Welcome to a world that is similar to our own. A world where Humans do not exist, and instead, is a world of Anthropomorphic Animals. But none are as dominating a force as the Dogs. The Canis Empire has taken control of 60% of the world and most animals live under their domain, through years of battle and conquest.

Look, this is just Medieval Furries, that just so happen to put Dogs on top. You could think of this as similar to Thunder Cats, but maybe a little more twisted.

Technology/Magic

The Technology levels of the this world is meant to be somewhere around Medieval-ish. There are orders of Knights who walk the lands to protect the weak and defenseless. Blacksmiths working in forges. Alchemist in their labs.

Alchemist? Yes, because magic is a thing. Magic is very much real. Like I said, there are alchemists who study the science of magic and work in their laboratories conjuring potions. There are schools of magic where one can be a Court Magician. And there are forbidden taboos like Necromancy. Don't be a bad dog.

Government/Religion

It's a Monarchy, with a King and Queen ruling the land. The Royal Family and Noble Family are all Pure Breeds-I know that pure breds in the real world is kind of bad due to health reasons, this is a fantasy world. Also, no incest because squick.

Moving right along, the Religion is up in the air. There is a main religion that all, or at least, most dogs follow: The Church of Man. Humans in this world, now long since dead and extinct, are heralded as Gods. I'm only giving you a vague idea because, well, this can be interpreted into a number of things: a melting pot of all religions, basic dog training, worshiping people like 'Steve' or 'Keith' who happened to have and take care of dogs-whatever.

Relationship of Canines

Dogs: Basic Dog Breeds, average population. Any Dog Breed, basically. Makes up the majority and are seen as more sophisticated.

Wolves/Coyotes/Jackals/Wild Dogs: Less Common. Larger than most Dogs. Small Colonies that are under the Canis Empire. Are often admired more for their natural strength.

Foxes: Rare. Have a bad reputation across the Kingdom, but this prejudice is starting to change. More inclined to more underhanded jobs like Rogue or Bounty Hunters.

Other Species

Horses: Slave-Race, one of the first kingdoms to be conquered by the Canis Empire. Still anthropomorphic, but basically used the same way horses today are used. (What? No, they don't have horns or wings. What the hell is an Alicorn?)

Simians: Monkeys, Apes, Chimps, and so on. Seen as Barbarians. The Church sees them as corrupted barbarians of Man, abominations. Others just sees them as the Nomadic Savages they are. (Think like the Orcs+Goblins in Lord of the Rings.)

Bovine: Slave-Race, another kingdom that was conquered. Bulls are used for hard and heavy labor. Cows are bred and used for their milk. (No, they're not used for their meat, you sicko.) Originally enslaved by the Cats before their own conquering.

Cats: Slave-Race. Once the greatest enemy to Dog-Kind, now subjugated to slavery. Many of their advancements in magic and sorcery have been adopted by the Dogs. They were a Magocracy of powerful Witches and Wizards that tried to use their magic to take over the world.

Mice: Free. Originally a Slave Race to the Cats and played a major role to the fall of their empire. The Mice are more than welcoming to their Canine saviors. (I think the mice are best described as being similar to Hobbits, if they were enslaved by Gandalf.)

Rabbits: Free. A kingdom of meek creatures who formed an alliance with the Dogs. The Rabbits brought with them agriculture and literature.

Bear: Rival Kingdom up in the colder north. A kingdom of warriors, as Bears are one of the larger races. Big, strong, Viking-Analog.

Bats: Rival Kingdom, essentially vampires. They don't burn up in the sun, but they're still nocturnal and try to avoid the sun. Kingdom is made up on Western Islands. Necromancy and Blood Drinking is practiced and encouraged.

Lizards/Crocodiles/Snakes: Rival Kingdom occupying the deserts in the southern lands. The new enemies that replaced the cats, this kingdom of reptiles are viscous enemies to Dog Kind.
