Sidekick Obedience Training (for Wizard9876)

Alexandra Peterson, who often went by Alex with her close friends, and Ice Girl (Ice Menace to a few) to the general public, could freeze liquid in the air and create ice even on a warm day, sometimes even very large amounts of ice when the conditions were right. She was descended from a supernatural (possibly divine) being and don't think that she didn't let that go to her head now and then! She was just as proud of her heritage as she was of her powers.

Still, some of her attempts at superherodom ended up creating more problems than she had solved. A few weeks ago she had accidentally shut down a busy international airport for almost a full day when she tried to help put out a small vehicle fire that the airport firemen could have put out without dropping several tons of ice on the runway.

Indeed, some thought that perhaps she could be a great asset to this city, but sometimes her solutions to problems (usually lots of ice) created problems that were just as great as the problems they were trying to solve! A few people had almost died from large falling blocks of ice! And so, they decided that Alex needed to stop all of her attempts at being a superhero at once, and she was told through the media that she needed to become a sidekick to a more veteran superhero, or quit entirely.

As Ice Girl, Alexandra usually worse a skin tight white suit with blue patches around her pelvis, bottom, and chest area. She was not an unattractive woman, she had red hair (which she usually kept tied up in a pony tail when she was Ice Girl and down to her shoulders when she was Alex), and she wore a blue mask and goggles. Her white boots were specially designed to keep her balance even when sliding on ice.

She had only recently begun to be the sidekick for a true superhero, but she sometimes felt that the older super heroine slowed her down a little bit. She had warned Alex that there might be consequences if she didn't start following her lead, but Alex mostly shrugged off her warnings, she didn't really believe the veteran super heroine would. They had just received word that a bank robbery was happening just a few blocks from their location, and Ice Girl executed one of her favorite moves. She created a huge pile of ice and then created a path of ice under her that her boots allowed her to fly down the street, in some cases even creating ways over cars for her to get to the bank faster, leaving her "master" behind and creating havoc for anyone who was trying to get down the street without having to deal with tons of ice, but she was a girl on a mission!

Natalia Rangers, or now most commonly known as TechNano, was a hero whose abilities were discovered by accident. Many have heard stories of heroes who have found their abilities through lab experiments but none have had the experience of gaining their abilities from simply drinking water. Well none except for Natalia herself. Once she had drank the water that was created in a lab testing what it would be like to combine the brain of a human, with the power of technology, she had gained the ability to spawn nanobots that could do whatever she pleased. Her imagination was just about the only limit of this ability.

This power of hers became used for good and she soon found herself becoming a hero for the masses, quickly raising up to the status of those who were physically superior than her but her abilities made her stand a chance against them in any scenario. Over the years she became a veteran super heroine and had finally been able to take on an apprentice, or sidekick who could help her on her endeavor and who she could mold into their own hero.

She had been gotten word of a young upstart who was causing a slew of troubles around the city even though she was trying to do exactly the opposite. Now Natalia had heard of starting super heroes having a rough start but she never imagined anyone could create a whole new problem just by fixing a lesser one. It would take a lot to teach this new heroine but she had been asked by the city itself to take on the girl as a sidekick.

It had been about three weeks or so that she had taken the girl under her wing and everyday had been a new adventure, though it wasn’t as bad as she thought it would be. Ice Girl had trouble following orders or thinking before acting so they were still in that phase of getting her used to it. When they had gotten the call for the bank robbery, TechNano had started to tell the younger woman not to go off on her own but she had been too late which allowed her sidekick to make a mess of things. She had let out an irritated sigh before going after the girl, using the nanobots to eat away at the ice while she made a bridge of nanobots to send her toward the girl. Thankfully the small robots were able to scatter after use so there was no concern that they’d get in the way. She had thought warning the red head would’ve been enough but clearly it wasn’t. The 32 year old eventually caught up to the younger of the two and pushed up her glasses as they stood before the bank.

Ice Girl was almost annoyed that the TechNano, or "Mrs. Perfect" as she sometimes sarcastically referred to her behind her back, had caught up to her so quickly before she'd even made her way into the bank, but she did look back and realize that TechNano was cleaning up the messes that tended to get people so upset at her (though Alexandra certainly thought that some people exaggerated the amount of problems her ice was causing), so she couldn't complain too much, but the thought crossed her mind that even if TechNano was more than 10 years older than she was, perhaps Technano ought to be her sidekick and just clean up while she does awesome stuff.

Ice Girl smiled as most of her jawline was still visible beneath her jagged blue mask that covered most of her upper face. "It's about time you caught up," she said. "We can't let these bank robbers get away. I think I can freeze all of their hands and feet if I can just bust through the fast door fast enough. You... do whatever it is you do around here." Ice Girl then turned toward the bank to prepare to do what she had planned to do.

The heroine rolled her eyes as the explained what she intended to do. Before she could make a move TechNano pointed to the door of the bank and sent her nanos to destroy it safely. The door was attacked by small laser beams until it fell down and they were let inside where the bank robbers were busy gathering hostages as well as collecting money.

“What I do around here is keep a certain brat from making a mess of this city, seriously how on earth can you go around trying to do heroic things when you still hardly can control all the collateral damage you cause?” she demanded but wasn’t exactly looking for an answer. She let out a huff before starting to make her way to the vault, ensnaring any who tried to stop her in a web of nanos. “You save the hostages, without being stupid, and I’ll go stop the guys in the vault.”

"But..." Ice Girl was about to argue. Rescuing hostages was nice, but she also wanted to be the one to take down the bad guys. She felt like she had more offensive capabilities. But in order to continue her work as a superhero, Ice Girl had agreed to become the sidekick of TechNano, and so she muttered but followed her lead... at least at first.

Ice Girl walked into the bank, though walking in certainly had less pizzazz than her usual ice road entrances, and she saw the hostages and she began using her powers to create ice walls around them, making sure that the walls would be thick enough to stop most types of bullets, and when all the hostages toward the front were mostly encased in ice boxes (well, not fully ice boxes, they could still climb out the top... if they didn't slip too much.)

This room had a lot of moisture in the air, probably due to everyone sweating so much, so Ice Girl finished the process of creating ice walls even faster than usual. As she finished it occurred to her that maybe TechNano had really meant that she should escort all of the hostages outside the bank with maybe just a few ice shields to protect just in case, but that was little different than just regular police work, and this would certainly work well enough for now! She doubted it would take more than 5 hours for the ice to melt enough for the people to climb out as long as they turned off the air conditioning in this building.

When it looked like everyone was secured, Ice Girl put an ice path down the center of the hallway between her and the vault and she slid down it at full speed to help TechNano take out the last of the bad guys. She couldn't let her take all the glory!
