Garnet was the most cool-headed gem anyone knew. It took a lot to get under her skin, but a certain new member sure loved to test her patience. Peridot was, in a word, annoying. In more ways than one. She acted like a small child, even more so than Steven. The gem had read up on things she could do to keep the green member in line, and found a rather interesting punishment she would have to try next time Peridot did something.

Peridot was still adjusting to her new life on Earth. She didn't like it, but also didn't hate it here. It's just... so different from everything she was used to. And everything on Earth was just... useless. Most things here didn't have a purpose at all. Like this weird colourful things which grew everywhere. Steven called them "Flowers" and "Pretty".
But the most annoying thing about Earth was... their technology was totally archaic! She was a Peridot. A PERIDOT!! A Homeworld technician. And this stupid Pearl thought she was a better engineer than her.
The green gem growled at nothing in particular and continued to tinker on some things she found in the barn. Oh, she would show them later what she was capable of. All of them.

Tow hours later she was finished with... well, whatever it was. She called it 'ray amplifying equipment'. "Nyehehe, that will show them!" Especially Steven would be impressed and Pearl would be sooo jealous.

So when the whole CG-Team arrived, she did show them her new invention. The only problem was, it ended literally with a bang. It exploded loudly with little pieces flying everywhere. Luckily Steven was able to stay save in his pink bubble.
Peridot just stared blankly at the still burning machine, her blonde hair being messed up.
"I think I made a little miscalculation..."

"A...LITTLE Miscalculation!? What even were you THINKING!? I knew we should have hired a sitter or something, you-" Pearl was cut off by Garnet, who had stayed poker-faced the entire time. "Peridot, I need to talk to you. Inside." She led the green gem in the barn, shutting and locking the doors behind them.

Peridot was still standing in the same spot, holding in one hand the now useless remote, the other went to her hair so straighten it a little. At least it wasn't singed. She took a deep breath, tried to get rid of the embarrassing feeling of screwing this up and kicked the still smoking and burning machine.
"ARGH!", she yelled.
And then there was Pearl's nagging voice. A Pearl, scolding her! She was close to becoming really mad.
She wanted Pearl to shut up but Garnet was faster. The fusion had an unreadable expression and Peridot wasn't sure what to think or to expect. With an angry growl she followed the taller Gem into the barn and was surprised when she closed the doors.
"What... are you doing?" She hissed in a weird mix of being angry, annoyed and cautiousness.

While they went deeper into the barn and the fusion had closed the door, Garnet was going through a plan of action. There was little to no chance Peridot would go down without a fight if she reveal outright what she was planning, so she had to be more clever....

She walked passed the gem and sat down on a hay bale before motioning Peridot to stand in front of her.

Peridot was still angry at everything, the Earth, the Crystal Gems, even Yellow Diamond. She wasn't even sure why she followed Garnet, probably to avoid more nagging. She watched Garnet sitting down and followed her to stand in front of her.
"What now? Are you going to poof me back to my gem for... how did the Pearl put it? For not thinking?"
She kicked a little stone that was lying on the floor and crossed her arms in front of her chest, giving the tall fusion a challenging glare.

"No, I had something else in mind. Something that would work better for such childish behavior." Without further warning Garnet simply picked Peridot up and put her over the fusion's lap, before pulling down the green one's bottoms to reveal, well, a light green bottom.

When Garnet picked her up, Peridot struggled like a cat that was about to get bathed. She kicked her little feet, trying to hit the taller gem but it was useless.
"What are you doing???" She felt her backside getting bared. "You clod! I demand you to let me go this instant!"
She hissed a bit and struggled even more.

"I think you will find name-calling isn't very smart when you're being punished." Garnet simply stated before starting, her hand coming down hard and fast on the small gem's backside, soon turning it a rosie pink in a short span of time.

For the interval of maybe three slaps Peridot was too shocked to react. Only a small "Eep?!" escaped her suddenly dry mouth.
But as soon as she actually started to feel the stinging pain in her backside she was back to fully insult the fusion.
"No, let me go!" She tried to fight the taller gem with all her power. Which wasn't much. "You can't do that!" But everything she tried to do was in vain. Peridot yelped after a particular hard smack. "Ouch! Stop!"
