Anya groaned as she moved through the forest, a pair of canteens hanging around her neck as she slung one bag of fruits she collected over her shoulder. It would be a long ride back to the castle and she wanted to get a good start before nightfall. She had debated rather or not to camp there but decided that it would not be wise to leave her horse unattended for an large amount of time.

Karin made her way down the path, with her hood going over her forehead to keep her face hidden from overlookers. She needed food and she needed it fast. With a huff, she pushed on as one hand went to her stomach to rub it. But, she stopped in her tracks when she found a horse, reins tied to a tree. A grin crossed her face, as she approached the animal with happiness; horses, while horses were animals to ride, they can be rather nutritious to eat.

So, she bent down and took out a dagger, moving it up and down to slice the reins off.

Anya saw this and was filled with rage. easily rushing forward and disarming the girl.

"What do you think you are doing? she demanded."

It was easy to see that this was just a child and probably a peasant by the clothing.

"Do you not know what stealing a warhorse would get you should this go in front of the courts?" she growled, grabbing the girl's arm to keep her from getting away, though she had no intent on taking the girl in front of a jury, besides that if she had a child executed the queen would probably throw her in prison if not worse, though no one probably knew that of the monarch. But besides that, there were better ways to deal with children.

Karin heard the sounds of feet crunching against the leaves, so she lifted her head to check.
Once her dagger was slipped out of her grip, she froze and looked straight up and made a move of retreat. However, she found herself caught by a much older woman, exclaiming a "Hey!" where she attempted to pull back.

But due to her jerk with the head, her hood slid off. It revealed a young lady, looking around fifteen, where she had long brunette hair.

"Oh, no! You're not taking me to court! I'll leave you and your animal again and never come back if you release my arm this instant!"

"No I will not take you to court, you're but a child. However, I do demand justice for attempted theft. Where are your parents?" she asked, deciding to leave it with them if they were living, if not she would find a way to deal with it herself, after all, she would not be questioned.

Karin gave a scoff and looked away from her. "I'm not a child, I'm fifteen, there's a big difference." she remarked. "As for my parents,... I don't know where they are. They dumped me in a Catholic orphanage when I was a baby, but I escaped and do what I can do to survive."

She gave a jerk with her arm. "Now, can you let me go?"

"fifteen is still a child girl." Anya growled before adding "No, I will not. Now I will give you this one choice, either come with me as my second....my apprentice or I can easily take you back to the orphanage and allow them to deal with this in front of me, and I know they can be quite cruel with punishment so I would rather avoid that."

The teen glared back up at the adult, getting the clue that she couldn't get away no matter what. Listening to her, she thought about the two separate choices; either the stranger taking Karin under her wing, or she could get a large dose of switching from those nuns. "You wouldn't dare bring me back! I'm not going back to those birching bitches!" she said, maintaining her glare at the older adult.

Then she sighed deeply. "Fine then, I'll come with you, but you do know that as soon as you do, I'll be out of your sight?"

You were keen on stealing my stallion and only a coward or common thief would refuse to pay the price, especially one so light as this. you are lucky I do not remove my sword belt and strap you for thievery myself " Anya responded, voice firm as she released the girl.

she would not actaully cause harm to the girl, though fear tactics would work just as well and hopefully prevent the girl from giving her too much of a headache

"You will NOT spank me." Karin stated firmly. While she was on her own, she learned a few techniques of hiding oneself from others. One hand reached into her pocket to grab a small wrapped paper container, and thrown it into the ground. This would create a cloud of dust that would distract the other.

Without waiting, the young thief ran off, going quite fast.
