Ashley Fires had had enough. The 24 year old pop star, one of the biggest names worldwide looked out as her hometown airport approached at the distance. Ten miles from there, in her mansion, her son Danny was probably playing.

She had Danny when Ashley was quite young-18, in fact. The next few years had been tough on her. Non stop touring, multiple album sales, paparazzi, high profile doomed relationships and being constantly away from her boy had taken its toll on her.

She had moved him to her relatively remote hometown to shield him from fame.

Six hours ago she had her final meltdown- where she stopped mid concert and told her fans she was done. She was taking a long hiatus, where raising her son would be her number one priority.

The limo took her from the airport to her home. She got out and started walking towards where her son would be.

Danny Fires was a very sweet little boy, He was always a curious child. He loved learning about new things. Some kids thought he was strange & weird because of his eyes, Which was the result of Heterochromia. a condition he was born with. He also enjoyed more feminine things like Sailor Moon, Tea parties, and painting his nails. He was playing one of the game consoles his mother passed down to him. A Sega Genesis, He was currently playing Sonic The Hedgehog 2. He paused the game & raced towards his mother. hugging her tightly, "Hi Mommy, How was your trip? I missed you." The boy said with overwhelming joy in his voice. His mother had many nicknames for him. such as the song 'Wicked Child' from Castlevania on NES and her favorite 'Moonbeam'.

Ashley practically ran upto him, lifting him up for a big hug. "Hey there moonbeam, she said, tearing up a bit. She had just seen him less than ten days in the past year. She just kept showering with kisses before taking a seat. "How've you been, baby boy? Mommy missed you so much".

Danny giggled as his mother kissed him mercilessly, He continued to embrace her. "I've been extra good Mommy, I've been sad too because you were gone alot." The boy said as he looked down with a sad expression on his face.

Ashley smiles. "Well, mommy is gonna be here for a very very long time. Gotta start taking care of my little man." She said, softly running her fingers through his head.

Danny rested his head on his mother's shoulder. "Mommy, School has been making me sad, Kids have been hitting me & pushing me alot. I didn't wanna make you upset, So I didn't fight back & the teachers didn't do anything when I told them." He stated sadly. This had become pretty common lately. And he was scared to tell his mother. Since he didn't have a father, He never had anyone who he could relate to.

"Aw, moonbeam. Why didn't you tell me?" She hated seeing her boy upset. " Tell you what, how about I come meet your teachers tomorrow and sort it out?"

"I was afraid that you'd get mad at me for not defending myself," Danny told her as tears began to form in his eyes. "Really, You'll come and protect me, Mommy?" He asked hiccuping & whimpering.

"Well, as long as you didn't fight them, mommy's proud." She said. "And I'll always protect you, you're my special little man. Mommy's gonna be staying here with you for a long time."

Danny wiped his tears out of his eyes, He smiled and told his mother happily. "Mommy, I got you a Welcome home present."
