow as a magical orb popped out below. He shifted back to human and grabbed it his eyes glowing green.

On the other side of town a young boy walked down a dark alley and he was surrounded by a bunch of thugs who pulled out weapons such as knife and blades.

"hey getta load of this little freak..." one of the men said

The boy whimpered as he tried to run the other way only to be blocked by two other men "p...please dont hurt"

The men started to get really close as of of them grabbed him unsheathing the knife as he did so "lets killem boys!!" one of them screeched

A girl with deep black hair popped her head out of a bush. Her eyes green eyes sparkled in the moon as she watched what happened to him. There was a small gasp though when she saw him change back and a rustling of leafs as she began to try to run off. she looked to only six or so in age.


A rather loud howl was heard as a large wolf came walking over growling. The wolf looked like it had already been in enough fights but only in the past and seeing proof it looked to be the one that always won. It soon though came rushing at the man holding the child showing it's teeth and clamping down on the mans arm.

The man followed the girl remaining in human form he stopped her standing in front of her naking it so she couldnt escape "hello young lady. Im not gonna hurt you. where are your parents?" he asked looking at her. He then stuck out his hand "my names Mac" he said a he waited for her to shake his hand.

The man screamed as his arms was bitten down on. The other men quickly ran away but the man with is arm in her maw whimpered and struggled "ahhh... please lemme go!!!" he whimpered trying to pull his arm away. Soon he got free and ran away as well.

THe little boy shook in fear as the wolf looked at him "P...pwease dun eats me...!" he whimpered as he looked at her his knees feeling ab it wobbly as he watched the fiarly large wolf

the girls eyes darted around looking for him before she ran into his legs full force. "M-Mmm... Y-Your a Wolf person... I... I...." She look at his hand gently taking her much smaller hand. "Don't go none..." She said looking up at his face. IF some he got a good look at her eyes he would notice her pupils where white and her hair that looked black was really just a very ash gray color. She looked scared out of her mind and it looks like this wasn't the first thing that she's ran into due to the large amounts of old healed scars on her arms and one cutting though her right brow.

The wolf quickly changed into a Woman her eyes darted down to him as she looked at him. "Kid you okay?" She asked her accent seemed thick for a woman of that area but it was obvious from the battle scars that carried over to her human form that she probably wasn't from here. "I... I won't eat you people are the last thing id ever eat... But did they hurt you?" Her chocolate brown eye traced his body for any sign of harm before meeting his.

The man smiled sweetly "Well if you want you could come home with me...?" he asked looking at her. "Im just ready to get dinner started. im having beef stew with noodles if youd like to join me?" he said looking at her. He then took her hand in his and started to walk with her until they got to a small cabin in the woods. He opened the door with his key and the smell of a home cooked measl filled the air.

The boy nodded a bit "a..are you a w..werewolf?" he asked looking at her tilting his head a bit "Ive never seen one before..." he said looking pretty amazed as he just looked at her in awe. He then looked really sad "i..I think my mommy was a werewolf... but she died many years ago" he said looking down "I was born human and she gave me ths necklace before she died. He then held up a necklack with a wolfing howling at the moon on it that looked very familiar to the shewolf

The girl looked back at the forest feeling the cold autum chill. It sent a shiver down her spin. but it was to late for her to decide because she quickly found her self in he house. "M...Mmmm...." She looked upset but the feeling of food being just around the corner made her stomach growl.

"I am...." Her eyes lit up as she got a good look at the necklace. "Oh... That was a calling card for many of the alpha females..." She said putting her hand on it. "It Looks similar to my big sis's though... But she left town many many years ago..." She said rubbing her head up against the boy's face. "But don't worry. I'll Look into it more later let's get you full of food and warm it's to late for a little one like you to be outside." The girl quickly picked him up and dashed him to a old style apartment complex over a flower shop. "I live here And hold on I've got some chowder on the stove. I'll get you some." She said placing the boy down on the ground and rushing into the small kitchen.

Mac looked at the smalll girl as he stepped out of the kitchen holding her a bowl of stew and noodles. "So what brings you to my neck of the woods??" he asked looking at her curiously. He had wondering what a young little girl was doing alone in the woods all by herself.

The boy followed her "i..is my mwommy still alive?" he asked tilting his head a bit "Can i meets her??" he asked hopping up and down

The girls stomach let out a loud rumble before she began to chow down on the food with out much hesitation "Lost.... Cold..." She said with sigh of content when she cleaned her bowl and began to feel warm.

The wolf began girls tail and ears twitched on her human body. "Ruubi Isn't for seeing visitors... She'll roll in when she rolls in but don't worry I'll try to atleast give contact to her later." she said giving a small wag to her tail as she placed the bowl down on the table for him. "My names Shika~ I can watch over you for as long as you want... with that cold front pulling in you don't have a winter coat to keep warm for the snow." She began quickly chowing down on her soup. "If it helps I can contact My elder friend... He's A male if you would prefer that...."

Mac then looked at her scooping her up in his arms as she finished her stew "poor sweetie.." he said "WEll you can stay here as long as you want" he said with a smile as he hugged her to his chest. He always wanted a little girl of his own and he thought this wasa great opportunity to have one.

The boy shook his head no "I likes you better.." he said with a smile as he took her hand. He then squuezed lightly although it wasnt that strong because he was only 6 "s..so does that mean youll be my mwommy...?" he asked tilting his head a bit curiously "I..Ive never hads a mwommy bwefore" he said looking down at the ground tears welling up in his eyes as he thought about his hard past "I..I never has anyones..." he whimpered as he started to rub his eyes as tears streamed down his face

The girl quickly began to go red in the face before nuzzling into Mac's chest. "Warm..." She was freezing cold but being next to his chest made her feel warmer quickly. "Otay..." She gave a small half lidded smile before quickly looking down at the ground some. She was wondering how she was even going to respond if she was asked what her name was. She didn't even think she had one because she had lived among running in and out of childrens homes.


Shika's tail quickly began to wag. "Yes you can~" She said nuzzling the boy giving him a small peck on the forehead. "You Must be freezing Let's get a fire nice and hot for you!" She said quickly carrying him over to the fire place holding him close as she got a fire started and put the guard infront of the fire. "There That should help you keep warm." She began to speak softly. "Are you tired? Or do you want to stay up a bit? Our tv is kinda basic here but it gets some cable stations for kids"
