Listen to the Angels (for Nene)

Dean Winchester laid on one of the motel beds, bored out of his mind. He and his brother hadn't had a hunt for a while and he hadn't really been in the best of shape as of late. "Hey Sammy, did you find anything remotely like a case? I might die of boredom if I don't get to killing some sons of bitches." The older Winchester asked, sitting up slightly.

For the last hour and a half, Sam had been sitting at the small table in the motel room, looking through several news sources to at least find them something that looked at least a little bit like it could be a case. Lifting his head off his palm when he heard Dean speak up, Sam raised an eyebrow at his big brother, "Not yet, Dean," he answered simply, "Dude, I thought you were going to sleep." Sam was concerned about the shape his brother was in right now. Dean just looked so exhausted, and Sam was aware that Dean hadn't gotten their typical four hours of sleep last night.

Dean sighed softly before laying back again. He was tired, but he wanted to hunt! As longbas he had a feeling something would happen, he didn't want to sleep. "Yeah I know. I'll go to sleep now if it makes you feel any better. But wake me up if you find anything, okay Sammy?" Dean asked before closing his eyes and slowly going to sleep.

Sam drew in a deep breath, letting it out slowly in a light sigh, "Yeah, alright, Dean," he was relieved that his brother was at least going to try to get some shut eye, for now, and Sam was going to keep searching; he was going to check those news websites one more time before giving up for a few hours.

It had been pretty quiet lately, with no omens, freaky weather nor strange series of deaths in over a week. It was almost too quiet... There had to be something. Just as Dean was dozing off, his cellphone rang in his pocket, and Sam hung his head, shaking it gently. Crap. Dean wasn't going to get any sleep if that phone call was about a case.

Dean had manafed to fall asleep. The only reason he got any sleep at the moment was he didn't want Sam to worry too much about him. That and he didn't want to hear a lecture from his little brother.

Sam looked over when he saw that the phone call didn't seem to be rousing Dean at all. Getting to his feet, Sam crossed the room, picking up Dean's cellphone off of the small table beside the bed, taking it into the other room and answering it. A young lady named Ash was on the other line, and what she had to say definitely piqued Sam's interest. Dean would want to know this, for sure. It sounded like their kind of thing, definitely a case, six hundred miles away in Omaha, Nebraska. Hanging up the phone, Sam returned to the same room he'd left Dean in, and he took a seat in front of his computer again, waiting for Dean to wake on his own before telling him about the case.

It didn't really take that long for Dean to wake up. About an hour maybe. When he did, he sat up and stretched. He didn't hear his phone ring at all but he didn't get much sleep either and he didn't know why. "Hey Sammy? Anything happen while I was asleep?" He asked with a small yawn after.

Looking up from his computer again, this time Sam had more to offer, "Yeah, Dean, some girl named Ash called, from Omaha," he started to explain, looking over his brother. That hour hadn't been good to Dean. "Said people have been disappearing, and some of them turned up dead and half eaten, big teeth marks. Sounds like our kinda thing, doesn't it?"

"Yeah it does."Dean said. The girl sounded familiar but he couldn't remember where he met her. He slowly got up before rubbing his eyes. That hour felt like a few minutes to Dean. In other words, he was still extremely tired.
"Hey Sammy, could you drive? I'm still pretty tired."

[Nene]

Sam already had the keys to the Impala in his pocket, and he took them out, dangling them to show Dean, "Yeah, way ahead of you, Dean. It's a long drive, plenty of time to sleep on the way there." As it stood right now, Dean couldn't fight any people-eating monsters, and if he stood any chance against it, he would have to sleep on the way there.
